I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category). Awesome README with inclusion of screenshots, and the content tags. I like that you have a blog post on this too. It's clear lots of work was put into this project. You even released it and have release notes; Kudos.

Very comprehensive game; start and load (very cool), and even has user preferences I can set. The game is really good; maybe start just a smidge easier so the first one or two battles don't take super long. The balance theme is subtle, yet effective. And I'm enjoying the sound effects and music. You've also done a really good job on the graphics. Kudos for an overall great game.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed feedback! Good point on making the first few battles easier, I'll see if I can make it shorter after the jam.

Awesome, good luck ❤️.

Pretty nice game with excellent graphics! I think the controls can be improved a bit. Otherwise an excellent game, even for mobile phones.

Enjoyed a lot!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! When you say the controls can be improved, do you mean the UI or mouse/keyboard?

Thanks for playing!

Although the visuals are a mix of different asset packs and sources, I appreciate how they fit together. Also enjoyed the turn-based combat, original!

Selecting the skill upgrades and the shop upgrades in itself was fun enough! the combat was also fun, so very solid entry! I accidentally clicked on passing my turn (I was clicking the screen to let text pass quickly), so maybe another UI solution other than "dialogue selection" might be more apt. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Good point about the UI so players don't accidentally misclick.

Interesting concept! I liked how I had to balance my energy points on what kind of moves I'd make per turn—sometimes got too eager when I should have conserved them lol.

Nice, I'm glad you had fun with the mechanics!

Cool game! By the way on MacbookPro M4 I got some slow-downs (Brave Browser)

Thanks for the heads up! I tested the game on Chrome but didn't check if there were performance issues on Brave.

Thumbs way up!! I liked the atmosphere that you created and the choices had me thinking hard before I clicked.

Small glitch: If you click on the background after selecting attack the options return but re-rolled. So you can just keep clicking attack then click on the background till you get a better "Heal" or "attack" result.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Good catch on the bug, I'll look into fixing it after the game jam.

I like that you have to make a decision on every aspect of the game. Having to decide between increasing stats or enhancing your abilities is interesting. Also knowing how much damage your attack will deal, or how much you will heal is a smart approach to avoiding the player from spamming attack until they need to heal, and spamming heal until they are full hp.

Developer

Appreciate the feedback! My goal was to allow the player to make interesting choices.
