i'm watching patrick type his comment on his stream as i write this comment. fun. given how surprising and how funny it was when the boss died, i'm now not sure if i support adding a health bar for the boss, which is was going to recommend. amybe a health bar filled with "????" ? hahah.
anyawy, thanks for the experience
Hmm, that makes sense. even tough the way the boss dies wasn't supposed to be surprising or entertaining, but I found people fund it so (vimlark and some other playtesters), so maybe you're right. thanks for the kind words!
Played this on stream, you are literally watching me type this comment, haha. Fun! Enjoy the implication of the health bar that the game is supposed to be a lot easier, but your hands are tied, I find that hilarious.
(:
cool game! the controls are simple and the game is appropriate with the theme , overall I enjoyed playing, keep it up!
Thanks so much!
It took a while to beat it, mainly because the spikes spawned too fast and I dodged into them.
I see, thanks for the feedback!
i dont like the way at the bigining you die so quikly it means i cant go further but other than that good comsept
Thanks!
little loud, But great game!!!!!
Thanks! I'll try to set the volume to a little less next time i make a game (:
Nice game, though it is a little loud. Had to bring my volume down to 8 from 30.
Thanks! You're the second person to say that its too loud, so I'll remember to take the volume down next time i make a game (:
i really like the game and the SFX are really good but its a bit hard
Thanks for the feedback! it is a bit hard I agree (its tough to finish for me even), I didn't have enough time to balance the difficulty.
Fun game, good use of theme. Retro vibes all over!
And it's a tough boss fight! I only made it after countless attempts. The pacing is a bit fast, I couldn't keep my eyes on everything at once. For a "last boss" it would be acceptable to be so difficult, but the mechanics should probably be a little "smarter" and not so spammy. But I like it!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree the mechanics are a bit simple and mindless.
Hey!
But:
That's still a cool entry!
Thanks for all the feedback! ill definitely keep this in mind!
The answer is "no, I cannot beat the boss"... Great concept though!
Some of the attacks feel a bit unfair. For example, I can spawn on spikes, or the boss can teleport next to me with no warning and shoot me. On the other hand, the way you telegraph new spikes is very good.
I would have appreciated a boss HP bar, to let me know if I was anywhere near winning, but that's just a personal preference.
I love the retro graphics and music, particularly the little bats.
Tysm! A health bar for the boss was actually originally planned but later scrapped in favor of things that I thought were more important (sound, intro, etc. ) because I didn't have time. Also i like how the bats turned out as well, thanks!
Awesome job on the game! Very tough but i was able to beat it! Great concept and fun times!
Give mine a shot when you get a chance https://itch.io/jam/vimjam2/rate/1200495
Thanks and nice job on beating the game! ill give your game a shot when i get the chance (:
I really like your game! The only thing for me is the difficulty curve. It started off pretty difficult and remained the same the rest of the time. When it got faster, I didn't notice much of a difficulty increase. Maybe start it off easy and have it get gradually more difficult over time. Nice work!
Thanks! I'll keep this in mind!
