Nice art, great gameplay, and great job on the tutorial! This felt like one of the most polished games I have played (and I have played/rated over 200 of the submissions in this game jam!). You should be proud of the work you've done.

Really challenging game. Great job!

I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category). I'd love to see more in your README too. Add what's on your submission page: https://valentino-collazo.itch.io/elemental-delivery since that's super in depth and I love all the emojis and screenshots.

Loving the menu page; beautiful animations, chill, easy to read the title. Music is great too, and fits the vibe you're going for. The art-style is awesome and I'm really loving the juxtaposition between the blurred background and the 8-bit graphics in the foreground, really digging this!

The inclusion of a tutorial is great, and I love that you changed "keyboard" to "runeboard", very on theme. Great take on the balance theme. Very interesting and creative controls. I liked the tutorial at the start, maybe have the first level without any platforms or barriers so the player can get used to the controls and the physics in the game without obstacles in the way. Also maybe make it so it's just delivering one of each on the first level; give players that quicker gratification to keep them in the game.

Great job on your submission and I enjoyed the physics in this too.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! it means a lot! The beautiful background is a single art piece made by Mercisla (you can find her portfolio on the itch description) and it as all the other assets and code in the game, are up to grab for the whole community. I really want to tidy up the read-me (not only decorations, but a small guide through the code) and the code itself, so it can better serve as a learning project for anyone interested.

Great insight on the tutorial! I will probably be changing it, incorporating your suggestions in the near future. Thanks again!

Anytime. You did a fantastic job on this game. Good luck for the final announcements.

Challenging game (specially alone), pixel art really well made, it certainly got the theme, nice work!

I think making it multiplayer will be the next move.It was kinda dfficult and lonely:( controlling the 2 characters by myself.Anyways you did an extraordinary job!

Submitted

great game, very nice art, fits the theme perfectly
I think I’d like the movement speed to be a bit higher.

The game is genuinely fun! But since I can only play solo, I feel like I'm missing out on the full experience@_@

Cool game! Fun idea, and great pixel art graphic, maybe it could use some enemies or additional obstacles?

Developer

Hi, thanks! we also thought the same, and even had some dynamic obstacles implemented, that we ended up not including for 2 reasons:

- They were not polished enough.

- Game was already difficult enough, due to controlling 2 characters, so maybe adding extra challenges had to be done extremely carefully.<

Glad you liked it!

Uh, nice game! Playing it doublehanded (twisting ones brain) or even as local multiplayer (testing friendships)

Very well made!

Very interesting idea! Reminds me of the old flash game of fire boy and water girl, but with a fresh new mechanics. Great work!

Wow! A fun and impressive game! It was very difficult to keep the balance, but I felt I learned the mechanics as I played. The physics felt smooth and fair, and the art is awesome! I had the music cut out on me a few times while I was playing, but I was not sure if that's intentional. I also found it a bit tedious to have to carry the blocks so far, but maybe that was part of the intention, so you balance how many blocks you take with how long the trip will take. The mini map was very helpful and everything was pretty intuitive to understand. Nice job!

Always love games where you controll 2 different characters. Love the music and the balancing theme is well executed!

Absolutely beautiful and so creative! What a love letter to fire boy and water girl with the theme of a balance. I loved it, great job! 🥰 10\10

Great music and vibes. I really loved the artwork too! The balancing mechanics were awesome, loved how both players had to work together. Super immersive, well done!

Great dialogue and I enjoyed the take on the theme! The controls did take a bit to get used to but the puzzles were fun and interesting.

It reminds me of the browser game Fireboy and Watergirl which I loved, the art is very beautiful and the mechanics are very clean, very good work

great game, feels very polished with the narration and tutorial,
getting stuck between islands is a bit annoying, but it also adds difficulty
