How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
Boss: You've just started your first day as the photographer for the isle! Help your boss out with a few photography tasks and explore the wilderness of this mountainous island. On the edge: A combination photography-platformer game, isletography utilises the theme "On the edge" to inform the design of the terrain, and including many platforming experiences where players are literally on the edge of a cliffside, side of a mountain or scaling a broken bridge!

Amazing visuals, only problem I found was unresponsive input on the platforming part.

This has to be one of the most relaxing and calming game ever made for a jam.

Thank you for this entry =)

Thanks so much!

I loved the Idea and the aesthetic of the game! Everything is so lovely and fun, good job!

Just like the photography game I stumbled upon in the first VimJam, I really enjoyed this game because it was a calm break from the bombastic boss fights and rushes lol. And the scene where the boss's hat is next to the berries, it's well done. 👍

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of control while mid air, it made some of the jumps awkward. But that's a minor grip.

I liked the 2D in the 3D but if you are not careful you fall over the edges and restart because of how fast you are xD

This was great. a cute enjoyable experience, there isn't anything to complain about. Though, I am wondering who or what moved that MASSIVE tree.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The bunny with the magnifying glass tells you that it's the bunnies who moved the big log.

must've missed that then. Lol

I just want you to know, I came back and played it a second time becuase it was so nice.

Developer(+1)

Haha what a compliment! I hope the second playthrough was just as enjoyable!

The concept and vibe of this game is just amazing. Nice job!

This game was so fun to play!! It remined me of "short hike". The ending was soo wholesome! The music and art was good.  I really loved playing it. My issue with the game is that to read the text box we have to face it but other the that this is execllent!

Developer

Thanks so much! Yeah, we've been getting comments about the readability of the dialog. It's something we'll address in an update!

such a nice game! the ending was very cute too! reminded me of a short hike alot and the music and art were great! but the hitboxes were a bit weird in my opinion (mainly the trees) and it would be nice for the text boxes to be facing towards you so you do not have to walk around to actually read it other than that it was AMAZING!

This is outstanding, I was getting 'a short hike' vibes all the way through. The graphics, the sfx, everything ties together so nicely. The story was also cute as hell, and so were the characters. Can't believe you guys made that 10 days. I noticed the jump is a bit finnicky though, you can't move with wasd in mid air, only strafe with the mouse, and also falling from a later part feels pretty bad because you have to go all the way back. But that doesn't take away from the game at all. Really incredible job guys!

Developer

Hey thanks for your feedback! We appreciate the compliments! Regarding the jump, you actually can move mid air although the movement is reduced. Perhaps this can be further tweaked to make it more noticeable. And yeah, falling down does feel bad especially if it's a long fall. Something we'll need to address in a future update!

This is a really well-made game, especially for only 2 people in 10 days!  Loved the visual style with a mix of pixel art and 3D.  The game had a cozy feel to it, similar to A Short Hike.

My only (minor) complaints are that the platforming didn't always work right (player got stuck/didn't respond to jump button), and I ran into a lot of invisible walls. But those are small things for an overall great little game.

Well done!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We'll definitely be addressing your comments in a possible future update!

Wow, what a charming and cosy game. Great job, this really felt like a cohesive experience.

Submitted(+1)

That was a very nice experience. And impressive as well. Loved the world and the mood of the game. Calming and pleasant :) Good job. Not often a game is this feel-good.

Wow what a beautiful and unique game, loved almost everything about this game, the sound, the aesthetic, the feel. Great job!

I really love the concept! well-made 8-bit character and environment! although on some part might make player stuck and require them to hard reset their game. But, overall great game!

Loved the concept. The art was great. Nice job!

Submitted(+1)

I love this art style, the whole game is looks and plays fantastic.  The sounds are so good too! It was so peaceful to play (other than the platforming lol).  Great job you guys!

Really cute exploration game. sadly the controls were a problem, the camera sensitivity was CRAZY fast, to the point that I would fall of cliffs because small gentle movement of the mouse would make be go 180 degrees. Maybe the the movement is frame based instead of time based ? Kind of feels like it.

Wholesome game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback :D we're definitely still figuring out movement in first person etc. and we think there might be a bug with the browser vers where the camera sens was way too high.

Wow super creative and beautiful game. Pokemon Snap vibes! Lots of nice detail and I love the splash when you fall in the water, haha! Nice icons and tutorial, good all around! I hope to see more.
