Great atmosphere on this one! Reminds me of a game I used to play a ton called Devil Dice -- but with an obviously darker theme.

It was shorter than I would have liked, but that's a good thing for me to be able to say. I would have liked to see some more gameplay incorporating the different kinds of enemies you started introducing. A great entry, overall!

Aaaah devil dice, a cool game ! We think about making more levels after the jam is over, stay tune!

I saw mark playing this game and I wanted to try it too!

Easily a 5 star rating for (subjectively). I had fun playing this game and the dark mood was really enjoyable.

I play a lot of DnD so rolling dice is my favourite hobby lol

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the rate ! "Lurking in the dark" is also a 5 star rating :)

I'm a huge sucker for the art style which drew me in immediately.

I had no problem with the arrow key controls in concept but did find myself wishing I could hold down the arrow key to repeat movements in the same direction.

I beat the game really quick though and was left feeling like I wish there was a boss or really difficult challenge at the end. You were just starting to get into some cool ideas- enemies that move when you move, obscuring sight of isometric tiles. I guess I would've liked to have seen something that adds a little more depth to the puzzle aspect: maybe a level with limited number of rolls, or a trail left behind that you can't cross, something to raise the stakes a little. This might be not so much of a complaint as wanting to see more levels developed in the future- I really liked it!

It's a very polished game for a jam and I think you did the best job representing the theme of the games I've played so far.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for this comment ! We actually think about making a commercial game with this concept.

I didn't have a lot of time to make the level design, so i'm not really happy with it. It's gonna be better in the future ! Stay tune !

Super cool. Loved the style. I had to kind of turn my keyboard at an angle to fit the isometric view, otherwise I kept hitting the wrong direction. But I guess you'd get used to that after a while anyway. Good level design too! Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you liked it !

I found this game super rad and a whole lot of fun to play. You have the bones of a full game, and one that I would pay money for, in just what you've shown so far. The only real complaint that I have in regards to the game is that I wish that the enemies that moved and the enemies that were stationary were visually distinct in some way. It didn't matter in the little demo that you made, but any attempt to put both types into a single level would be hindered by not being able to diferentiate the two appart

Developer(+1)

Actually, we think about making a bigger game with that concept. And definitely yes, we're gonna change the look of the moving enemies.

Thank for the comment !

the aesthetic is awesome indeed. Good level design for this kind of rolling game, congrats

LOVE THE AESTHETIC! Never seen that kind of puzzle gimmick in a cube rolling game! Really liked it! Would love to see more!

If you get a chance, check out mine too! Thanks! https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462672#post-867118

This is one of the best ideas I've seen in this jam, and the execution is very polished as well!

Submitted(+2)

The atmosphere is amazing. the pixel art (especially the enemies animation) and the sounds are very eerie. The idea is the great and the execution is nice. As someone with a weak memory, I sometimes forget which side had the ONE so if there could be a faint see-through color that points out where that side is in case it is not already facing the player, it would be helpful. Overall, absolutely well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment ! We think about fixing this issue after the jam is over, we have some solutions but we reflect to find the best one.

It is a great material for a larger puzzle game! :D

Developer(+1)

We think about it :)

I really like this game! It has really nice sound effects and is a nice challange. The animations are fantastic and the overall mood is very good! Great job!

Cool puzzle game. I already saw another game just like this. Yours looks a lot cooler tho. Curses ftw :)

This is probably one of the best and most polished games I have played so far in this jam. Stylistically it is incredibly interesting, evoking dark themes that really enhance the experience. Thematically alone I would love to see this as a full release.

The game is mechanically strong, while still being simple enough to understand very quickly. The only drawback I can think of, is that due to the isometric view, I found myself accidentally pushing the wrong direction on occasion, however that is a nitpick and is easily adjusted to.

This game was incredibly fun and I was sad to see there were such a limited number of levels, however due to the time constraints of the jam, this is not surprising and I do not hold it against you.

NOTE: This game could seriously benefit from a seizure warning due to the flashing effects (I often found my eyes twitching at them when played in full screen)

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback ! After i saw your note, I put a warning on the itch.io page for flashing effects. I'm going to put this warning on the game as soon as possible !

I liked it! The art style is really nice looking, the premise fits neatly with both the theme of the jam and with the thematic tones of the game, and the puzzles were challenging and fair - all in I really liked it, I can't really think of anything I can criticise

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

Interesting game, some of the text appeared off screen so I couldn't read it, however I figured things out in the end :)

Submitted(+1)

Same here. But, yeah, it was pretty neat!

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! We see that bug a too late unfortunately  :/   it doesn't appear in fullscreen mode.

Nice game! Especially loved graphics and glitches

At first I wasn't sure if I should be frustrated about someone else having a very similar idea, but then again, maybe it's nice to see other like-minded people out there :)

Downloaded and rated.

Feel free to check out mine as well
