i love you too,  your game is too good, this flappy shoot them up works wonderfully and deserves to continue to develop this concept, I love the maxi big pixels and the sounds that pop in all directions, here is a real arcade game, it was really good thank you

Yay! Thanks for playing and the kind words!

Pretty cute and fun :)

Two things that bothered me:

  1. The clouds on the 2nd level were so bright and fast they distracted me a lot. I guess they could be darker and, if doing parallax, moving a bit slower than the trees closer then those clouds.
  2. It was a bit difficult to aim, especially into smaller enemies on level 1. I wonder if making their hitboxes (or the bullet hitbox) bigger would help with that. Or… I just have to git gud :p

Cool! Thanks for the feedback!

Once I realized that I can actually keep the button pressed to fly and shoot and don't have to mash it like crazy, the game was actually enjoyable. I like the design of the stages and the music. The controls are not my favourite but actually work in the game and, which is nice, are mobile friendly.

After all, it is an interesting twist on the side scroller genre and sure worth of a more content filled post jam release.

The lack of control was really doing me in, I couldn't get past level 1. :(

Developer

Oh no! You can just hold space to keep flying / shooting.

This was cute and simple, and we're all for a bee game!

Submitted(+1)

Like the simplicity. Very fun. I wish I could replay using the keyboard, so I don't have to be switching between keyboard and mouse.

absolutely love it!

I unfortunately had a hard time with lagging, but I liked how simple the idea is. The audio complements the gameplay, and I had a few minutes of good fun while playing it. Well done!

Developer

Dang! Sorry to hear that. What browser / platform are you on?

Submitted

I tried on both Chrome and Firefox, but the problem seems to persist.

Game stutters and freezes in my browser - causing my bee to drop suddenly and hit obstacles when I can’t see them (freezes last ~1-2 seconds, then jump ahead to where the game should be).

Also, I have to click really fast to get the bee at any sort of elevation 😅

Developer(+1)

Ah no! Sorry about that :(

What browser / platform did you play it on?

Submitted

I played on Windows 11 Firefox. I’ll try again in Chrome once I get back to my PC! Definitely want to try it out “for real”.

really cool combination of shoot-em-up and flappy bird mechanic! After finishing Diablo 1 in 1996, I thought "surely no other game will harm my mouse buttons the way Diablo did!" oh boy was I wrong, as I played your game my fingers started getting on fire clicking at 300clicks/sec! It didn't matter if I was going to lose a finger, I was surely not going to let those pesky green spiders get me on their way down! (damn you stalactites!!) Love the music / mood / polish, even with the simple graphics. Also really cool to see javascript up here!

cheers

Developer

Awesome! Thanks for playing!

Nice little JavaScript game. Amazing to see that, what is effectively a one key game, can be so much fun! :D
