So glad you like it, it was fun to make!

Thanks, much appreciated!

Thanks for the high praise and your feedback! This was truly a fun jam to participate in, and I am thrilled it was well-received! And yes, multi-fireball is possible--I think I've had up to 8 of them on-screen in testing. :)

Nice look to the graphics, controls are easy to get used to, music is pleasant. I'd say you have the makings of a great game! With additional sound effects and particle effects, I could see this being a killer game! I'll bet you could even make it procedural to both vary the game play and provide unlimited levels. Good job!

I'm digging the music!!

Nice art style, smooth animation, this was interesting! I wasn't quite sure whether there was a goal, but the sound and visuals were nice. :)

Great job! Good graphics, good theme, gameplay seems pretty balanced. Creative theme.

Great game!! It took me a bit to get the hang of it, but good idea and good execution!

Nice art, great gameplay, and great job on the tutorial! This felt like one of the most polished games I have played (and I have played/rated over 200 of the submissions in this game jam!). You should be proud of the work you've done.

Nice art style and good gameplay! I assume your maps are procedurally-generated, which is cool for varied gameplay. Good concept!

A solid beginning!

Great concept--I had fun playing! I had trouble getting the bots to do much of anything in a controlled way, but hopefully that was due to my inexperience. Well done!

Thanks for the nice comment! I had a lot of fun. :) Hopefully you had a chance to see the lightning powerup--that was super fun to make and the screen gets really chaotic with the effect, which I love. :)

Great!! So glad you enjoyed it.

Hi, thanks for playing and commenting! It's great to get your feedback on these things. I definitely need to make a screen for showing what all the powerups do (w\either a standalone screen, or something at the beginning of a level explaining the newly-unlocked powerups, or both). And yes, I definitely need to tweak that ball launch--that one threw me off too as I played, and was just one of those things I didn't get to tweaking before I ran out of time.

Thanks again!

Excellent suggestions, and something for me to focus on as I make revisions.  For winning the level, I made it so that if you're down to the last 8 bricks or less (I think that's the number I used), it just moves to the next level. That was always a pet peeve of mine with other breakout-style games I played, where the action would kind of slow down while you try to clear the remaining bricks. But I think I'll add a counter indicating the number of bricks remaining until the next level, or something like that.

Yes, the levels are infinite as the game stands now. They're procedurally generated, but are designed to get harder as you progress (that balance does need a little tweaking, though). So, no "winning" the game as of now. But I imagine to improve things in general, I will add a leaderboard, and the game will keep track of your high score, how many of the 300+ brick types you've seen, how many background levels you've seen, how many powerups you unlocked, etc. It actually never occurred to me to make an "end" to the game (I'm used to the never-ending games of old like Missile Command, where I made it past 1 million after a long time and then figured that's where I would stop since things weren't getting any more difficult at that point), but now you've got me thinking about what that would look like--might need a storyline of some kind, too.

Anyway, thanks for your comments and great suggestions. The fact that you got to level 12 tells me you played for a good bit, so that thrilled me as a creator. 😊

Glad you enjoyed it! The lightning one was pretty crazy, eh? 😁

Thank you! I am glad you liked it.

In other words, as a group they sway back and forth (moreso as the stack gets higher)--like a skyscraper in gale-force winds. :)

What a fascinating concept! I think you've got a great idea here. It was too difficult for me, but I'm thinking others would catch on faster.

Love the concept, loved the graphics! You have a solid beginning for a game here.

I would have liked to see more tower defense games in this game jam. Good job, solid concept. :)

Loved the graphics and audio! This was a very solid concept for a game and I enjoyed playing. I was thinking as I went along that being able to control the angle and force with which objects could be thrown would have made it very interesting! Also, the ship was already mostly balanced. I wonder how it would have changed the gameplay to start out with an empty deck and maybe have objects fall onto the deck in random places, creating a dynamic environment to balance out? You could even get silly and have a shark flop up on the deck or something (so in other words, good objects like treasure = keep, bad objects need to get thrown overboard). Just some ideas. Great job on this, though!

This was interesting, and a good foundation for a full-blown game (I'm thinking sound, particle effects, powerups, etc.) But of course this would be difficult-to-impossible to do without a game engine. Thanks for submitting, I would have liked to see more word games in this competition in general!

Good job! As others have said, it reminds me of Paperboy (although it's been so long since I've played it, I don't remember how similar it actually is). I think the background resolution should be brought up, as I had difficulty knowing what's what. I also expected that I would have to use controls to balance on the bike without tipping over (in my case, it was a relief that you did it the way you did, as my coordination with that kind of stuff isn't that great so it was better for me that I didn't have that in the mix). I enjoyed the sound, and thought it was a nice touch that the music changed as my time was about to run out.

Very cute, good artwork and decent gameplay. I liked how the objects got progressively larger--that made me laugh. Just tossing this out there...I wonder how it would change the gameplay if the objects were a little "sticky"? And the objects fell at a faster rate? And we got some "sway" in the objects? And the plank grew as needed to accommodate the bulk of the objects? You got my creative juices flowing, anyway 😊

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

Cute little game!

Very well done! This is the first submission so far where I've wanted to play more than 5 minutes. :) Seems well thought out!

Outstanding!!

Very creative!! I had to report to the incineration chamber though, ha ha...

Thanks so much! Yeah, almost bit off a bit too much there...

Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback!

Solid concept! I wasn't expecting it to be such a fast-paced game, though. I'd recommend you slow it down a little because I kept having to look at one area of the screen and then another very rapidly. Also might be nice to have other animations as the health of the plant deteriorates. But I did enjoy playing!

Interesting game with an interesting vibe!

Good game, looks like you put a lot of effort into it! This cannot have been easy to accomplish in a short time! But how do you balance the drink? I kept watching my tray tilt, almost in slow motion, waiting for the inevitable...

Love the art style, love the mechanics, you've got a real solid foundation here to build on.

I enjoyed this game! Great buildup of suspense. Also, runs very smoothly on my laptop, although many of the 3D games are very laggy on mine. Good job!

Great graphics and animations! I enjoyed this.

Now that's an interesting premise!
