Oh no, a zombie!?
Very cute and well made!

Seems like that it was cooked by the professional chef 🤌. Love it I mean just wow, The great implementation of the theme and great concept. Had a great level progression . Loved it man. The rabbit and everything just wow

Developer

Oh thank you for the kind words. Well then: Bon appétit :)

Family friendly fun! Very hard to see how all of this could fit in 13kb. The game loads quickly but generating the graphics take a long time.

Developer

Yep, thats the downside of generated graphics for small game-sizes.
The game creates 360 images for each character (bunny, fox, wolf, lynx, coin, bullets,...) upon startup. And a bunch of terrain-images.

Family-friendly was one of my goals :)

Loving it. Excellent entry this year. Was there a 13k challenge or could you just not help yourself?

Developer

Thanks!

No, there was no official challenge.

Just my inner js13kgames-demon on my right shoulder.
Accompanied by its good 13k-counterpart on the other shoulder...  :-)

Congratulations on making a game only using vanilla JS. That in itself is amazing! Regarding gameplay I think the game could work without you having to grab the coin after the wave of enemies. It doesn't really add much to the game, and it becomes tedious. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for your constructive feedback. I initially planned to add more stuff to the gameplay, like traps and triggers that would make it not so easy to reach the end of the level (the coin)
They are even in the codebase, if you look at the sourcecode on github. But i did not manage to add them in a (for me) satisfying way in the two weeks.
And maybe that would have exceeded my (self-imposed) challenge of "max 13 kB" :-)

Excellent game made using pure JS! Cant believe it runs so smooth and the zombies were unexpected!

The progression and challenges in the game shows that the game design principles were followed closely!

I loved the music and the cute bunny! And particle effects!

Developer

Thank you! I always wonder that the games using a big engine (godot, unitiy, etc.) run so smoothly in the browser, as their codebase also needs to be converted (compiled) to javascript ;-)

Wow, love that you made that in pure JS and open-sourced it. The visual and audio feel mesh really well, and i love those little hops!

Developer

Thank you!

I also like the hops, it just makes the character even cuter :)

Very cute game, I like the style a lot! Seems well polished and overall fairly complete for a jam game!

Wow, what a brilliant game!!

Visually very pleasing, extremely smooth controls, great level progression, perfect music: chill in some ways, but engaging at the same time. Could seriously listen to it all day lol 😎

Awesome job of creating an “ethical” combat mechanic (surprisingly hard to code!) that’s satisfying but doesn’t “feel” cruel. I probably enjoyed pushing all the wolfies into the sea a little too much hahaha.

Really happy to see you made it in pure JavaScript - a refreshing change from most of the other entries this year!

I love it so much, amazing work. Very underrated. Best game so far.

Kudos!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Yes, I'm very proud of the "ethical combat". I came up with it, because I wanted my kids to be able to play it - and they love to push the foxes and wolfes into the water ;-)

The Game is nice, especially the sound! Also, I can shoot at the enemy’s bullets, very nice

Developer

Glad you liked it.

Really? Shooting enemy bullets? Hm... did not intentionally implement this. I'll check that. But thats a really GOOD idea for such games!

This make me remember about cartoon in spacetoon

Developer(+1)

Had to google that: a (pan-)arabic toon tv channel.  Cool.
Nice, that the game woke memories of yours :)

Really like this game! I ADORE the visuals and the audio was pretty fun! The level design is pretty good, with a gradual increase in difficulty. The final level specifically is my favorite cause it's frustating AND fun, and also rewarding to win!!

Great work!!!

Developer

Thank you :)
Nice to hear, that you enjoyed the difficulty-increase (I thought it was maybe a bit to fast, but i had no time left to add more levels...)
