Challenging game and it was challenging to remember what each sprite did mainly because the resolution meant that their definition gets easily lost in the middle of battle. Also, found myself running constantly out of mana while my HP easily withered away and when a mana ball thing appeared it was usually enough only to heal making it hard to continue my attack and kill that healer :P
Enjoyed playing this game! straightforward controls and gameplay, cool graphics too! keep it up!
The controls were very clever and clean. I just need to use my mouse and it is very intuitive.
I like how the dragon floates and the physics in the tail. Another wise thing, was to setup conditions on how to harm the enemies. Great work.
Really awsome really cute, its the second game I played in this game of this style of boss against heroes with mouse follow, and it seems to demonstrate that is a really good idea
cheers
I was watching Vimlark stream and asked the chat for gems in the jam and this was mentioned. I'm really glad I came by to play it. This was a blast of a jam game with fantastic art and animation, I especially liked the background details. There's a lot to love about this game, but it was the little details like telling me I dropped some great loot when I died that made me chuckle and appreciate it even more.
Getting a feel for controlling the dragon was tricky at first, but when it clicked it felt really good. I do wish he would face your cursor though, I always felt derpy when retreating back, but facing the heros.
This was a take on the theme I expected to see more of but surprisingly didn't. Maybe people thought it would be really difficult to design around, but you sure nailed. Great game and great job!
Lovely art style and great implementation of the boss theme - I'm a fan of playing the bad guy in this one :D! Enjoyed wiping them out by dive-bombing them- having a more diverse playing field and different environment elements to destroy would be cool too!
Nice Game! I loved playing as the dragon in this one. Really established that I was playing as the boss! Super liked how the attacks were somewhat similar yet different and distinguishable. I felt that this let the game stick to a type of art design while still allowing us players to determine which attack is which. Small detail but I also love how the dragon's eye would move to where our mouse was.It added that extra layer of life in the game. Great Job!
Really polished!
It was really fun.
But BOI was that healer not fun!
After first loss that healer was on my top 10 hitlist!
Beautiful art, great music and fitting sound effects, one thing I would have added would be a small window to show where the next refiller will spawn, and maybe a blinking effect a litte before it dissapears. Right now, if you are at the edge of the map and the refill spawns at the other side, then there's no chance you will get it.
Very polished game. I found the menu music to be very engaging right off the bat. And everything feels very well put together. The only gripe I had is that I found the controls a bit challenging.
I get to be the boss! Yes, that's a twist I haven't seen as much this jam. Nice job, I had fun with this one.
Cool game ! It was very satisfying to rain havok on those miserable humans mwehehe.
The controls were different and interesting, it really encouraged on diving on them and managing your mana properly.
I had fun !
fun game idea liked the way you move the dragon but it was hard to shoot at the people
Seeing all the little enemies move around and do their thing was quite endearing!
Love it! What a great take on the theme, I loved how each little person had a different job and it was so satisfying wiping them out one by one!!
The controls are fun and smooth.Reflecting projectiles onto the heroes was challenging but fun.
I really appreciate the little things in this game, like the music and sfx buttons are already nice polish, but having different heroes with different abilities is a great addition that I think might get kind of lost when they're all clumped together.
I agree with the comment about the collision- I kept thinking my hitbox was my head and trying to divebomb the heroes, but the long hitbox + inability to shoot backwards had me feeling kind of limited. I also feel like the healer is OP? :)
Thank you so much! Your comment is spot on! I really spent too much time polishing some aspects of the game neglecting others, for example the ranged enemies mechanics... The hitbox is the whole body but they aim for your head when they shoot. The caster will aim exactly on your head and the ranger will aim on the position of your head when he starts charging but here's the cheesy part I didn't have time to improve because of horrible organization of the animation players... I added a cooldown for the abilities so they wont spam you, but the cooldown will also incur when you first ender their range, so you get a delay before they start attacking you, this was totally unintentional but didn't have time to fix it and the worst part is that it wasn't even a coding issue, it was an animation one xD. Also yeah, the healer is for sure OP! (Don't mind my long text, I also said out loud my thought just to remember what I gotta do post jam) :D Thanks again for playing!
