I really like what you did with the knockback physics to the enemies instead of just giving them HP. It felt really satisfying and added a fun layer of strategy. Great job!

Love this! Difficulty curve is fair, the last level having to get to a position where you can actually knock the zombies off while balancing along the thin surface was challenging but lots of fun and very satisfying to complete. Extra kudos for the pure javascript and the 13KB! Great job!

13KB!? That's amazing! I really liked how simple the controls and objective were—it made it easy to jump in and start playing right away. I wasn't quite sure how it connected to the theme of balance, but I still had fun playing it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, glad you had fun :)

The thoughts regarding the theme for the game were "natures balance between prey and predators" (foxes eat rabbits, less rabbits to eat, less foxes survive, more rabbits to eat,... and so on) and the "loss of balance, when falling of a cliff". Yes, I have to admit, its a quite loose concection, haha.

Passed the game! It's nice to know that not a single pixel and sound was harmed :).

It's pretty cool that the body turns around after the mouse! Nice graphics and music.

As you mentioned in the description, the first time the keyboard didn't work, but after a reboot everything was fine.

I think an earthquake would add interest to the game in terms of balancing so as not to fall into the water :).

For some, the 13kb tournament half a year ago was not enough :D.

It was fun, congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I really like your earthquake idea!

For the case, that I manage to do a post-jam version this time (the signs are good, as I tried to keep the codequality higher that for my past jam-games), I will consider to add earthquakes (and meteor-showers, and lightning-strikes,.. woah).
Maybe as bonus-stages or something like that.

Really relaxing game — well done!

It would be nice to have options to choose your animal and projectile type.

Either way, congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thx for the Feedback, and nice suggestion! That made me think of a local multiplayer mode. Capture the flag, last bunny standing, ... Hm. I think, that will be in the list of future versions :-)

Finally I found some time to play your game and it played very good! I really liked how you introduced new mechanics and enemies step by step. Also the idea that you do not kill the enemies (directly) and need to push them from the platform is very good. The difficulty is also set very well as it gets gradually more difficult but never too difficult. I like the music, but maybe you could make it loop a bit better.

I also tried the gamepad and it plays very well. I had the impression it is more difficult with the gamepad, but maybe I am just an old keyboard/mouse PC gamer :D.

Congratulations to this cool game and doing the extra 13kB challenge!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for that kind feedback, glad you liked it.

Also thx for the feedback during development, over at the discord channel ;-)

I really liked your game and I was all set to post it as my highlight. However, then I played this super polished "Stacked" game and I had to give it to this game. I know it is not super fair to compare a 13kB game to a Unity game. Based on that I plan to do an extra shout out to your game soon.

Developer

😍 wow, thx!

There are really so many great games, I could never settle on one highlight. Every few clicks i stumble upon another gem...

Loved it!

I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category).

Enjoying the fact that the game goes full screen by default. Love that you were able to implement keyboard, mouse, and gamepad controls. Nice work! The graphics are super cute (bunny is so cute), the sound effects and music are chill and fit nicely with your game. The carrot cannon is very funny; love it, sometimes the collision controls aren't the best (ie. the carrot would go through the fox rather than hitting it). Very minor however and doesn't impede the gameplay a whole lot. Nice work on the game and it's fun and addictive to play.

The animation for falling off is rather funny, kudos.

Thank you for the kind feedback, glad you liked the game!

I'll have a look into the collision, maybe the checked area is simply too small for the size of the predators sprite :-)

Played your game in my video!

The idea of an "health system" based on staying on the platform or not is very interesting, I could see this with heavier or lighter enemies, which are slower and faster to balance (eheh) things out, the same could apply to bullets, heavy and slow ones, hard to land a hit but deadly if it does, or light and fast, easy to land a hit but requires multiple of them to throw enemies off the platform.
Also I love rabbits :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and the good suggestions

Woooow this is so impressive!!
Great gameplay, really cute and just overall a really well polished game.
Absolutely amazing how you managed to do this, great job!

Submitted(+1)

Love the whole vibes - the graphics and music and gameplay work really well together.

Also, a great wee game! Great job!

Submitted(+1)

Super cute graphics and interesting gameplay! You managed to incrementally increase the difficulty without making it too difficult with each new level. Well done, especially for 13kb!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely love this game. Somehow, while being quite simple, it was extremely fun. Everything feels so satisfying for some reason, even just the simple jump/walking of the rabbit. Love all the character designs and it is really impressive that this is less than 13 kbs! Love it :)

A beautiful and very fun game. I loved the idea of the game, the gameplay,

and the simplicity of the game. It was fun.

I'd really appreciate it if you could try out my game too, rate it, and share your feedback.

t would mean a lot!

Nice game. Probably my only complaint - I want more levels. I was just getting into it, and then the game ended :)

Really well done, and the fact that it’s all in pure JS is impressive (I peeked at the source a bit)!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks :)
Yes, more levels is my plan, but only with a custom level-editor.
I did not manage to create one this time, so all current levels are defined in the main file as setup-callbackfunctions for the level-scenes... a bit "quick and dirty", but this way also the level-reload after a "wet bunny event" was easy to do - just calling the setup up the current scene again :)

Good game, it's fun and with nice mechanics.
