Did you work in a team?
Just me - I did all the design, code, and art.
Music taken from Gruber's "Pico-Tunes 2"
Was the resolution a challenge?
Pico 8 made it not super hard but I wish I had a little more room for 8x8 sprites instead of 4x4

Fun game. I had quite a few frantic moments when trying to shuffle existing blocks while new ones kept coming in. Sometimes I wouldn't notice a new block coming in against the background, could've been because i was too focused on the existing blocks. Pretty satisfying making a 3x3 block. I thought I'd be able to beat the 2060 score, but had to give up after many attempts.
This is a very gripping game; I clench whenever a block connects in a tricky way, or slides off the screen. Puzzle games don't often get that kind of reaction!
It's visually very appealing, especially the colorful showers of particles. Almost makes losing worth it to watch the explosions.
Man, it feels so polished... What the heck!
Whoa! Very cool! A nice take on the Tetris theme.
Loved it, very challenging
It is very innovative, I like it!
A new look at Tetris, it was a lot of fun to play.
Very cool. The power ups make this game, very satisfying.
I really love this one.... it add a whole new spin on the Tetris game-play... and the different power ups really help add replay value to the game as well.
Really cool game mechanics idea!
Super hard though even using items
As a fan of action puzzlers and especially tetris, this game hit me in the feels. A really cool take on the mechanics. It's actually similar in certain ways to a game we did for a game jam a while back (Roustabout on my profile if you care to see). This game takes it in a much more action direction and I really enjoyed it. Got my butt kicked, though. Highest score I was able to hit was just over 1000.
I wish that there was a little more of an indication on what side pieces were coming in (even if it didn't show me which piece) so I could try to prepare the board a little better. (gotta find something to give meaningful feedback :) ). Solid entry and I had a good deal of fun playing this.
I will admit I didn't experiment much with telegraphing incoming blocks, I basically always left it as 'the block spawns, then starts moving in 2 seconds'. I'm not sure how much sense it makes to have both.
Took a pretty quick look at Roustabout, and there are some some similarities but they're more different than similar I feel. I always like seeing space optimization puzzles, though!
The core of "having a character organizing tetrominos" is really the similarity I was referring to. I really like the idea of that mechanic because it really does drastically change how you understand and interact with the game pieces. Kudos to your take on it, though -- it plays really well.
Super addictive but wow do I suck at this game haha
Very neat concept and the items add a ton of variety!
I think I would agree with other commenters that the gray-on-gray for incoming pieces can be a little hard to read, but other than that, the visuals are fantastic and very juicy :D
Great game! I played for a while before even realizing I could have other items! I think my best score is around 1500. My only issue with the game is that new pieces can be a little hard to see in your peripheral vision, I lost a few times because I didn't see where the piece was :(
Man this game really is addictive! Brilliant concept, just wish the pieces weren't as random. Do you think you could have tried either the 7-bag or 14-bag approach for the pieces?
Yeah, I'd like to use a bag after voting. The variance was something on my radar during development, but wasn't a priority just for the jam period.
This is a very original puzzler! Cool concept that’s easy to grasp but hard to master. The different items help a lot!
Lovely. Haven't made it very far yet with my slow fingers but I enjoyed the frenzied pace. Really good use of the limited space to exploit the claustrophobic feeling. All 5s from me.
Very interesting concept, I liked it a lot! It's tough as nails and there seems to be lots of different strategys to try out with items! Can you tell what are your favourites (and which ones are OP)? :D
I got 1440 on my best try (assuming left is the score I should focus on). Good game, I think I might have to play this again someday.
I'm not really sure which ones are best. I think they would be the dice, the bulldozer, and maybe the block and the laser. I think the destruction items have an edge over mobility items. I tried to offset that by making several of them less handy in a pinch (startup for laser and bomb). I kind of just spitballed the cooldown times based on my gut.
My favorites are the bulldozer and laser because they were fun to make, between the particles and the speedy movement.
(Yeah, left is score and right is time)
After a few attempts, you start to "get" this game. You begin forming squares like a boss. Then you die after wandering too close to the edge without paying attention. After trying it I find it much more creative than it looks!
I like this game. The sound track is a real bop. It is challenging, but not in an unfair way. Great entry!
Ha, I wish I could take credit for the music. I tried for a bit to make something myself but it didn't work out....
I tweaked the difficulty to be easier right before the deadline, and it was kind of rash but I think it came out better for it.
I LOVE this game! It's fun and addicting! I liked the progress posts on Discord, and I like playing the game even more! It has nice gameplay and graphics! =D
Thanks! I wanted to try and be more proactive about sharing. It's nice to get feedback and/or encouragement! Pico 8 makes it nice and easy to do proper gifs, which is super handy.
