Great little puzzle game with a lot of potential. Now, enjoy watching me make an embarrassing fool out of myself by getting ridiculously stuck:

I couldn't finish the game, but what I finished was really great! I've seen a few different games with ideas like this, but I really love how you did it. Great job!

The grapple hook in combination with the wooden block creation ability was brilliant. It made intuitive sense, which imo is a really difficult think to achieve.

Very delightful, bitesized levels. Thanks for making this!

Thanks for playing!  I'm glad that that came together!

What a delightful game. I really like the puzzle aspect of only being able to hold one ability and having to plan out your route through the the level. It was great how you slowly introduced concepts and gated the players understanding of each one to pass the level. Nice job!

Adorable game! I had a lot of fun playing!

This needs more levels!!! I like this puzzle game very much and I hope there will be some more levels after the jam.. especially after you hook someone :D

Well your game has everything a good puzzle game needs. The presentation is clean and clear. The concept is easy to understand and builds up slowly and get challenging but still fair.

One thing was not really clear though, that the grappling hook can be used with boxes, because they are wooden too. But maybe I'm just to tired and didn't paid enough attention.

This is a great game, which i would continue to play. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I kinda wanted the wooden box + grappling hook to be an "aha" moment and I didn't want to explicitly say it, but I think I could have signaled it a bit better for sure. I do have 2 more levels ready to upload, but I'll wait until the jam is over to upload the newer build.  Thanks for playing!

And you also achieved an "aha" effect. It was like "ah! what if this box is an wooden box" and then the puzzle was practically solved. If you wanted this then you did everything right and i was just impatiently. But if you wanna something like "the fence is wooden and also the box.. ah! then the hook should work on the box too" thought, then you just need to give the fence and the box wooden pattern.
I just replayed your game and now I saw that you explicitly say that the box is a wooden box. But for me this information got lost and a permanent (visual) wooden pattern would help, at least people like me who overlooked or just forgot this piece of information :)
However, I'm looking forward to play new levels :)

Follows a familiar platformer formula but stands out for great level design and take on the "only one" theme. Tutorial levels start out simple but the fun quickly ramps up. Quit reading reviews and go play it!

P.S. - Had some technical issues with keybind conflicts and my browser/extensions but downloading worked great.

Your take on the theme is pretty similar to mine so I enjoyed it quite a bit! The X key didn't activate abilities for me but the shift key worked just fine.

Developer

Thanks, I'll take a look at yours!  I actually have an updated build that fixed the X key (and added a couple of levels) but I didn't have time to get it in before the deadline.

Wow, that was some fantastic level design. I really enjoyed this game all the way through, and color me impressed with these freaking levels man. The game is pretty polished too, I didn't run into any bugs. Levels were all decent lengths and the way you teach mechanics works really well. I would say that something like a quick undo or something would be nice, because I found myself having to restart some rooms quite a few times, making playtime add up a while. Really fantastic work here though, props from me.

Really neat! I managed to clip myself through the floor with the grappling hook haha. I would've loved to see more levels to explore the potential synergy between the grapple hook and wooden objects, that was definitely my favourite part. Cool take on the theme and fun puzzle platformer game overall!

This was a fun little concept, it was fun trying to juggle which order in which to get abilities so their cards were in specific spots

I'm impressed, those puzzles were actually really clever.  Devious actually, how a level can appear so simple yet actually be very tricky to solve.

Nice game, we like more levels for it

There were some seriously ingenious levels in this one, great job! Hope you make some more levels eventually, I feel like there are still a lot of ideas to be explored with this game mechanic.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!  I actually have 2 more levels already made, but I can't upload them to Itch until the Jam ends. I had a lot of mechanics that didn't make it in!

This is really good! It controls great (although sometimes I felt like it needed some polish, but those moments were few and apart) and level design was also great, with some time put into it and more habilities, you could turn this into a great game, so well done!!!

The control and visuals are great, and the level design is amazing too.

I liked this game a log. It turned out I had to pay a lot more attention to where the power-up blocks were by the end. That second to last level was a bit rough but I eventually got it. That was satisfying. I'd like to see more with the grappling hook. That was pretty fun.

Cool Game!

Amazing design for all the levels.  Only complaint is that I wish it were longer so I could use the grapple more lol.

Developer

Thanks!  I also wish that I had more time for levels, decided that a bit of polish was more pressing but I'll update it later with a few more levels.

Enjoyed it thoroughly. But sad it ended so soon.
