Epic game! LOVED the intro and the way you have to initialize the fight by starting your second phase. That was brilliant. The flop ability was particularly cool, though I don't quite know how to get them to recharge since the spit seemed to be infinite? Maybe I missed something. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Skills have a timed cooldown. You gain new skills when health is lower (on the edge of dying). Flopping just has a long cooldown to avoid having endless invulnerability.

Really enjoyed this game after I got the hang of it! There is lots going on, and it was quite overwhelming my first few rounds (especially with all the graphics and sound happening), but all that complexity interacts very well I feel. The fourth ability, which heals you, and is only accessible when you are 1 hit from dying, really works. My biggest complaint is it being confusing to learn how everything works, but that's fine in my opinion for a jam game. Enjoyed the art and audio with all their little details too! The premise and initial cutscene is great too, love the line "There 's a second phase??" haha.

Developer

Thanks for playing! We're so happy you enjoyed it. We ran out of time to explain skills ingame and had to do it in the description haha. We're planning on updating after voting ends so it makes more sense.

This is awesome! the art and sound are good and the gameplay is really fun!! The controls are good and strangely immersive. Also I like the lines of the little humans haha. overall great idea and excellent execution!

Pretty fun idea! I liked the take of being a giant worm, really made me feel like a Terraria boss, as well as like a certain old flash game. The abilities were neat, though it took me a few runs to understand how to use them. The getting stuck on the surface ability was annoying, since if you get stuck on the corner of the screen, it was a bit hard to get back to the ground. Cool game, good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It's definitely inspired by those classic games.

Nice concept! I like how you need to take vengance.

The controls are tricky since the concept of left and right switches on your move, but you get used to quickly. It's like a mean dig dug. Really good.

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing it <3

Love the unique take on the theme, the music and art were also incredible, alongside the mechanics, honestly loved this game in general and I really hope you keep updating it after the jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your words! Definitely, we are already thinking about updates for it.

This reminds me a lot of this old flash game called "Effing Worms", and I absolutely love it! The idea of using your abilities and health as things to balance is so creative, great work!

Thanks for playing it! Means a lot you enjoyed it.

I thought I was such hot s--- when I spawned my first husk ... even though I died right after so I didn't get to watch him wreck those adventurers or eat him for health, but I was pretty proud of this:

But then I saw your team dev high-score in the description ... you monsters! In a good way of course.

I wish I could give you all constructive criticism ... but this was a wonderful, well-designed, enjoyable, super-polished and perfect jam-length game! You all took the concept of the player being the traditional boss and did it better than any game I've seen in the jam ... and I took the same approach.

Your team set up so much of the story with that small opening scene and then delivered on the player power fantasy big-time. The pixel art was wonderful, so I never felt too bad about devouring those fools, but I still felt like a powerful beast. The controls were just the right level of difficult to handle to manage the difficulty curve appropriately. The only area I really think you all could improve is communicating that when the skills are available to the player and entice them to trigger them, even if the icon was accompanied by the key to trigger it. In a full game, I don't think that's necessary, but for a jam game, jammers are going through so many games in a session it makes it even harder to retain things, so every nudge in the right direction helps. Awesome experience. One of my favorites so far.

I should give it perfect marks for this line in the description alone: "

"AAHADFIKDFHSKJFDS" - Worm

(Translation: If I'm going down, I'm taking you all with me!)"

Excellent work. Your team should be proud.

Developer

Thanks so much for the high praise! We spent a lot of time making the ambiance and controlling the worm feel good before adding more. Happy it shows :)

This was my favorite interpretation of the theme, somehow being a big giant worm made the boss thing more impactful.

I loved the underground movement and balance between the "enemies".

Really cool controls, diving in and out of the ground was really satisfying.

Really original and cool.

Excellent mechanics. The controls are a bit unintuitive, but you quickly get used to it)

Developer

We will work on some updates including control instructions. Thanks for the feedback and playing the game!

I remember playing this years ago when I was younger, this feels like a classic remake but with nicer visuals more of a goal and waaay smoother! Music was insanely loud by default but beyond that nicely done :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely I'll check the audio files since the volume was a consistent issue. Glad you enjoyed it.

That was fun! It fulfilled the fantasy of being a giant monster terrorizing weak little creatures! Perhaps adding special powers to the monster could help diversify its attacks!

Developer

Thank you! We are already looking forward to updates, we are really grateful for suggestions :D

Super fun gameplay loop - it's addicting destroying everything - kind of like katamari but you're a worm ahahah. the only note is that the controls take a little while to get used to, and adding some interesting elements to the shape of the terrain would be great!

Thanks for playing! We're planning on updating after voting ends.
