haha, no worries everyone's brain was fried

The game gives me "American McGee's Alice" vibes which I haven't played in 20 years, so I'm not sure how that's even possible (or if it's even at all similar), but it ends up being a cute and innocent game.

That's why I was asking, I saw you mentioned that and I thought it was a good idea with a decent result since AI seems to struggle with making the same character in different settings. Thanks for answering, didn't know ChatGPT could do that! Hope it didn't sound like I was just criticizing the use of AI 😅

"Made for the Unity 2025 Game Jam!"

Was this made for a different jam? That one ended months ago.

Cool game either way, more games need jumping spiders

What AI did you use for the art?

Great game, also I would like to know what the brainstorming session for this game looked like 😆

Wow, this game is cool, I like the mix of 2D and 3D or whatever sorcery is going on here

Thanks, I have a feeling I'll hate spiders even more after playing yours (except jumping spiders, they get a pass).

Wow, thanks for the feedback and playing through the whole thing!

Thanks for trying out the early test build 😅 definitely going to balance some things after seeing the gameplay video

Edit:

Also, just in case, it should be stated that the video does not reflect the current gameplay. It was an early build for testing but happened to be public at the time.

Great job on this!

My only critique is that I didn't notice the UI at the top showing active effects. I initially thought blindness was just night, then assumed it was a status effect from a bullet. The effect also feels a bit too strong.

Ha, thanks!

Never mind, I tried it again and I just didn't realize there was another set of levels. Titan was easier than the previous waves, and the marker didn't move to the skull, so I thought he was just a mini-boss before the boss fight!

This game has aura 👍

For some reason my game just loops back to beginning after titan, can't fight the boss in the screenshots

Great job with the style and visuals on this!

My only critique is the very long rounds and it being a bit too easy.

Awesome, I was hoping for some roguelike/dungeon submissions!

Chefs kiss on the art and juice 👨‍🍳

I love this kind of game but the blurry double vision CRT shader was a bit too much for my eyes, would like an option to disable it.

I liked the gameplay but the bullet dropping sound was very loud and unsettling. And using Mindustry assets is wild, I love that game 😆

Neat game, also only being 57kB is crazy—great job on it!

I guess I confused the open source requirement with "source being visible". It wasn't entirely clear to me that it must also be licensed as such. (not a problem I already updated it to MIT license)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try one hp enemies

Thanks! I spent a lot of time on behind the scenes stuff, but I'm hoping that time spent will allow me to make a more complete game in the next 5 days or so.

Really enjoyed playing and listening to this, and loved the demon characters!

Really fun game! I totally forgot to use my cards on the board a few times and paid the price 😅

Really cute game! And I liked the unique card-combining mechanic.

The game is simple but made good use of assets and implemented the theme really well. Great job on it!

Loved the intro and also liked the audio / visuals!

Good job, and cool idea!

Great job on this! Love the art and setting

Thanks for the feedback!

The license requirement is not listed anywhere on the jam page or in the challenge description. I will take your word for it but in the future may want to have the jam organizers make that clear so that you don't have to copy/paste that info on 400 entries.😄

There is music but it's random, sometimes you just get ambience and no music until the day/night changes, this is intentional. (unlucky!)  The disappearing objects is intentional too, the player can wait for something else to spawn and it naturally cleans up old objects as the tower / play area gets higher.

A few people had issue with it not submitting, you can go to Discord and post in help channel to get it added

Great pack! :)

I especially like the paddle and background.

Had no idea linking you would also send you a notification... 😅

A breakout pack would be super helpful! I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm hoping to make better use of your shmup pack in the next week also.

Thanks for checking out my humble attempt at making a game!

I submitted mine 5 minutes before it ended only to find out itch didn't actually submit it 🙃 Now I have to undo the damage from rushing for no reason and finish it...

Edit: Guess they have late submission help on Discord.

Good idea, and very impressive for two weeks 😄

LF casual team for the jam but my requirements are strict:

  • Godot v4.4.1+
  • English (reading/writing, don't need to be able to speak it, but should understand written tasks/game ideas well)
  • Age 18+
  • 2D only
  • web support (Godot's compatibility mode)
  • use Git/GitHub
  • use some kanban board like Trello
  • AI usage allowed (+prefer commercial use allowed tools only)
  • Free assets allowed (+prefer commercial use allowed license like CC0 or attribution)
  • Properly track and credit any assets / tools used
  • Beginner friendly (+prefer easier project)
  • No commitments - no one is required or pressured to stay, just communicate it so others can take over tasks.

I'm a beginner myself, and I prefer to code / avoid making art for now. You can check my previous attempts at jams on my profile (hopefully I'll have a few more before this one starts). For the workflow, I'd like to plan a game together, then simply assign roles/tasks and we each complete them at our leisure.

Thanks for the review! It does have one subtle hidden challenge/goal mentioned in the description, "making it to space".

Thanks for the review! The quit button is for the desktop versions in the downloads, didn't have time to remove it for web 😆
