super fun and addicting. really appreciated the various visual cues (e.g. the square becoming thinner and thinner as time ran out). the depth of progression is wild! i did struggle seeing the upgrade tree at first because it kind of blended into the space background but i figured it out eventually ^^" i also liked the "hold space to continue" + quick tutorials for new mechanics. the level of polish is crazy!! great work!!!
Thank you so much for playing!
We are kind of perfectionists ahahahah which I guess it is good for the game as we in fact care a lot about polish of every aspect and I am glad you liked the result, maybe less good for our mental sanity lol
Btw this is just the prototype and we are working on releasing the full game!
Today or tomorrow we will hopefully release this demo on Steam :D
I would love for you to enter in our discord server and wishlist the game on steam if you liked it!
Man, this was super fun! Quick to get into, hard to put down. The upgrades kept me going, and the whole thing just felt smooth. Big thumbs up from me!
If you get a chance, check out my two games too and drop a rating—would mean a lot, buddy. Good luck with the jam! 🚀
Thank you so much man!
We put a lot of time (eheh) into playtesting the whole experience, balancing costs and progression, so I really appreciate you liked it!
Will definitely try to play your games, but we are currently very busy and I don't know if we will be able to rate it in time before the deadline unfortunately :(
An excellent game that I really enjoyed. It was a fun game with beautiful graphics, music that suited the game, and very cool ideas. Well done!
I'd really appreciate it if you could try out my game too, rate it, and share your feedback. It would mean a lot!
Really polished game that deserves to be developed into a bigger title! I liked the minimalistic art and the sounds (especially sound of the shattering glass when the character dies)
Thank you so much!
Did you manage to beat it in the end? Btw I agree, I like the fact that you basically have 10 seconds of time if you don't actively recover energy with kills or energy orbs collection, but especially without the last upgrade it is very very hard to do so, I have to think of a fix maybe some more upgrades :D
I see, it makes sense, yeah with that upgrade it gets much much easier because you only need one dash and not two, so this means faster energy recover thanks to dash lifesteal etc...
If you liked the game consider joining our Discord for updates, we plan on making this into a full release on Stea, :D
I think I got all upgrades. From top side (on top of the play button), it literally say I can kill. But honestly I didn't understand how exactly I can do it. I was trying mouse buttons, and keys like space, e, q.
update: Oh, I didn't get all upgrades, just now I saw preview images. So, how I can kill?
Thanks!
Now I have finished the game
Final time: 1:57:08
Trials count: 251
Final boss was extremely hard relatively to the first part of the game.
Probably something wrong with life calculations. Player die but the energy exists (line that displays the energy amount), maybe energy drain animation is lagging behind the real energy amount.
And pointer position is not visible. This is very important. I bad understand where exactly the pointer and how much I need to move mouse and in which direction. This lead to incorrect movement, what is very important with such fast game pace.
Super fun! The mechanics are simple and easy to grasp, yet the game delivers a tense and exciting experience in under a minute. Dodging enemies feels incredibly satisfying and gives a strong sense of accomplishment—great job!
If there’s one small area for improvement, it might be the connection to the theme of "balance," which didn’t come through as strongly. Maybe adding elements of balance or mirrored controls could help reinforce that aspect.
I really think this game has great potential, and I’d love to see a full version in the future. The skill tree, especially, could open up a lot of interesting possibilities if expanded. Looking forward to what comes next!
Thank you so much!
Yeah initially the core idea was all about the economy upgrades, in those the theme of balance is central as you get a bonus but also the enemies do.
Then we of course needed upgrades to spend those resources gained by the economy bonus, and then at that point the connection with the theme was lost a bit as it got more diluted.
We realized it, but we did not want to be limited by it, and let the game evolve on its own, as it was fun to us regardless, even though I agree that the connection with the theme is not clearly evident.
Anyways, yeah we definitely are working on the game, and we plan to fully release it on Steam soon, I would love if you joined our Discord to receive updates if you liked the game :D
Excellent production here! Everything is juicy and consistent, and the level of detail in the upgrade system was a real surprise.
Incredible game. Well designed. The upgrade tree is well done. Great game and concept. I love the art and the music.
Pretty solid game with nice upgrades tree.
I dont know how the enemies killed my character without bumping into me. Lol!
I wish the blue circles would appear right after I consume the last one so that I dont have to roam aimlessly.
Thanks for making this.
Thank you!
The enemies are not the only way to die, there is a continuous energy drain that increases as the time goes by.
The energy orbs (blue circles) spawns every X seconds, you can increase the max amount of them appearing at the same time in the map and decrease the spawn time with the upgrades. The idea is that you have to be careful and not take them too early, wasting energy recover potential.
Amazing game! I got to unlock most of the upgrades before I stopped playing because it started lagging during the boss fights (the Chrome tab was using 3GB of RAM lol).
The game in general felt very similar to Nodebuster, but the gameplay in this one is way more active and engaging, so great job!
The game is great, looks and sounds really polished. I had a lot of fun playing it until I had to grind hard to get the expensives power ups... I found the boss hard as hell, in part because sometimes I got hit without seeing any direct contact. Said so the game is really fun, the power ups feels worth and the gameplay is simple but challenging. Nice work! (I don't see any real connection with the theme thou...)
Thank you very much, we are glad you liked it!
As for the theme, our original idea was to incorporate it in the upgrade tree, you should purchase them carefully balancing the greed of the economy branch (that makes you farm faster but also powers up the enemies) and the necessity of energy/movement/combat branch to survive.
We know it's not the best interpretation but we saw some potential of a game like this and as we progressed the development we diverted a bit from the theme, focusing on the gameplay, because we didn't want to get limited by it.
You beat it congrats!
We are very glad you liked it! If you want you can join us on Discord (https://discord.gg/HWhDVbYHGx), we are planning on making this to a full game, adding more content, eventually (if you want to rage again xD)!
Simple shapes and mechanics but super smooth and addictive! Loved how the meta upgrades kept the progression feeling really rewarding.
this is extremely good. from every aspect this is just more than a prototype. well done!
