Has a lot of potential to be an fun game, might work well as a short mobile game.

I enjoyed playing, the first few times I didn't get much higher than 1 but once I got the controls I managed to play a bit better.

It is a little hard to play , but you have a cool idea ,with potential .Well done !

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I'm currently trying to explore it's potential and coming up with new ideas, cheers!

Like the simple artwork :) I too found it too hard. I also thought maybe I could deflect bullets with the force wave. I think it needs some tweaking but overall good job! :)

Developer

Deflecting bullets with the force wave is a neat idea, I'll go test it. Thank you!

The game is really really hard. The controls are interesting.

Nice job in 48h.

Try mine ;)

Thanks, will do!

This was hard. But I found I took to the controls quite easily. As others have already said, it would be nice if the pulse had some effect on the enemies. But other then that, this is a fun game, and I enjoyed playing it. Great job!

Developer

Thanks very much, really appriciate it!

That was surprisingly hard lol. It's fairly easy to bounce the ball where you want it to go ... but then you have to avoid it yourself, that's the hard part. Oh and the enemies of course. It would have been nice for the shot to maybe push back enemies just a tiny bit - just to help you get out of dodgy situations so you can survive a bit longer (since it is really hard anyway!). Cool idea :D (I also love the name lol)

Developer

This is great feedback! Yeah, I've been working on a mechanic where the player is invinsible after releasing a charged shot, so its easier to escape (the player sort of dashes through them), I hadn't thought of pushing back the enemies with the shot. I can see it being exploitable the way it is now but I'm gonna see what I can do with it (maybe having narrower bullets or something). Thanks very much!

Pretty cool idea. Would be cool if your pulse had some effect on enemies and the bullets, even if it was just minor. Would give you a few more options in defense maybe? Cool stuff, I liked it!

Developer

Thank you, yeah I've finished a mechanic that makes you invinsibe after realeasing a charged shot that helps defensively. And yeah, the pulses are designed to ignore enemies but a sublte visual cue could look really neat. Thanks very much!

A lot more difficult than I expected it to be but it was quite fun; just took some getting used to with the movement. I do quite like having one button with multiple uses; if I was to do this jam theme again that is 100% something I'd like to use. Quite a nice game!

Developer

Great to hear. I'm working on some ways to make it easier and more fair. Thank you :)

The controls take a bit to get used to, but it is fun once you get the hang of it.  I like that the ball only does damage once you shoot it, and making it do damage to the player as well adds a bit of strategy.  It would be nice to have a bigger room to play in to avoid being trapped by enemies, but other than that, well done!

Developer

Completely agree, I'm testing a function where you are invincible for a second after relesing a charged shot, it improves it a lot, wish I had thought of it sooner but hey, thats game jams. And I'm gonna work on scaling thing a bit better. Thanks!

It's a little awkward, a little janky, a little too "lots to do and not many escape options" all at once for my taste, but you know what? It's not bad! The dual relationship you've got with the ball is fun and the flames do a good enough job of communicating when it's dangerous.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, I completely agree, I didn't realise how much time I didn't leave to actually testing the darn game, so in the last our, I realised how awkward it is more new players and how easy it is to get trapped. I'm gonna work on it a bit longer and see if I can find an easy escape option that still uses the one button. Thanks again!

Took me a few lives to get the hang of moving and attacking, it's interesting having the thing you attack with also be dangerous to you.  Ended up dying on an enemy that was perma-death-spinning.

Could definitely use some sound effects and particles to help juice up the experience.  Arcade-y highscore crawlers really benefit from using any available tools to help invoke a flow state.  Love the faces on everything!  Definitely keep with those kind of aesthetic details in future works :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! yeah I wish I got round to sound effects and particles, I'm gonna keep working on this one for a bit longer and I'll definetely be using these aesthics for future projects. Cheers!
