How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
You play as the older brother, Christopher, who takes the role of leader/boss for his younger brother, Timmy, guiding him throughout the game. Regarding the 'On The Edge' theme: the art, music, sound and overall ambience emit an eerie atmosphere that's sure to keep you 'on the edge'.

ummh.... what did I just play? the music, art design, story is 10 out of 10, I just don't know where is the Boss or the Edge, but really, if you're going to continue this, this might get much popular in the long run, I have fun playing it, and also nightmares, great job!

Thank you! Wow! That's a nice review, ty!

The boss mechanic is that the older brother is the boss/leader of the younger one. And our interpretation of 'on the edge' is that the atmosphere and situation that the characters are in is pretty much 'on the edge' all the time: both characters are literally a few centimetres away from dying.

Thanks again for playing!

Immersive game with good animations, great art and with a bit of story. The puzzles were ok although I don't really understand the logic. Sadly I didn't fell the inclusion of the theme and the boss requirement was missing.

Immersive atmosphere. I like the minimalistic palette. I resolved puzzles but didn't understand the logic. To avoid repetitive sounds you could apply a pitch variation each time you play it (cheap and efficient). Perhaps you could have played more with this call mechanism, with some enemy to avoid, triggers to activate at the same time, and things like that. Overall this was nice to play, but felt it miss something.

ok ... your game has my attention ewe

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was really eerie and the art was really good, simple but effective!

The gameplay was promising, but in the end it didn't delivered a lot - it would have been great to have more puzzles, and I couldn't understand the one with the eyes (I somewhat solved it by chance). The mechanic of having your younger brother following you could have been explored a bit more (also, that 'X' sound was quite unpleasant).

As another feedback, during the dialogues I would have liked that the character that was talking was highlighted in some way.

Anyways, good job, I liked it!

(I'm not sure I understood what the ending was supposed to mean though.)

(Also, just curious, why the choice of Japanese for title and title screen choices?)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah... I know. I think we tried to do too many different things, and, in the end, every mechanic was empty.

But thanks for your feedback. I'll probably make some changes on the game.

The highlighting when the player is speaking is prob. a good idea, or maybe just showing a sprite.

Ty!

I know how hard it is to make a game is such short time. It's usually better to do less stuff but more refined.

You did a good job anyways!

Scary environment. I like the art style, especially the animations of the brothers. The two scenes at the end were unexpectedly scary! I had trouble with the puzzle, had to look at the solution, I figured out the order of the 3 buttons but didn't realize Chris had the ability to push buttons too. I also agree with ShidyGames, wish there was more.

Thanks a bunch! It was my second game as a programmer, and the first for the graphic designer, so it really was a challenge to pull out everything on time!

Definitely, the main puzzle could be easily improved. Puzzle design is not our strongest skill, and when we put everything together (the last day), there was no time for test or anything. But we learnt a lot!

Thanks for playing!

The game looks amazing! Sounds and music are also super cool (except the 'X' sound that I've been spamming all game, which kinda ruined the immersion).

The puzzle looks cool, but I didn't have time to figure it out because on both my playthroughs I successfully brute-forced it before I could understand anything. The fact that all the controls are introduced in the game in an easy-to-understand way is also a really big plus.

Additionaly, (I don't know if it was supposed to happen or not) my screen was getting weird lags from time to time. Also, I didn't understand the level with the mouth, was it supposed to reset whenever I clicked 'Z' on the eye?

In any case, the art, music, sound, and overall ambiance are absolutely magnificent.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Definitely, there are some major mistakes with how we designed that puzzle! We'll change it after the jam, just to have a better and more enjoyable game.

Your lags weren't supposed to happen. I have no idea what could have happened, other friends and contestants that have played haven't mentioned that. There could be some crappy code somewhere, but it shouldn't, cause' all the programming of the game is quite simple.

And yes, the last puzzle was supposed to reset everytime you clicked on the eye. That was the main idea, that you had to simply 'give up'.  We may change that as well, maybe giving it a twist.

Thanks again!

It's a pretty cool looking game, with an interesting ambiance. The puzzle is super hard to be fair, I wouldn't have succeeded without your comment here.

I feel the overall game is very cinematic but kinda empty. You jump a few platform, press a few buttons, and you're done with the level. I wish there was more puzzles or interactions to play with the two-characters combo.

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. More interactions between the 2 characters combo was the idea, but It was kind of difficult for me to program, and we had to choose. In the end, we decided to put that time into the last 2 scenes instead of in something more related with the 2 characters.

I was programming everything but myself, and it is just my second game, so It was quite challenging.

Thanks for playing!

The art is spectacular, the atmosphere is very immersive and makes you want to play it. I like the mechanics chosen to make sense of the jam theme.

Despite the difficulty of the puzzle it is very enjoyable. Congratulations for the work.

Thanks a bunch for playing! And thank you for your feedback!

3. The order is: First the second button, second the third button, third the first button. The last one is the fourth button.
