This game scratches a very specific itch for me. I had to play it until the upgrades broke it, which is how I approach all of these games. Absolutely loved it.

Developer

When we introduced the endless upgrades, the first thing I did was give myself 1000 of them and turn the game speed up to max to see what it looked like, so I'm totally with you!

Awesome game! I love the feature of making an upgrade permanent at the end of the run as it gives me an incentive to play again. The artwork and graphics look amazing - I love the background effect. Great job!

This game is awesome!  The permanent upgrades are such a good incentive to keep playing.  We had pretty similar design at a high level but still very different games.  What game engine did you use for this?  The background graphics are so cool, I'm not exactly sure how you did that.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah I found it funny how similar yet very different our games seem to be. My buddy programmed everything in Unreal Engine 4 (since UE5 can't do browser games).

The graphics for the game were largely made in Blender, but rendered out as 2D sprites using fresnel and emission shading. I used a seamless voronoi texture loop (same as you did, I think) for the watery animation, made that partially transparent, and then made giant blurry cells which my buddy programmed to float around randomly underneath the transparent voronoi animation. He also coded the color to shift with each wave by color-tinting a desaturated background image.

Thanks for the kind words!

This game is really well done.  Very entertaining and fun.

Very fun game, I will need a new mouse after all that clicking haha!
We also wanted to make a  game similar to this but we switched, so we're glad y'all made it. Great job!

A nice incremental game i like it. And the aesthetic is nice.

Very good stuff. A mix of cookie clicker and Vampire Survivors. Crucially, it has that feeling where you just know you're on the verge of a run that's going to pop off like crazy. Autoclick was an inspired design decision, I honestly think you should make it default and get rid of clicking altogether. Well done!

I do love this type of game! And a brilliant choice to make for a jam. You fit a lot in with the upgrades system. I appreciate that there are rewards for defeating bosses and for losing, because I certainly did one more than the other. :D

Being able to set the speed of the game was very helpful, I needed to play on the lowest setting to have a chance. Having an auto-click option is also greatly appreciated, however I found it wasn't triggering nearly often enough once things got hectic. When things got really hectic even mashing the mouse button myself wasn't enough.

I managed to get to a point where I had all the upgrades by wave 15 but I wasn't able to defeat that boss even so. Please give me more power! Or else I'll have to install an auto-clicker...

I did it!

This doesn't look bad at all! I really like the game, and I especially enjoyed the mechanic of adding a perk after dying. As soon as I started playing, I thought, "This is going to be a chill game," but it turned out to be anything but! I probably clicked my mouse to death :) Great job, well done!

Excellent audio/visual presentation, but quite challenging. Auto-click sample rate seems slow. Perhaps simply detecting the mouse could balance both auto-click and the difficulty curve. Overall, really well done.

Love how you keep progressing between attempts. Great idea - well done!

Amazing game and I have spent way too much time playing it. Got all upgrades but the wiggly boss on level 15 keeps overpowering me. Super fun! Great visuals, very cohesive!

Thanks for added an option to slow down time for us old folks LOL

I really liked the game. It's entertaining, although the difficulty is very high right from the start.
It really has potential. Great work!

A simple but changelling and original cookie clicker.

That was really difficult, I am not very precise!
