Like playing two games of inverted Tetris at the same time! What a lovely concept. Nice presentation and easy to read and understand, the only part I struggled with was missing some kind of 'current weight' indicator - it wasn't always easy to know where you should put the next block. Even so, on-theme and playable fun!

Hi all, thank you for your comments 👋🙂
Please feel free to share your suggestions, I'm working hard on a post-jam version and would be happy to hear your wishes.

Nice work! I really like the way you combined Tetris mechanics with a balance system. I think it would be even better if the game showed the current weight on each side, as well as the weight of the upcoming blocks—that would help players plan ahead more strategically. Also, allowing players to rotate the blocks could add more depth and variety to the gameplay. Great job overall!

Good job.  I liked the sneakiness that you can't rotate.  Also noticed belatedly you can move the single-tiny-square under the overhangs.  So folks look out for differences-from-Tetris as well as similarities.

Gave you an itch follow, if you like the things on my page(s) consider doing the same.

Pretty fun take on the theme!

Use of tetris blocks is interesting too! Loved how the sound provides some cue about the height of the tower.

I liked that there is a chill mode as well.

Thanks for making this!

Developer

Thanks for your comment. I was very happy to be able to provide two modes, and the chill mode made debugging a lot much easier ðŸ¤«

Cool take on Tetris that incorporates the theme superbly. My favorite sound effect was the buzzing sound that progressively became louder as blocks approached near the top of the screen. Background music would have greatly enhanced the experience.

Nice and original, good job!

i like the idea, tetris always work

the 2 Tetris towers is a cool concept

Developer

Thanks, I enjoyed your submission too.

Overall solid submission, well done! One thing I wasn't sure was intended is placing blocks underneath other blocks whereas in Tetris everything has to enter from the top so it's harder to get underneath blocks unless there is a large enough gap to squeeze through

really enjoyed this split scale tetris idea

I can’t put my finger on what’s missing but it feels like an important gameplay aspect is missing. recorded me just learning how to play here - https://x.com/tariusdamon/status/1917048879909838891

Great twist on Tetris! very creative approach to playing a similar and known game! I really missed being able to rotate the pieces, but maybe the game would have been way to easy that way. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for your comment. You point it, rotate the pieces will be a rare and consumable bonus in post-jam version (earned by making double/triple/quadruple lines).

Submitted

As an avid tetris fan , it saddens me that the pieces cannot be rotated, although nice concept and fairly straightforward game nice work!

Developer

Thanks for your comment, despite the appearance the game is very different from Tetris, what is a bad piece placement in Tetris can be trivial here, and vice versa.

Nice game!
Interesting concept (might benefit from a few hints regarding pieces behaviour), pretty polished overall, good job!
Like others said, I wish I could rotate pieces but I guess the fact you can place them underneath the others + the 3 different options justify this design choice.

Developer

Thanks for your comment. Like you guess it, the ability to freely rotate piece added to the fact they can be placed underneath would make the game too easy. It's why I'll add it as consumable bonus in the post jam version.

Great game! I like it. It would be nice to have such a nice sound in the background.

Developer

Thanks for your comments. I've looking at music for the post-jam version.

Really interesting twist on tetris idea! The animation of the pieces moving up is very clean, and the sound effects are super on point!

Developer

I implemented the audio a few hours before the deadline. I'm glad you like it.

Pretty fun game and great concept. Just wish the pieces could rotate also! Great project and submission overall though!

Developer(+1)

I'm happy you've got fun.
Ability to rotate blocks is planned on the post-jam version as a bonus.

Submitted

What an innovative game! Playing it, I found myself desperately wanting the ability to rotate blocks, and for disconnected blocks to fall downwards by physics :)

Developer(+1)

Ability to rotate blocks is planned as a consumable bonus earned when making double/triple/quadruple lines.
About disconnected blocks, I'm thinking about it.
