Crazy good game for this jam, really nice usage of assets, and I was really impressed with the UI as well. Excellent work
Thank you so much!! Means a lot you liked it!!
The assets basically dictated the story... glad I was able to make sense out of them.. ✨
Short but a really good game, thank you so much for sharing your tiny world with us, well done!
Thank YOU for playing it!
And glad you found it short! Means it was interesting enough so peple want more content, haha!✨
I actually had to cut 2 extra NPCs out, one more puzzle, 2 maps and one cutscene, due to overscoping for just me working on it, haha! But I'm happy with the amount of content I was able to put in 😊😊
I loved the worldbuilding! What a magical vibe. For a solo game, this is seriously impressive and charming.
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it! I'm a big fan of fantasy and magic themes!
It was a LOT of work and sacrifices, but it was worth it!
Yours is on my list here to play too, I just have to go through a big queue here, haha!
This is really well done, amazing game!
Thank you! Happy you like it! ✨✨
This was very well executed. I also really appreciated the speed slider in the menu. All around great submission!
Thank you so much! It was super fun working on this project!
And the speed slider is native from the engine (Adventure Game Studio)... glad you found it useful!
(to be honest I didn't even know it was a feature... 😅)
This feels like a GBC RPG and the visuals, music and dialogue are really well done. The gameplay is fun too although I couldn't test everything. Lots of love and care went into this and it shows, surprisingly large scope for a jam game, great work!
Thank you so much! Yeah, the inspiration from classic old style games was there, haha! Glad you enjoyed what you saw!
And yeah, I ended up overscoping A LOT and had to cut even stuff out from what I originally planned, but I'm happy with what I managed to build!
I love the visual aesthetics and especially the NPC interactions. Also, the puzzle part is good.
Happy you like it!! The NPCs were a really fun part to design! 😊
Nice game, unfortunately a bit too short, but it would be perfect as a tutorial for an old-style rpg!
Hehe, Glad you played til the end!
Yeah, I initially planned 2 more areas, one more puzzle, a couple more NPCs and a cutscene, but time was really short for just me working.. haha!
But I'm happy with the mechanics I was able to test for my next projects ✨✨
Was really fun to play, I liked the dialogues and conversations with the NPCs!
Glad you liked the game and the dialog!
People say I'm a funny person, so I'm glad it was reflected in the game and characters! 😊😊
Wow, this game is cool, I like the mix of 2D and 3D or whatever sorcery is going on here
Thank you! The tools I used were paramount for me to use both 3D and 2D asset packs... 😊😊
cool, what engine is this?
Oh this software is "Pixel Over".. it's still in early access but it's amazing to convert 3D to pixel art...
All the other softwares I used are listed in the game page :)
Ahh took me back to my early days of point and click adventures! It's great that you had a save system in there too! Good job for such a short timeframe!
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I played a lot of those games back in the pre internet days, haha! The save system was default from the engine, but works nice for bigger games...😊to be honest I haven't even tested it 😅
It was a LOT of work overall (and my body is demanding rest, haha), but I'm really happy with how much I could put it for this entry! ✨
lol I know what you mean, I was deathly tired for about 2 days after the jam ended!
Used to love this kind of game early my gaming career(haha). Kinda big content for solo dev, great!!!
Thank you!
Yeah, same! I grew up with DOS games and 8/16 bit consoles, so they were my point of reference for this one... I'm glad I was able to add this much gameplay for the few days we got! 😊
Takes me back to the old Quest for Glory games. Very nostalgic. And even though there isn't that much content, the world feels vast and like there's a whole history and greater place out there. Very well done!
Happy you like it!! And happy you liked the worldbuilding!
I wish I could add more content, but I think the player can expand a bit in their mind how this tiny universe works 😊 Hope what I showed it entices curiosity!
Super cool! Great job and lots of content!
Thank you!
I'm happy I was able to add this much gameplay with the time we got! 😊
Whoa amazing work for only 1 person! I am always impressed at anyone who can can make different asset packs work together well! Love the retro gameplay - Congrats!
Thank you so much! yeah, it was a lot of work, haha!
The story and game design were made around the asset packs, so I could make sense of the ones I used inside a context.. Still some mismatch in color palletes and style here and there, but glad it worked overall! 😊😊
Great job! I loved it. Music, art, gameplay - all terrific. What a great game jam entry. Really impressive that you made this by yourself. Well done.
Thank you so much! ✨Happy you enjoyed it!
It was indeed a lot of work for one person, haha! (My body wants to get sick from the heavy workload strain, but I'm fighting to stay on top.. 😅😅)
But I've learned a LOT of project management and scoping for games of this genre... 💪
Solid work, everything felt quite polished and well thought out. Good creative use of provided assets and good music choices.
Thank you!! Glad you liked it!
The game design and story were HEAVILY reliant on the asset packs, so I could focus more on the coding and polishing... I'm happy my decisions paid off 😊
The music is from xDeviruchi and this playlist has been in my had for a big while... I love 8 bit music style!
Amazing job! This is a candidate for winning the gamejam. You even used the assets provided by gamedevtv. Just by the artwork looks like everything was a lot of work. The only things I can add was that other than exploration and history the game is simple, specially the puzzles (which is ok). If you would have added RPG mechanics it would have been even better. Very good job!
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I actually had to cut out one more puzzle, two NPCs, 2 extra maps and a cutscene, because of overscoping... haha 😅! So I decided to go with one simple mechanic that is classic of the genre, so I could provide a small experience for the audience..
Maybe I can do RPG for a next game, now that I get better how things work.. 😊😊
Way to go with this project! It has a nice feel to it overall. I had a nice smile at the start seeing the sprite colours change as it walked in the dark areas.
Thank you so much! Going over the details was fun in this project! I wish I had time to do more polishing, but I'm happy with what I managed to deliver 😊
I loved the retro style and the music, and the story was really well done. Good job!
Thank you so much! Happy you like it! 😊😊
