How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
The game has 2 bosses to fight, and "on the edge" is fullfilled by the view that let you see only the edge, the crawlers are also on the edge, and you can walk on the edge ! (And the action take place at the edge of a world))

I really liked the atmosphere and the lighting system. Only complaints I have are about the controls for the magnetic boots flipping on every ceiling and that the enemies deal so much damage so quickly that the surprise enemies are very punishing. Great work!
Hi! I really liked the lighting system, music and overall atmosphere of the game! If I had to improve just one thing I would choose the feedback when you shoot your weapon and I would add a personalized mouse cursor.
But great game! It's one of the good ones!
This was really well done. I enjoyed the sound design and art, and I had a few genuine scares while playing. I love that you didn't animate a bullet (as far as I could tell), but you had impact animations. It made the world feel more grounded. The game is pretty brutal though! Checkpoints would be really appreciated, especially because I think jammers want to see more and more of this game, but starting at the beginning after each run started to get tedious.
Excellent visuals. Great design and scary atmosphere. Incredible solo dev submission. I dug it. Good work.
Thanks for the feedback. Indeed there are checkpoints but indubitably too far... My bad.
I really enjoyed this! Art looks good, the ambient sounds fit the game well and the lighting was cool. Few things i would've done differently are the enemy placements and camera smoothing. Enemies were placed placed in blinds spots quite often where you'll take damage before you even know they're there, and cause the checkpoints were so far apart it was really difficult to reach the next checkpoint. Camera smoothing's just kind of nitpicky, but the camera kept turning even when i wasn't moving my mouse if i held the cursor close enough and i wasn't a big fan of that. Really cool game either way! Well done
Thanks for the feedbacks, that's appreciated.
Very nice game ! Liked the ambiance & the tension in the game.
Little feedback : Some of the critters position seemed a bit unfair (right behind doors or corners where you have no way to anticipate an attack) which is great for the ambiance since you never know when or where you'll get attacked, but in term of gameplay get a bit frustrating.
The first boss looked very blurry (i guess its a critter but scaled up) maybe redraw it at the right size ?
appart from that, very good job ! :)
Thanks for feedback. For the midboss, I ran out of time and did not replace the placeholder...
Nice game! I liked the flashlight mechanic, added a lot of tension. Maybe the mouse sensitivity is a little too high for me but I still managed to finish the game. Very satisfying!
Thanks for the feedback. I was afraid no one fight the last boss :)
Nice platforming and Fog of War mechanic, it felt quite dynamic. I would recommend a minimap that populates with what you have explored.
Thanks for the feedback. A minimap is a good point if there is a future for this game. Noted !
Really love the concept of this game. Definitely one of the games that have a really good interpretation of the theme integrated into it. Really love the atmosphere it was able to set as well. Great Job!
I absolutely loved the animations! It was a very smooth game, a bit hard for a noob like me but I enjoyed it!
What a solid entry! Congratulation on the project!
Loved the atmosphere of the game, made me want more :)
Atmosphere 10/10. This was very neat to play. A crosshair would be nice and maybe a better hit indicator for the crawlers. But i realy enjoyed it. It gave you this: i wander whats one more cave below feel. keep it up :)
The creepy sci-fi-horror atmosphere was so good.
The way you rotate the sprites looked a bit odd. Like Paper Mario. Maybe flip them instead?
I like how you placed crawlers to create jump scares. I didn't like how they sometime happened to be sitting at the top of a ladder, so I immediately died.
I'll be honest, I'm not very good at this game. I'm glad you put a boss mid-way, because I'm probably never going to reach the final boss.
Overall, very engaging game. It had that "one more try" feeling.
Liked the mystery and exploration to this game, had a good sense of dread using the flashlight. I had a little trouble with the camera showing much more of the ground than i wanted, sending the player to the top of the screen but overall clever design and visually great, nice job!
Check out mine if you get a chance https://itch.io/jam/vimjam2/rate/1200495
check points made the game way better
I'll start with what I think could be better:
Then:
Thanks for submitting that :)
Thanks for the feedback. At the beginning, I was thinking with 10 days, I will have plenty of time for polishing. It didn't go that way...
Is this your first jam? If so, that's still an impressive amount of work for 10 days.
It's not my first jam. I just never manage to manage my time effectively !
Man nice concept, I relly liked having fog in 2D shooter, I am imagining myself doong a game like this trully.
2 things to point out, the camera mouse follow is to fast and to strong, make it more subtle, and make checpoints, so I dont need to restart the hole level if I die.
nice entry
Thanks for playing. There are checkpoints but surely some more would be great.
uff I have to play your game again then
nice game, the only two critiques:
overall, the game is pretty good, and the boss fight was easy but still enjoyable
Art and mechanics were pretty good. Some of the level design made things difficult and being able to see a bit into the dark would be nice or even if the flashlight wasn't such a hard edge of what you could see and instead it slowly got darker.
didn't understand what to do. just got stuck and was immediately killed by enemies and couldn't do anything to defend myself
Thanks for playing. When you see the first enemy, go to the left and you will find the gun.
