Fun! Some sfx would definitely add some 'juice'. Pouncing was a bit tricky.

Hi,

Quite innovative! Beautiful graphics!

I like how the cat prepares to jump!

One bug I found was that the time ran out and after that I put the cat in the bag and won at the same time :).

That was fun, congratulations!

Very fun idea, especially for an animals jam game.

I think the basic game loop is pretty great. It feels really good to go and fetch the kittens one by one and bring them back to the basket and have them drop in there. For some reason it does seem that there is a slight delay in catching a kitten and seeing it in your mouth though, which starts to matter in higher levels.

The main critique I would give is that there should be some sort of time increase as levels increase and there are more kittens to gather up.

I do like how you've incorporated score and even the pounce move into the gameplay!

I really liked the art, the overall idea is attractive, simple but it gets you hooked. Adding sounds and/or putting visual feedback when grabbing the little cats would give it an extra plus.

Anyway, it's an entertaining game!

I really liked the theme and sprites on this game. As others have mentioned the pouncing was a bit tricky to control and maybe having more variation of the kittens would be nice, but I liked the playful style and animation. I think adding sound effect would really enhance this game too.

Very cute and simple game but I love it a lot. I love cats and have fostered many cats and kittens. This game was a real joy to play. Pouncing can be a little weird to control and difficult but that's to be expected. It didn't impact my enjoyment at all. Catching tiny running kittens is hard :)

this is a cute and neat little score attack game. i love cats, i own four of them so naturally i love the premise behind this game. i also find it hilarious to pounce and speed through the level to catch cats as fast as possible. the sprites are adorable and visually clean. there are a couple of bugs i've noticed like how pounce start position gets messed up if you try to pounce while holding a kitten or how you can just straight up run over some of the kittens if you collide with more than one cat while pouncing, but that didn't hinder my enjoyment of this game that much. great job!

love the kittens. kittens are the best! the pouncing is a nice idea, but I found it very hard to control.

I like the visuals very much, looks very good. It’s easy to understand and pretty much explains itself, that is a very good thing in my opinion. Also, I like games that track scores, it makes them competitive. I can see myself playing this a couple of times. However, since I like competition, I tend to look for potential strategies and advantages and I noticed that walking from the very left to the very right takes about 5 seconds - always - whether I walk in a straight line, or in a zig-zag line; that basically means that you are faster when walking diagonally, which might be an advantage in some situations. It does not brake the game and I think the potential advantage is not that big, however I am not sure if that is intended. (It can be fixed by normalizing the input vector before applying the speed.)

This game is so awesome, definitely my favorite start screen so far!

  • I think this could be fun to play with the mouse. The way it could work is your cat just moves towards your mouse, and click to pounce. The right mouse button is alway available so you could optionally put points on right click and leave left click for pickup/drop.
  • It could be fun if the kittens vary a bit in size and color, maybe even other attributes like speed, playfulness, etc?
  • maybe there could be some toys for the kittens to play with.
  • There could be mice the kittens chase after?
  • After completing a level it doesnt say press enter to continue. Maybe it would make sense to just let the player also press space to press start?
  • you can remove the text in the top right by calling setShowWatermark(false) or just using a release build of littlejs.

This game is super cute, I'm looking forward to playing again soon!
