Did you work in a team?
Only one poor soul.
Nah I'm kidding, it was a pretty fun project to spend a week on, not gonna lie.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Definitely was a challenge in getting stuff to fit in, text rendering was especially an issue until someone pointed me towards 4x8 fonts, and even then I had limited space for a menu and UI.

This game is fun to play and gives great player feedback. I especially like when you get a lot of combos in a row and the colors slowly fall into place with each other. Great work!

I think the audio design for this is very strong!

I mentioned this below, but doing fonts for a game this small was a real challenge. I couldn't really do readable dialogue with a font smaller than 3 x 5.

I liked the sound design, animation, and the overall vibe of the game. The 'click' of landing blocks in place is very satisfying.

My main critique with the game is that the player has a bit too much control. With the powerful abilities of matching tiles diagonally and holding blocks for later, the player can clear the initial state of the board within a few seconds of starting a level. From then, it's just a game of how fast you can sort the blocks into color columns.

Because of this, all of the fixed levels are virtually the same, except the ceiling gets increasingly difficult to deal with. Maybe I'm just missing a major aspect of the game by not utilizing combos well enough.

That all being said, I still spent a good while playing this game because you did a really fantastic job with Game Feel, so every move was very satisfying.  Nice work!

Really nice soundtrack you got there! Makes me want to move to the beat. Gameplay was also really enjoying - it has extremely nice replay-ability! (Though I have yet to try other difficulties)

Font was a problem for me, as well. I'll have to look into some 4x8 fonts. Once I realized the font I was using wouldn't size down and still look good, I just wrote all the text I needed by hand in Pyxel :).

This game starts out really slow, but I am also a huge fan of these kinds of games. The difficulty got to me before I got to the end, though. I started getting a hang of the combo system towards the end. The diagonal matching really mixes up the formula I'm used to with other games (puyopuyo comes to mind).

The only critique I can give you is to maybe play a bit with mixing up the music a bit. The loop was  a little short, so it started to get a little old after a while (to clarify, the song is actually very fitting -- I just wish it had a little more to keep it fresh for longer)

I really enjoyed this entry!  Great work all around.

I feel your pain. I managed a 3 x 5 font (except for the letters "M", "N", "Q", and "W") but I had the same issue where I had to hand draw all the text! It took up a lot of time, but one good side effect was that I could do custom font really easily.

Nice little game, had some fun with it. Took me a while to notice the number indicating the blocks left against the background.
