Only a moon beam can protect this village from terrible demons. An ancient scepter is the only thing that can deliver the shot.

Wow, this was so much fun to experience! I adore the banter between our main duo, and how the gameplay has them working together in separation at times, along with the passing of the scepter. The stealth and chase sequences were both tense and exciting to complete. The graphics look super nice too, I just love this overall and there are so many interesting ideas that can be further explored with these types of mechanics. A truly splendid game!
What a remarkable game! Five stars for innovation.
I didn’t think I was going to be coordinated enough to get through the sections where you have to control them both separately, but I finally managed it in the end.
Great game! We enjoyed it a lot, the overall experience felt really fun. Maybe the graphics could do some polishing, like adding roof to the buildings when you are outside, but the aesthetic it's very good, hope seenig more of this story in the future.
I love the pixel art!! This game is very polished and addicting! A minor suggestion would be to add animated character walking, the game still looked great as-is though. What a great idea to have the scepter spin around the character after obtaining the item, and major kudos for having the side character play and with a split screen, this game really impressed me!
I liked the split mechanic, the split screen was smooth, well done!
A thing I felt missing was some animation on the fire sprites but overall good art.
Really enjoyable!
Thanks for playing and for your kind words!
Really glad you liked it! In fact, our musician wanted to put some more black metal music in the latest stages of the game, but we had not enough time for it. Thanks for playing and leaving your comment!
Gameplay: The scepter protection was an interesting mechanic (though sometimes it seems like they could still see you). The controlling both characters was also interesting. I liked dialogue it was good too.
Graphics: I liked the art but maybe player walking animations would be nice.
Audio: The music and SFX were good.
Innovation: Pretty good!
Theme: Only a moon beam can protect this village from terrible demons. An ancient scepter is the only thing that can deliver the shot.
Overall: Good game!
Can you try (and review) my game?
I'm happy you liked it! I think it needs to explain better that scepter makes you invisible to the outside of the bubble, that's why it doesn't work when enemies are too close. Thanks for playing, comment and rating!
I wish there was a Story or Atmosphere category or something so I could give you a 5 stars there. I'm a sucker for pixel graphics, and your low res chunky pixels looked really good, felt like a homage to old games with a bit of a modern cheats and I love it! The gameplay was its own thing. I liked the mechanics, but some were a bit unexplored, the buttons and revealing pathways weren't really explored. It felt like the focus was on controlling both characters at the same time, which was very hard to do. I like the ideas, and I'm sure if you had more time to develop more puzzles and levels you could work those mechanics to new heights. But yeah, this is a solid submission. Good job!
What a review, thank you for your kind words!
I would love to have finished the game just as I envisioned it, most of the mechanics were already implemented but I needed a bit more time to create levels where they shine and mix together. Like they are, they're only showcased and look a bit incomplete. I could have added this to the final chase, pushing buttons, passing the scepter, walking moonpaths... But it was too chaotic already.
Thanks so much for playing and commenting!
Very fun game. The story is engaging and well presented, and the different mechanics are introduced perfectly well! Loved controlling both characters, even with the difficulty spike when the horde comes into play ;) Great job!
Well, thank you very much! Your kind comments are giving me life this days. I'm really glad you enjoyed the characters, the levels and the full experience. Thank you for playing!
This was a really fun game! I liked the pixel art and the music, along with all the different stealth/grouping mechanics (once I got used to them).
Sometimes when I was running away from a horde, it would count as me having died even though the demons didn't touch either character. Not sure what that was all about.
The story and dialogue were also really cool to see!
So glad you enjoyed it! I'm sorry about the chase glitch, it was pretty hard to code and still has some peculiar bugs, I hope this wasn't enough to spoil the experience. Thanks for playing and for your comment!
Hey this was a great game! Nice mechanics with switching the player and split screen, sometimes it felt as if the scepter did not register or I still didn't figure out how to use it lol anyhow find my video review below!

