You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category). Make sure you add a heading/title to your README. You can also add some screenshots to break up the text a little.

Loving the artwork style on this game; well done on utilising AI for it. I like the narrative you've built up and the sound effects on the buttons are a nice touch. Add some music at the start too to draw the player in more; I like the music going once the game started, super chill vibes and lovely.

Cozy game, chill vibes, fits nicely with the theme, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Maybe at the start where do the tutorial, say something like "explore each of the areas before spending all your moves". Ie. I went straight to the garden and walked around and immediately used up all my moves, lols. Slight glitch on the garden where sometimes I needed to press the move button more than once to actually get moving. It'd also be great if you could hover over things and the item would tell you what it does; ie. hover over the sword before making it and it'll tell you increase health or something.

Great job on your submission.

Thanks!

This is my first jam submission ever, and I didn't find any descriptions about open source submissions. That's why I have no license file — thanks for informing me.

Player can just press and hold a keyboard button for continuous movement in the garden (backyard). The gap between movements per second was a necessary technical solution to synchronize sounds and animations.

I agree that items need additional information, but due to lack of time, I kept some of the UI/UX very simple.

I really appreciate your feedback — thank you!

Yeah it's probably not written anywhere for the game jam, however a README and License is a standard requirement for something that is open source (industry standard rather than "hackathon" or "game jam" requirement).

Good work implementing the keyboard control for the garden too (I probably should have tried that). You did a great job on this game... I played it for wayyyyy too long 😂.

I liked this a lot. I was immediately intrigued by the sad back story intro. The only comment I would make is that it seems to combine to much mechanics and ideas from a lot of different game genres in just one jam game. Which was weird, but also surprising in a way: am i playing a farming game, or an adventure game, a detective game, ... It is okay to combine different mechanics, but keep in mind that you have to program, test and maintain all the interactions for every single mechanic. Which can consume a lot of time. Which leaves less time for polishing.

Thanks for playing!

You are absolutely right!
Maybe I shouldn't to make the game alone :-)

Really good game, good graphic and fun. The concept is enjoyable. Thank you.

Great game.

During the fight, I completely forgot I had health—I was so focused on movement! I ended up losing, even though my speed and strength were maxed out.

Thanks!

Interesting game. I like how the game looks and how you added support for different languages.

Thank you!

Cool and cozy game! I liked how you used AI generated assets, everything looks consistent and in one style

Very nice and cozy game! I think I would be better if I can start from where I left in the garden so I don't need to walk through the whole garden everytime. Also I finished upgrading everything when I have 100 coins so maybe you can give more upgrades? Overall it's an interesting game!

Developer

Thank for comment!

When you return to the backyard, you start again from the gate - I did this on purpose. The idea is that the player leaves the backyard and comes back to the entrance the next day. This also forces the player to plan movement points better.

More improvements - harder to balance. Especially within restricted time of the competition. But if there will be next version, I'll definitely make it.

Thanks!

Very nice game. I played it for quite a bit and would have also finished it, but the gameplay in the garden was very laggy and slow. I would definitely improve this. The game was very engaging and I wanted to make the 1000, I even battled my way through to find the key, but then it took me too long to walk through the garden. Some other things to improve are to give a bit more information on what the improvements really bring. At the moment you just need to guess. Another thing which was a bit annoying was that when you left the garden and game back on the same day you had to start again from the beginning. I think the position form this day should have been persisted.

Besides this, I really liked the game. The graphics are super nice, you can play it in your language (I played it in German and the translation was quite good), the different areas are cool and the most beautiful thing is the day changing animations. Very well done and congratulations to a cool game.

Thank you very much for playing! Thank you for such a detailed comment!

Lags in the garden - yes, I already found out about them after the game submission was completed. It depends on the drivers and video cards. I already found the reason and know what to optimize. If I will make the next version, I will definitely fix it.

Add a little more information - yes, I agree. There was just not enough time within the competition.

Multi-languages - thank you for playing in your native language! The game has a story, text. I have come across many other games with cool ratings, but due to the fact that English is not my native language, I often do not fully understand what to do in the game, and large texts simply repel the game. That's why I made it - for players.

Thank you!

The music felt super cozy, very nice!
I would have liked some more tooltips on what the equips or the stat boost do, as well as stats on enemies etc...
Also I don't know if it is just me, but in the garden it got super laggy.
These small tweaks would make it even better :D

Great story i love how the game fits the theme, You need to balance your moves and the emotion the game gives you is just 🤌. I wish i could have saved Dani's father

Developer

Thanks for playing and for comment!

I didn't think about possibilities to save Dani's father. Maybe it can have additional motivation and more happier story. Thanks!

Great use of the theme balancing daily activities! Super cute!

Well done maling all these gameplay elements in the time of the jam. The limit of moves made the exploration in the yard a bit too slow, and the need to go back and forth in different screens to sleep and go back was cumbersome.
The graphics and the music are pleasing, but I had a bug on Firefox that made the different locations appear black during the day as well, and the garden was also always black. The day night transitions was a pretty nice detail.
Well done overall!

Thanks for playing and for comment! I'm sorry you got bugs. Maybe chrome would have better.

It works fine on Chrome indeed (chromium to be exact).

Interesting idea for a game! Nice graphics! However, the location in the garden, where you can find various treasures - it lags a lot for me, I don't know if this is a common problem, but I tried it in Chrome and Mozilla without laptop charger.

I planted a full garden, I was getting about 20 gold per day - not bad for me, but for 1000 gold, I think I can't do without treasures :).

Developer

What kind of lags?

Yard level 2 has a key in random position. The key opens chest in the castle. It gives 500 and final dad's letter.

Submitted(+1)

When I take a step, that is, move around the garden, the movement takes about 10 seconds, very slowly, it feels like I'm playing a game for which the PC's specifications are too low.

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear that.

I saw a similar bug. It was related to the graphics card driver. Unfortunately, I can't fix it right now.
