Nice look to the graphics, controls are easy to get used to, music is pleasant. I'd say you have the makings of a great game! With additional sound effects and particle effects, I could see this being a killer game! I'll bet you could even make it procedural to both vary the game play and provide unlimited levels. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I do plan to make endless level in the future.

You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category). Make sure you take the time to fill out your README; you can even just add what's on your submission page: https://brianjiang.itch.io/electro-dash and some screenshots.

Vertical format would be perfect for mobile. Really cool and different game. Controls are really easy to get the hang of, very intuitive game. I can definitely see this working perfectly on mobile. Sound effects and music are great.

I like that the game feels super polished, clean, and your work with light is amazing. Nice job! I got 11870 on my first run, so that tells you it's a great game to get the hang of. I also enjoyed the dynamics (light to dark, spark balls for dragging in the power dots etc.) Well done.

Thanks for your feedback! I have updated readme and license, glad you pointed it out.

Nice work, I checked it out. All the best for future projects and jams.

I liked the game so much from Gameplay to game idea to graphics!

I wish the music was better and there were more levels... but in anycas, a great game! Well done!

I'd really appreciate it if you could try out my game too, rate it, and share your feedback. It would mean a lot!

Thanks for your feedback! Gave you a rate

High marks on everything except music which as a musician i reserve for finding out if the music has like deep variety (im kind of a chaotic musician so that's a high bar).  That said the constraints and the collision implications, like the complexity that this -could- later be developed into if it had like fifteen levels etc or a level designer, look really exciting.  Now theres like a stripe of people who were dead set against lets say Championship Pac-Man who were like "i dont like a game that isn't endless" who in despite of themselves enjoyed it better than 1980 Pac-Man where inevitably you got bored and suicided the pac-man.  I bring this up because this game is constraints based.  It's kind of combining that visual feel of the Arkanoid variant on Steam (Caromble? cant remember) where it pauses in the middle of each interaction, it's got that neon glow feel, with a node-based rails game but it's not a rails -shooter like M.A.C.H. 3 laserdisc.  I'm pleased with the bounce characteristics like you were rallying a multi-bounce like atari 2600 breakout etc.  I was a little puzzled if a perpendicular hit on a maroon colored barrier -usually- means death but -not- if you had no choice?  Because i seemed to survive some perpendicular hits that should have taken me out, but maybe my shield was charged.

Anyway if someone engages in a rating enough to give you that much of a wall of text it's generally a good sign.

Outstanding work.  Gave you both an itch follow, if you like my things after seeing my page(s) consider doing the same.

Cool game! I like it! Just two levels... , why so few? I would like to play much more!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! We didn't have time for more levels but will make them in the future

I think this works well, - with a bit of polish, maybe some more clarity as to movement (I sometimes felt like it dashed me 2x to the side when I clicked once, but wasn't sure why), this could work really well as a kind of endless runner mobile game. Good job!

Really satisfying bounce mechanic and smooth flow, and I love how relaxing the vibe is. Would be nice to see more mechanics and challenges in the future. Great job!

Iteresting mechanics, with satisfying lights effects and a very clear aesthetic. I would have liked to play more levels.

Maybe you can a speed mechanic, where players can speed up hitting the up key to increase their score at the risk of missing their jumps.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your suggestion! I'll definitely try that in the future

Pleasant visuals that went very well with audio. And the dark and lit transition is genius. But have the same bag with UI, when you open it on fullscreen on PC (there are two buttons, one from Unity one i guess from itch.io) from one button you can't see UI at all and from the other button it is waaay to huge, my resolution is 1920*1080

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The UI doesn't fit in horizontal screen right now, but I will work on it in the future

I didn't expect to be so in found into the game! It's quite juicy with very satisfying feedback and good ideas. The moment where the "light" turns off, and we can turn it "on" again by bouncing on walls is very smart.

It's very arcade-like while still being somehow relaxing...Would love to see more, two levels is not enough :D
I could definitively buy this kind of game on my smartphone!

Well done!

Thanks for your feedback! I will continue working on this

Very simple and so much fun. I feels really good when smashing red blocks continuously!

Cool game with a clear vibe. I enjoyed it! I would have liked to have a bit more speed, and for the restarts to be less forgiving. Congrats!

This is honestly really good. The controls are simple but it has a good balance of that easy to pickup but hard to master vibe. You really nailed that arcade feel and I want to see more.

Very smooth and not too hard. I finished the first two levels without any major problems. Hope there will be more challenging future levels.

Good game, cool graphics and sounds. Addictive gameplay.

Really cool game, the graphics work well and i can see the gameplay becoming really addictive. Would have liked to have a bit more speed overall to make it more twitchy, but very nice overall!