Wow, thanks for playing! I see you got problems getting the scepter mechanics, maybe it should be made clear that it creates a magical barrier so the demons don't see you from afar, but doesn't work if they get too close (inside the barrier). Anyway, you managed to reach quite far in the game, a mere two more levels until the end. Thanks for the comments and rating!
Yay! A really fun game! not too hard or too easy :) Loved the graphics, and loved the way the screen split! So freaking cool!
BTW i dont know if this is a feature or not, i noticed that I can hide from the demons if i cling to trees:
So here (and also on a previous occasion) I just stood next to trees, out of the demon-stream’s way, and managed to survive :)
Ouch! The chasing enemy was the hardest thing to develop during this jam, I tried lots of different implementations and had to optimize it a lot to not be laggy or exploitable, but clearly you managed to find a legal gap here, hehe. Thanks for playing and comment about the bug, I'll be sure it's fixed soon!
That was really good! I loved the narrative and you did some really cool things with the scepter mechanic. The part where you had to control both of the witches at the same time was incredibly difficult. I had to switch to controller to even get through it, so I was happy gamepad controls worked. My only real feedback is that I feel like there should have been some intense music when the monsters were swarming you. It felt kind of weird that the music was still calm in such an intense situation. That being said, I really liked everything about this game. All of the sound effects set the mood well and as I mentioned before, I really enjoyed the mechanics. Great job with this one!
Thank you! Controller support exists from the very beginning but I had zero time to create custom tooltips for it. Same goes for the music, we were working on a thrilling chase audio track, but we didn't get it on time. I'm really glad you enjoyed it as I enjoyed making it. Thanks for playing and leaving your comments!
Great game! Really liked the music, though at a few places there was none when it would've added a lot of value in my opinion.
The gameplay was really interesting. Changing between the two characters brought a nice twist into the game. Also the difficulty progression was nice (maybe the part where you have to run with both characters individually at the same time was a bit hard :D).
The end was a abrupt, but I think we all know how short a month is to complete a game :).
Good job! We had a blast playing the game!
Yes, I was in a hurry to push a game that feels complete, even with all the cuts I had to make, thanks for understanding this. But in the end I'm really happy with the result. And even more happy to see you pals are liking it too! Thank you so much for playing and giving your feedback! :D
Moody and wonderful. I loved the music!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
Excellent game! Loved the stealth mechanics with timer for the scepter use and the horror like atmosphere!
I really like the spit screen effect when you play as the little girl!
Not to mention the demon horde later. That was scary!!
As other commenters already said, the village at the beginning should have being smaller (I almost gave up there, really glad I didn't!). A much smaller village would have been more than enough for the atmosphere.
Great job!
Great, I'm happy you liked it! This game was much bigger in my mind but I didn't have enough time to capture it as I thought. That's why the first level is huge compared to the rest, I had to cut somewhere, painful as it was... I hope I can iterate this concept and put together the whole story. Thank you for playing and for your comments!
I love it! So many little details. We're very well guided and learn very well the individual skills or gameplay elements. A very great game you have created there. The only thing I found annoying was the too big village at the beginning. You have to wander around too much without anything happening. Congratulations! It had the first 5* awarded!!!
The idea was to make all levels the same size of the village or even bigger, but once I started putting details the game was too big to finish during the jam, so I cut some levels, cues and dialogs that should have given more insight and direct you better towards your goal. I'm happy the result was enjoyable anyway and you had fun playing and learning about our world and characters. Thanks so much for your comment!
Wow, lovely game! The sfx for their speech was super cute and the difficulty increased at a very nice pace. Great job!
Glad you liked it! Your comments mean a lot to me, thanks for taking your time to play!
That was a lot of fun- loved the writing and the mechanics were good (if not a lil’ mindbending for my level of coordination!).
I made it to the end after a few tries though!
I'm quite happy seen you players having fun with this little entry.
Thanks for playing until the end and your comments!
