This reminds me of the classic Tower Building game, but with a higher level of challenge in the controls!
I think it could be even better if the game provided clear goals, like reaching a certain height to succeed, or perhaps included level-based objectives. That would give players a stronger sense of progression. Nice job!
You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category).
The physics in your game are really great. Well done - it's hard to get that working. Graphics, artwork, and colours all fit nicely. I'm enjoying the sound effects. Maybe add some music too to make it a little more engaging.
Liking the background colour changing. Interesting take on the theme. Sometimes the objects in the "sky" disappear, is that intentional? Great job on your submission and rather addictive.
Thanks for the feedback!
The license requirement is not listed anywhere on the jam page or in the challenge description. I will take your word for it but in the future may want to have the jam organizers make that clear so that you don't have to copy/paste that info on 400 entries.😄
There is music but it's random, sometimes you just get ambience and no music until the day/night changes, this is intentional. (unlucky!) The disappearing objects is intentional too, the player can wait for something else to spawn and it naturally cleans up old objects as the tower / play area gets higher.
Yeah I'll make sure this criteria is written for future; but it's also a very normal thing that if you have an open source project, it was a README and license (that's industry standard rather than "hackathon" or "game jam" criteria). There were also 125 entries in the open source category, so it's a good way to help filter entries. Great work on your submission and yes it was super fun playing your game.
Thanks for clarifying the gameplay and music - it was certainly lots of fun.
I guess I confused the open source requirement with "source being visible". It wasn't entirely clear to me that it must also be licensed as such. (not a problem I already updated it to MIT license)
Yeah it's probably not written anywhere for the game jam, however a README and License is a standard requirement for something that is open source (industry standard rather than "hackathon" or "game jam" requirement). Great work on adding on in now though 😊.
Cool game!
Not having win nor fail conditions is a bit perturbing, but in the good way! The game is just here, telling us to relax and doing whatever we want. Nice concept!
As gamer, I would love to have "hidden" challenges to have more incentive to play. Maybe achievements? Or just an height indicator.
But maybe the game is sufficient as it is: a pure concept designed to let the player be the master of its fate :D
Thanks for the review! It does have one subtle hidden challenge/goal mentioned in the description, "making it to space".
Nice building game!
nice concept, fun to play)
I really liked the graphics and audio!
The gameplay feels smooth and really relaxing to play. Good job!
Super cozy and relaxing game! I really liked the art style and the chill vibe. The chain physics were a nice touch too. Great job!
Nice concept! I really love the idea! The no "wins and lose" mechanism brings some relax gameplay experience :D
Absolutely charming tower builder with a wonderfully relaxed "no fail" approach! Love how it cleverly implements balance both physically and through meaningful player choices. A perfect little gem to enjoy with tea and some chill time - impressive work for only your second game!
Fun game and matches the theme really well.
Fun game👍Good job

I liked stacking the blocks and trying to reach space. It’s relaxing to play, and the sound adds a good vibe. Great work, especially for your second game — keep it up
Great job!

It made me want to have some tea and spend some quiet time 😉
A very cute and well-built game. Loved the music and SFX - they suit the game perfectly!
