Base? Check✅. Turrets? Check✅. Now choose your ammo, assign workers and equip your turrets for battle! With minimalist game design and stylish execution, Ammo Flow scratches the itch of strategy gamers looking for the next tactical game. A perfect balance between production and loading is a recipe for disaster. Instead, look at coming waves and prioritise based on enemy types. Good fun, great replay value.

Congrats. Really challenging game. Well done.

I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category). The use of screenshots is fantastic and very comprehensive README, nice work.

Really awesome, different approach to the balance theme. I enjoyed your graphics and art-style; very much fits military vibes. The game is fairly intuitive to understand and play, I like that it starts easy and gets harder. It'd be great if you can add some music and sound effects; that would make your game lots more immersive. Great job on your submission.

Thanks for the feedback

There is background music and a few sound effects (like button clicks and a base alarm) , but due to a bug the volume is set to 0 by default and it needs to be changed in options.

Oh good to know. Great job again.

Awesome game! I found it pretty intuitive to understand. I also really felt the theme shining through. There were a lot of actions to balance while playing. Getting all of my defenses only felt really cool. It reminded me of playing FTL. My only critique is that I wasn't getting any audio. Really needs an epic battle soundtrack and sound effects. I really enjoyed my time with this one, and the idea is really creative. Great work!

Thanks so much. Appreciate you playing and the kind words!

About the sound — the game lacks sound effects for the turrets/enemies, but there are button effects (and alarm on base hit)  and background music(not epic tho =)). Just in case, did you check the settings? I found a bug where the volume is sometimes set to 0 by default.

Really interesting core concept and a crazy amount of visual polish. I mean, the scan lines on the map?! With some improvements to the gameflow and variety, and some chunkier sound effects, this could easily be a killer strategy/base management game. Super cool stuff!

UI looks really good. If time allowed, an in game tutorial would be a nice addition. Overall, very solid game!

Nice game. I really liked the look of the UI and the twist that you need to manage the ammo and not directly the towers. Sometimes the UI was a bit cumbersome. I think it would be good if you could select the turret to unload and load it by clicking on the turret in the base. Also assigning the workers is a bit cumbersome, maybe assigning them directly by drag and drop. At the moment you need to first unassign them from a task and then reassign to another task. The possibility to directly assign them to another task would be very helpful.

Still a very solid entry and congratulations to this!

Developer

Thanks afor the feedback! Yea, turret UI needs a serious rework.  Good point about "directly assign". I’ll need to think about how to handle that better.

Pretty solid tower defence game!

Nice graphics as well esp the guns are looking scary.

A tutorial would be helpful since it has a learning curve. Though your video helped.

Thanks for making this .

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, it was planned to have a few tutorial missions at the beginning, but I ran out of time)

It is not really clear how to play even after reading the how to play, an interactive little tutorial would do wonders here.
But after it clicked it was very nice to handle the logistic aspect of war.
Very interesting idea!

Tutorial was planned .... but I didn’t have enough time to implement it :)

Wow, the UI in this game its amazing, congrats, this is a very complete work!

Super creative take on tower defense! Loved the focus on logistics, it feels like running a chaotic little war room

Nice twist on the tower-defense genre, and i very much like the userinterface (once I figured out, that I can click on almost every little switch and button)

Very well made!

Developer

Thanks — yes, my game definitely lacks a tutorial that would explain the controls and the gameplay process :)

Impressive. very innovative and fun management. the UI is extraordinary. Good game.

Developer

Thanks a lot

Fun, I like to change ammo type production, UI is well done

Developer

Thanks for playing

The game is really well done, the ui is flawless, the idea brilliant !

I had one minor issue I don't know why I had the volume default to 0 in my case.

Good visuals, fun to play. It's clear you've put some good thought into this. :)

Really nice tower-defense game. I like the idea of focusing on ammo instead of just plopping down turrets. I had quite a bit of fun, however the coontrols felt a bit labour-intensive at times and i had trouble quickly grasping what kind of enemies i was facing (and what kind of ammo i needed to load against them). One thing that could have helped would have been to be able to click on the machine-guns directly on the map to choose their ammo (maybe autofire and detailed info can still be shown on the side, but having to switch between managing guns, looking at the map and managing production made me feel like i was not doing any of those right :) ).

But overall really cool game, definitely would like to see where it goes from here if you plan to take it further!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing.

Honestly, I had similar thoughts when I was testing in the later stages. But I liked the idea with the buttons and panels (I was inspired by the UI from HighFleet), and it was already too late for changes))
As for the enemies, I think it would have been better to use silhouettes (of planes, tanks, etc.) instead of squares)

Submitted(+1)

Yeah it's a jam entry so of course time is limited, and i think what you did in 13 days is really impressive! The silhouettes are a good idea, makes it easier to know wether you need AA or AP at a glance

Submitted(+1)

I love the idea and visuals but the game is very confusing.

Developer

Thanks for giving the game a try)
I had plans for tutorial levels that would gradually and step-by-step introduce players to everything... but I didn't have time)
