fun game! has a cool sound design and great minimalist graphics.  Gameplay feels juicy and impactful. My only complaint is that enemies feel a bit "samey", maybe adding some foes with different attack patterns could improve the experience.
The writing is great, liked the concept of being the main boss

Thanks! Yeah, you’re right. It gets repetitive quickly. I should’ve come up with some sort of variation mid-game.

Beautiful and polished game! I love that you can't touch the forcefield and the movement and shooting felt and sounded great. Also matched the theme! Good job overall!

I like the sound design. Very polished game. I'm a bit disappointed because I was thinking we were the boss. Great narration. With a good take on the theme. Well done.

Wow, this was awesome.  Very polished and excellent game feel.  It took me a minute to realize I was the boss (thought I was the little ship and the game just had bad controls).  Then it finally dawned on me and I had a blast.  I'm a little sad for that first guys family but, he shot first lol.

Thanks!

fun game although the enemy's are a little too small and hard to shoot.

It is somewhat repetitive, but okay

This is the most professional looking game I've played in this jam. Everything is so polished: the graphics, the controls, the sounds, the cutscenes. Very satisfying to play, I enjoyed it. Good job!

Thank you for your kind words.

I appreciate how juicy this game is. Everything feels really good. I personally liked the bait-and-switch with the boss, I was trying to figure out why my commands weren't moving the ship, and then it hit me just fast enough that I didn't bump into the edge. I guess making the edge less damaging could help with the reveal, because it could be pretty punishing to lose all that health on a fluke, but again I liked it!

My points kinda just Echo what Xander said. I think it'd be easier to tell that you're the boss if instead you were tailing the dude and overhearing what they say rather than following the dude and them stumbling in on the boss. Other than that, pretty solid controls, the music game out pretty good and I like the bullet sound effects. Overall pretty good

love it! I'm making a video showcasing some of the games from the Jam, this game will definitely feature. You nailed the theme and humour was great, It took me longer than I'd care to admit to figure out I was the Boss LOL

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much! To be honest throughout development I was constantly nagged by the feeling that it wasn’t obvious enough that the player was the boss, and I was afraid it would feel like I hadn’t really used the jam limitation. But I was too committed to go back.

Of course feel free to feature the game in your video. I’m honored, really.
