This game is incredibly fun and amazing.

The graphics, music, and gameplay are perfect.

I can't believe this game was created in just 12 days. I think you put a tremendous amount of effort into it, and I appreciate that.

I think this game was severely underrated in the competition, so I gave it a well-deserved high rating!

Great work!

I'd really appreciate it if you could try out my game too, rate it, and share your feedback. It would mean a lot!

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words!

Very well done! This is the first submission so far where I've wanted to play more than 5 minutes. :) Seems well thought out!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Really fun card game! The music is really good. Game is easy to understand and play. If I had to say something the only lacking things would be the animations and graphics, but as said really solid game nonetheless!

Developer

Appreciate it!

I skipped most of the tutorials, but I can finish the game on my first try. The game is really nice and playable. The visual feedback could be added more, but the current amount is enough for me to understand the game surprisingly.

Developer

Nice!  Glad it made sense.

Thank you!  There are two of us.

Congratulations on making a TCG like game for a game jam, really ambitious. I find the visuals kinda interesting as well hahaha

Love the Star Wars references! Really addicting gameplay. Sometimes the AI picks an option that hurts itself.

Developer

Thanks!  And yeah, sadly, we didn't have the time to add in decent AI.  Maybe if we update in the future!

I've played the game a few times. My favorite combo is white cards with a buff artifact. Good job 👍

This game was really fun and has a lot of potential! I love TCGs and I love space opera scifi so this was right up my alley.

The stuff I loved:

  • The basic mechanics of the card game work well and you did a good job of coming up with logical, cool, and interesting cards. The fungal tower and spore was a really good idea!
  • I loved all the different factions and the art, especially for the allies. So many cool and fun aliens! It brought me back to just creating freely with friends in high school.
  • Structuring the story/gameplay so that both sides used cards from all factions was a smart move to get the most out of every card you added to the game, especially with limited time!

Some suggestions:

  • Maybe have the tutorial element be a short game before you build your deck, otherwise we don't really understand yet how the cards are used. For instance, I didn't know that I would only be able to use one of each card per turn. I also didn't know how allies and structures worked yet.
Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  The pre-game tutorial is a great idea, and we'll definitely implement if we keep working on this.

Really fun, addictive game! Love the art!

Best game ever. Assassin combo with rabit is WOW. Almost killing in turn one. And killing fish to receive a lot life is also good. Nice artifacts ideas.

Glad you enjoyed it!  You can even go infinite with that combo if you play that Pact Soldier enough times. :)

Submitted

OMG. Can you already create a list of meta decks? LOL

Developer(+1)

Heh, sure!  I tend to go for 4 strategies based on what I pull:

Pact Aggro: Basically your strat.  Play lots of pact soldiers to buff your pact assassin, control the board in the mean time with blast/earthquake (or shatter if you're running brood artillery).  Renegotiate to pump out soldiers faster, and salve to mitigate the damage you take from them.  Probably the strongest if you can survive the early game.

Palewing aggro: Similar to pact, but with Palewing fortresses and soldiers/guerillas.  The guerillas are pretty good ally control on their own, but you might want blast.  This involves playing a lot of white, so you'll want renegotiate and spare parts with maybe a brood artillery to feed it and give you some extra board control.

Fish Food: Thalassari guards with for the greater good for tons of life and inside information as the win con.  Run lots of control and get that life total sky high.  Slow, but since you can bump life as high as you want, you can get super safe for the end game.

Spore Control: Flood their board with spores using fungal tower and cloud of spores to lock them out of the game, then burst them down with moldstorm.  Blast for problem allies, and maybe shatter, though a lot of structures are useless without allies and help you fill their board.  Probably the weakest of the decks, since the brood allies are anti-synergies.  I think I might add a clause like 'doesn't attack spores' to them if we update this.  In the mean time, if you want allies in this deck, run pact assassin.

I love the design of the cards and the strategic factor. Although I think the random draw each turn and the effects that destroy all cards can delay the duels a little to much.

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I think you're right about the sweepers.  The cards could probably use another round or two of balancing.  Already thinking of ideas!

The fact you attempted and succeeded at making a TCG is amazing! and it is even integrated with the theme in a very clever way! The game even has potential to be worked on! Congratulation!

Thanks, we appreciate it!
