There's been a fair bunch of single bullet games where you have to go and collect it but this is the first I've seen with interesting decision making with upgrades. This could make for a cool mix of say, titan souls and and rouge-like bullet hell like enter the gungeon. Great work!
This sure does fit the theme! And it's a bloody fun game to play, great job, your group done really really well!
I would love to see this game further produced, to be more polished!
Check out our game if you haven't I would really appreciate it!

Nice game, I really liked what you did with healing yourself. Being able to skip a power up to heal instead and only being able to heal after a level made taking damage something to be afraid of but not unrecoverable from.
It certainly did. One thing I would be interested in seeing added is having the enemies target you instead of just wandering around. It may make it a bit harder so you could limit it to just one enemy type comes after you. Maybe even make another that runs away from you so you end up chasing it into dangerous places. There is a lot you could do with it!
The best SFX and the mouse hover detail effect in this jam. Classical 2D shooting game. But you add more features such as add some bonus(level up) after each level. I am very likes your game. And Your thumbnail is fantasy. I am starting following you. Very nice.
(In some corners, the projectiles bound not very natural, looks like move horizontal. And You can add more UI on the gameplay such as remainning enemy or score. Otherwise, player cannot know when to win/end the level. Hopes you can rate for mine as well. )
I've seen a great deal of "Throw a thing and go pick it up" games in this jam, and I can honestly say this is one of the better ones because it tries to make a game outside of that single mechanic, with additional roguelike elements really made the game feel unique.
I do think that design-wise the game is not quite there yet, but with a few additions here and there in things such as graphical, sound, and content quality, this could easily make it to a full release as an arena style twin-stick shooter with roguelike elements.
Such content could include extra levels, characters, abilities, multiplayer, enemies, level hazards, etc.
This game could really benefit from moving away from the jam format and being allowed to flourish on its own.
Holy cow, this is one of the funnest games i've played in this entire jam! There's something about the dichotomy between the empowerment you get firing off your bullet to deal loads of damage, and the "ohshitohshitohshit" of attempting to dodge and weave between enemies to retrieve your only means of self-defense.
My game can be found here: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461016
I didn't think it would be that fun from the thumbnail, but I was surprised! It was a fun game and the concept of one bullet was executed very well! The escalating difficulty was steep but I enjoyed it :)
Also, here's our game - you can only move boxes in ONE direction! https://redpickxel.itch.io/stubborn-boxes
Love the idea, really liked the upgrade system at the end of each level. Decent graphics; would've liked a little more variety in weapons or enemy design but really good for 48 hours
A ton of fun. Full 15 from me. I love how high the skill ceiling is. My only issues really are just bugs, like how you can get the same upgrade presented twice in one level, or how enemies can clip out of bounds and be invincible.
Thanks for playing. Happy that your appreciate it :)
You can get twice the same upgrade. It's wanted, really it is. I don't know if you know the game Archero, that we were inspired to do ours.
I'll explain you simply. We choosed to have a pool of upgardes, each upgrade has the same amout of chance to appear. The program choose 3 in the pool (where there are many times the same upgrade). That's it, simple.
I can understand that you don't like, but many games like ours, do that. Check our Archero if you will.
And for the enemies, yeah it's anoying, we will investigate on why it's happening after the jam. But yeah... 48h bugs I supposed :D
Thanks again ;)
Cool little game, i think it needs more feedback when you kill a enemy, and when you shoot, but i like the rogue like element of choosing an upgrade at the end of the level. But cool idea!
Love the sound effects and the roguelike elements of being able to select upgrades after each level! I found myself needing to select health almost every level. If there was some other way to get health to alleviate that need that would be awesome, or I'll just have to gitgud!
I quite enjoyed it, really quick and fun , a trajectory path of the bullet while holding down could be great to help plan them multi-hits, good work!
