First of all I thought it was just a matching game but the whole garden building part is brilliant. Really interesting idea - well done!

If you're wondering why some people are reporting they can't play the game it's because they are using Firefox which doesn't support import assertions. Specifically, this:

import data from "./map_export.json" with { type: 'json'};

Anyways, nice game!

Ah, sorry about that! I have posted an updated version to Newgrounds where this bug is fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it before submitting for the jam.

Really cool idea and great execution.

Very cute! Quickly gets frantic! I really enjoyed playing this.

Would've loved a tutorial as it took me a while to work out what had to be done. I really enjoyed playing and loved the graphics and sfx. Great job!

Tricky but super fun and pretty unique. Nice game!

Cool vibes!

Also got stuck on the wolf. A promising idea, though!

Fun! Some sfx would definitely add some 'juice'. Pouncing was a bit tricky.

Ouch! The poor little pandas ;)

Really cute and beautifully implemented. It is damn hard, tho!

Music and graphics combine to create a very nice ambience. Fun game, although the jumping felt a little bit tricky on smaller platforms.

Are the levels procedurally generated?

Thanks, Frank! Really appreciate the feedback. Definitely plan to tweak gameplay, address those bugs and add more levels. It was a lot of fun to make and I thoroughly enjoyed working with LittleJS; simple to pick up and very well thought out.

Awesome, thanks! Nice feedback. I can speed up the tutorial text. For the mouse controls - do you imagine some kind of on screen joypad for directions or the player just follows the cursor? Actually could be very nice - never thought about that!

Heya! Thanks for the feedback, it's great to hear. Definitely gotta make the animal following a bit smoother.

I do plan to add more levels. Spent too much time messing around with particles and stuff I ran out of time for the more important stuff :/

Hi! Yes, I totally see how that makes sense. I'm going to add it in the next update. Thanks for that and for playing!

Yeah, there is an edge case with collision that I will fix in the next update. I should've made the key thing a bit more obvious. Personally, I always hide my house key under a plant pot. On the roof. On level 5 ;)

Thanks for the kind words and playing! I really appreciate it!

Hey! Thanks for playing and the feedback. I did really want to add speedruns but kinda ran out of time. Hopefully, in a future update, though!

These are awesome! Love it! Used one in a game:

Yay! Thanks for playing and the kind words!

Cool! Thanks for the feedback!

Oh no! You can just hold space to keep flying / shooting.

Awesome! Thanks for playing!

Ah no! Sorry about that :(

What browser / platform did you play it on?

Dang! Sorry to hear that. What browser / platform are you on?

Hey! Thanks for playing. You can press x to skip your turn and wait for the right moment.

hey! i'd happily share the .p8 but looks like i can't find a backup. soz!

Thanks! 749 isn't too bad!

Thanks!

I've been asked much weirder :P

The font can be found here:

It's from the ancient 8bit Amstrad CPC

Cool, cheers! No worries. Great idea for a jam btw.

Thanks! Aha, I see what you mean about the jumping - it happens when you release the space bar rather than press it. It was just easier (and more succint) to code it that way.

If you're interested in javascript and code golf, checkout the js1k compo. Some really impressive stuff. For example: https://js1k.com/2010-first/demo/635

Mind = blown. ;)

Totally agree - I did want to balance it more, but ran out of time. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to add some more baddies and make them attack in waves.

BTW, it's made with Phaser - definitely recommend; easy to get into with great docs & community

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for playing! I did want to add lives or at least and energy system but ran out of time. Hopefully, I'll find some spare time to expand the game further and add a bit more depth

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to play it. Yeah, probably could have judged the difficulty a bit better :D

Thanks! Glad you like it. Was a lot of fun to make.

Thanks!  I made it in PICO8. Definitely worth checking out - super cool to work with and a really nice community too.
