Nice theme by the way ! but it was hard to learn about the game play and what's going on. i think some tutorial would  be great ! Rather than that it was a good game !

Took me a while to even find these towns and units I was meant to be managing, but I was able to keep up a solid economy for a few minutes before things started going unexpectedly wrong. The UI alone is pretty impressive for a game jam (the camera moving as you select things is a really handy touch), and having more than one villager sprite (and animated) is just neat. I would love to be able to get farther and see these little towns expand across the whole map. Cool stuff!

Good game but it is hard to figure out what resources to collect and what a crafter can use to create products. Have tried couple of times didn't go far. Watched your video on how to start and not to loose instantly. So in game tutorial will be nice. Love the manager decreasing laziness sound)

Developer

Thanks for the comments!

We definitely need to add an in game tutorial to explain things. We just didn't have time to add it before jam submission.

Excellent game with nice sounds and graphics! Loved the automations!

Lots of work seems to have gone into this!

Beautiful game overall! The SFX is absolutely amazing!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! Speech SoundFX, a gigantic playarea, autonomous workers, nice music, ... incedible!

Great entry!

Thanks so much!

All voice credit to uncertainman over at freesound.org for his incredible voice packs!

kruffin did the majority of our base game and code, so shout out to him for making this project happen!

Good game!

Great game! I didn't struggle with money like the others mentioned (I like RTS/idle games *shrug*), and would like to see more uses for money and/or other challenges if you develop the game further.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We are considering developing the game further because we have quite a few more ideas between us that we would like to see implemented. We kept our scope pretty small for the jam and still didn't quite put all the features that we planned in, because of, you guessed it, life! Feel free to follow me and/or all of us on here for updates!

I really like Idle games, I find them to just be relaxing. And man once i figured out how this game worked I didn't want to put it down. I kept playing after I won just to see how bug I can really get. I hope you keep working on this, I see a lot of potential in this. Overall this is one of the best entries I played so far.

Developer

Thank you so much! Feel free to leave a screen shot with your highest score on it! I believe I posted mine below already, but let me see if I can find it again for you.

I love zooming in on the individual towns just to watch how everything is going. It's like a little microcosm.

This is quite nice and I can see the potential. The IDLE audience is steadily growing and I can see this game, if developed further, being a hit. Creating one for a game jam is no small feat. Good job!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Most credit goes to kruffin on the team for laying out the majority of the code!

Great game! At a quick 5 min glance, it was difficult to learn how to make money. These types of games of course require more dedication from the player, but in a game jam, the time we dedicate to each game might not be what each game needs. Super fun to look at the dudes going to work!

Great Idea, with lot of potential ! those little units actually do stuff which was a bit surprising

Developer

We appreciate it!

Very cool idea, and great work implementing it!
The rules are simple, which is great, but I also struggle with making money, I will need help as well!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Here are a couple of short (2 minute) videos on how to start a lasting town build in Idle Hands:

I really like this idea, but it felt impossible to make money? I tried a couple times, more workers, more crafters, managers, but basically always lost around the 1:15-minute mark. Gotta love that voice acting though!

Developer

Thank you so much for trying a couple of times! I will post a couple of video links shortly that contain examples of how to get past that mark.

All credit goes to uncertainman for his incredible voice work and voice packs!

Thanks, now i get it. Of course, now it's too easy and i just keep raking in the cash (it's never good enough for those pesky players right :D)

Developer

LOL you got that right! Post a screen of your top money or time if you feel like it! I think I have one that I sent my fellow team the other night. I have so much fun just watching what each little town environment is doing once they are pretty balanced.

I think I had 8 or 9 towns at this point!

Me and the dev team would definitely like to develop our idea more and add in more options so that it is not quite so easy to keep raking in once you hit $100 or so! Thanks for giving it another try!

Incredible work!

Developer

Thank you so much! We poured quite a bit of time into the UI, UX, and unit behaviours and we hope that it shows!

Developer

Thanks!
