Only a moon beam can protect this village from terrible demons. An ancient scepter is the only thing that can deliver the shot.

Hey this was a great game! Nice mechanics with switching the player and split screen, sometimes it felt as if the scepter did not register or I still didn't figure out how to use it lol anyhow find my video review below!

Wow, thanks for playing! I see you got problems getting the scepter mechanics, maybe it should be made clear that it creates a magical barrier so the demons don't see you from afar, but doesn't work if they get too close (inside the barrier). Anyway, you managed to reach quite far in the game, a mere two more levels until the end. Thanks for the comments and rating!

Yay! A really fun game! not too hard or too easy :) Loved the graphics, and loved the way the screen split! So freaking cool!

BTW i dont know if this is a feature or not, i noticed that I can hide from the demons if i cling to trees:

So here (and also on a previous occasion) I just stood next to trees, out of the demon-stream’s way, and managed to survive :)

Ouch! The chasing enemy was the hardest thing to develop during this jam, I tried lots of different implementations and had to optimize it a lot to not be laggy or exploitable, but clearly you managed to find a legal gap here, hehe. Thanks for playing and comment about the bug, I'll be sure it's fixed soon!

Submitted(+1)

That was really good! I loved the narrative and you did some really cool things with the scepter mechanic. The part where you had to control both of the witches at the same time was incredibly difficult. I had to switch to controller to even get through it, so I was happy gamepad controls worked. My only real feedback is that I feel like there should have been some intense music when the monsters were swarming you. It felt kind of weird that the music was still calm in such an intense situation. That being said, I really liked everything about this game. All of the sound effects set the mood well and as I mentioned before, I really enjoyed the mechanics. Great job with this one!

Developer

Thank you! Controller support exists from the very beginning but I had zero time to create custom tooltips for it. Same goes for the music, we were working on a thrilling chase audio track, but we didn't get it on time. I'm really glad you enjoyed it as I enjoyed making it. Thanks for playing and leaving your comments!

Great game! Really liked the music, though at a few places there was none when it would've added a lot of value in my opinion.

The gameplay was really interesting. Changing between the two characters brought a nice twist into the game. Also the difficulty progression was nice (maybe the part where you have to run with both characters individually at the same time was a bit hard :D).

The end was a abrupt, but I think we all know how short a month is to complete a game :).

Good job! We had a blast playing the game!

Developer

Yes, I was in a hurry to push a game that feels complete, even with all the cuts I had to make, thanks for understanding this. But in the end I'm really happy with the result. And even more happy to see you pals are liking it too! Thank you so much for playing and giving your feedback! :D

Moody and wonderful.  I loved the music!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Excellent game! Loved the stealth mechanics with timer for the scepter use and the horror like atmosphere!
I really like the spit screen effect when you play as the little girl!
Not to mention the demon horde later. That was scary!!
As other commenters already said, the village at the beginning should have being smaller (I almost gave up there, really glad I didn't!). A much smaller village would have been more than enough for the atmosphere.
Great job!

Developer(+1)

Great, I'm happy you liked it! This game was much bigger in my mind but I didn't have enough time to capture it as I thought. That's why the first level is huge compared to the rest, I had to cut somewhere, painful as it was... I hope I can iterate this concept and put together the whole story. Thank you for playing and for your comments!

I love it! So many little details. We're very well guided and learn very well the individual skills or gameplay elements. A very great game you have created there. The only thing I found annoying was the too big village at the beginning. You have to wander around too much without anything happening. Congratulations! It had the first 5* awarded!!!

Developer(+1)

The idea was to make all levels the same size of the village or even bigger, but once I started putting details the game was too big to finish during the jam, so I cut some levels, cues and dialogs that should have given more insight and direct you better towards your goal. I'm happy the result was enjoyable anyway and you had fun playing and learning about our world and characters. Thanks so much for your comment!

Wow, lovely game! The sfx for their speech was super cute and the difficulty increased at a very nice pace. Great job!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Your comments mean a lot to me, thanks for taking your time to play!

That was a lot of fun- loved the writing and the mechanics were good (if not a lil’ mindbending for my level of coordination!).

I made it to the end after a few tries though!

Developer

I'm quite happy seen you players having fun with this little entry.
Thanks for playing until the end and your comments!

Wow, REALLY great job. One of my favorites in the jam so far.

Loved your voices for the characters :D

Everything played really nice and the environment was well fleshed out.

Very impressive for a one-month game jam.

Great Game!

Glad you liked it, your comments mean a lot! Thank you so much for playing!

I really loved this game: the mood and aesthetics, the screen split effect, the story and characters, everything is great! Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Loved all the comments here, I'm really happy with the final result (although it can be improved).
Thanks so much for playing, commenting and (hopefully) rating it! ;)

The keys used to movement shouldn't trigger the dialogs. I missed many  of them due to that. I like the part where you control two characters, but the zoom was somewhat too close. In the part where demons are coming from left and right, the second character got kinda corrupted and was lagging behind me and was captured by the demons. It was very annoying that I had to see the same dialog each time I died at that level. Other than that it has great atmosphere.

Developer

Can you tell me the browser and SO you used?
Someone reported that same bug buy I can't reproduce again.
It must be something depending on browser version or hardware.

Glad you liked the game, though. Thanks for playing!

Falkon 3.1.0 browser on FreeBSD 11.4. Not very common setup I guess.

Nice atmosphere. The way the screen splits is sick, really nice execution. Only wish it would maybe zoom out a bit because sometimes a demon appeared from outside the screen with little time to react.

Story had me interested and would like to see it continued. Great game!

Developer

I really had loved to find more time to add zoom and more content, maybe in the near future, who knows.
Thanks for playing and giving feedback! Glad you liked it!

Nice game! The pixel art and music created a very spooky atmosphere :-)

Developer

Thank you! I'm happy you liked it :)

Nice work.  Retro graphics remind me of the commodore 64 era.  Controlling both characters separately while running was a little tricky, but I got it.  The ending seemed very abrupt.

If you like platformers, please try our game - Lumi and the Dark Night.

Developer

Thanks for playing and leaving a comment! As I said in other comments, we designed at least one more level before the ending but run out of time. Really glad you liked the graphics and the mechanics!

Submitted(+1)

Cute game, good choice in music! It was interesting to play between the two characters

Developer

Thank you! 😊

Nice one, I really liked atmosphere, all this sounds and dialogs works perfectly together!

Also playing both characters in same time feels pretty nice, split screen realization is splendid

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
