I liked the very tiny aspect of a city builder. Had some glitches, where I couldn't send any more ambulances or police cars even if thy seemed not busy.  MAybe in this case some indication if there is an ambulance 'ready to depart' at the hospital or not. Great game that has potential to grow into more.

Submitted

This seems like a very cool game! Nicely done so far.

nice little city builder. I liked the idea and the art style was fun. The controls and camera could use some tweaks.. I ended up sending ambulances to the wrong places a few times. Feels like there is a solid foundation to build on here and I enjoyed playing it. Well done

Super cozy city builder game! Well done!

This is a really neat concept! I just have a few suggetions:

- The movement of player's camera shoudn't be affected by the time scale.

-  An instant pause button would be great to access the situation instead of having to drag the slider to 0 and lose the ability to move the camera.

- Maybe allow the police car and ambulance to change their destination when they are dispatched, as it is hard to make it in time even when the 2 buildings in need are close to each other

But still, I had a lot of fun with it!

Developer

Nice! I'm glad you had fun!

Thank you for your great suggestions! I agree with you on all of them!

Thanks for playing!

I seemed to get the whole screen getting a blue tint as soon as I clicked on the first building. I had gone fullscreen, and I'm on Firefox. I've played 911 a bit, it's similar to that.

Developer(+1)

That blue tint is new. You're right it might be a browser issue. Thanks for playing

I accidentally sent an ambulance to the police and both got stuck. The concept has promise, but could need a little polish ;)

Developer

You mean could need a lot of polish and then some more xD. Thank you!

Interesting concept for a game
I would make the hospital and police building stand out more
and make the selection cancel if I click on an empty road cause I send an ambulance to a hospital building few time lol
But overall nice little game!

Developer

Lol yeah this happened with others as well, should definitely fix it. Thank you for your suggestions and for playing!

Nice idea for a city game. But I would not connect the camera movement speed to the game speed. Its a bit hard to control when increasing the play speed.

Developer

Yeah you're definitely right. I added the time at the last minute because I didn't want players to get bored if they though it's slow. I will fix that. Thank you!

Fantastic start to a city building game.  The people in this city certainly have a lot of medical emergencies!

A lot of scope to make this even better like pathing along the roads, other services etc, but you have the basics of balancing needs vs services vs income.  Really impressive for the 7 days you were able to put into this.

Developer(+1)

Thank you this means a lot!

Man those people have 911 as their favorite number!

I was feeling bad because of how little I achieved since I had planned more stuff that would make it more fun and diverse. Your kind words make me feel proud of what I was able to achieve. Thank you!

Very fun! the artstyle is very reminiscent of those carpets I saw as a kid so it added to my enjoyment x3! kept sending ambulances to other hospitals on accident (whoops xD)

Developer

I'm so glad you had fun with it! xD Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting idea :) fun game <3

I really liked this game. It's a really well-made city sim. The controls are easy to use, and the gameplay loop is very addicting. My only suggestion would be to change the time speed-up from a slider to buttons, to give more precise control, and to make hazards less frequent. I'm not sure if it was a bug, but for some reason every house on the map started requesting a hospital at the same time, and I didn’t have enough to meet the demand.

Developer(+1)

You're very right about both suggestions. Will do that. Thank you for your awesome feedback!

Good concept for a game jam, bit slow on getting started but fun once get into it :-)

Developer

Yeah I felt it might to slow for some so I added the ability to control time in case someone wanted to go faster. But I could also make some stuff a bit cheaper or make you earn money faster to make it better at the default speed, I will do that. Thank you!

The game is fun and I had a bit of a laugh with it involving a game breaking bug with a bit of a funny out come.

When I was playing I sent my police car to a house and it then just stayed there and didn't return and eventually both my ambulances were stuck on the police car and unable to move where I began to gain negative population and income which was really funny.

But overall the game is good.

Developer

OH NO! 😂 I'm sorry you had to go through that! I still don't know when that happens so I'm unable to fix this bug so far. Although, I did keep the negative population and income on purpose because I thought it would be funny if someone reached that point, but I definitely didn't plan for a bug to lead to this! Thank you for your feedback.

Quite stressful! But that just adds to the fun of it in this case. It could be a really fun game if it was worked on a lot more (Of course beyond the scope of this gamejam. For the gamejam, it's a really cool game!)

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Honestly I felt a bit disappointed because I wanted to do so much more but couldn't. Maybe I'll just do them anyway after the game jam just for fun. Thanks for the nice feedback.

Interesting game! Seems like we used the same buildings!

Developer

Thanks! Can you make your game playable in the browser? Your download file also doesn't specify what OS this zip is for. I downloaded it and saw it's made in Unity and this build is for Windows so I can't run it. But since you're using Unity, you can make a build for the Web and upload it to itch.io and check the box that says playable in the browser. Let me know if you do that, so I try out your game

Submitted(+1)

I have some optimization issues that have made it unplayable in the browser. I do have a build for the web, but it crashes chrome on my dev machine (which has 64GB of RAM and a 3060 Ti).

Submitted

It may be an interesting game, but it looks a bit unfinished. Need more clear visuals that when you select one building and send the resource to another building. Following the road is an interesting milestone, but to  do it well is not that easy.

Developer

Yeah it is definitely far from being finished. You're right I should make the selection visuals clearer.

Regarding following the road, I actually wanted to have traffic which you control with traffic lights so that you clear the way for emergency vehicles, but it was too complicated so I kept it till the end (and ended up not having time to implement it). Thank you!

Submitted

There is a "technique" for the cards following the road and so on. No need to reinvent the wheel. There are a few open source implementations where you can study and develop your own. Easily a couple of days!

Submitted(+1)

Develop it a little more. It should be a fun game in the future.

Developer

Yeah I didn't spend enough time working on it as much as I should have. Thank you that's a really nice feedback.

i was so bad at the game i went into negative ppl and negative money. i think things just cost way too much money in the begining. maybe have some starter places to cost less to get going.

Developer

Yeah you're right. I should definitely make it easier, especially in the beginning. Thank you!
