This is definitely not my kind of game, but I appreciate the work on the physics of the game and all the creative aspects... well done
You evil genius. It looks so easy, but then you try, and then it’s three days later and you hate yourself but you’ve got to keep going. Evil.
This was a neat mechanic for the jam, and definitely challenging. Love the idea of having the player in a wheelchair as well and the controls are simple and easy to understand without need for any explanation. Great job on your first game using PICO-8!
Super cool idea, simple does not mean bad, you prove it.
I wish there were an ending screen, like thumbs up from grandpa or some different screen to acknowledge.
One time I started going from left to right in top speed, super funny.
Great submission
This game is a fantastic example of how simplicity can lead to a lot of fun! I loved the unique concept and the challenge of balancing the grandpa, it really kept me engaged. The small details, like the grandpa's changing expressions and the shadow effects, added a lot to the experience. Overall, great work
Cute! I love the shadow! Maybe there could be more to the game, but other than that, I love the idea!
Funny little game! :D It is amazing how such a simple concept can be so much fun, probably because you managed to hit the sweet spot of easy to learn hard to master very precisely. Well done! :)
This was fun! I'd love to see a multiplayer version of this game! It would be a laugh against friends!
Unique little game, fun to play but difficult to master.
I like how the grandpa's facial expression changes depending on the balance. The shadow of the see-saw is a nice touch too!
The game is pretty fun even though a bit simple. And that's a compliment! :D
I didnt understand the small up-down arrow above the clock icon. Is is showing stability?
I’m still really bad at this, but the game itself is a perfect example for a game jam. A simple but good idea executed really well!
Props for having a wheelchair user as a protagonist to the game, and I love all the small little animations you have for the game such as the facial expressions and the little shadows for the seesaw!
Welcome to PICO-8!
Your game is proof that sometimes even the most simple concepts can be a ton of fun! I really loved the execution of this game, from the nice atmosphere, cheerful vibe, the ingenuity of balancing a grandpa, the meter/progress system - all combined with a great little soundtrack. Lovely attention to details with the leaves / wind particles, the shadow of the seasaw, and getting special attention for getting a high score. Special mention for doing this in PICO8 where you had to do absolutely everything from scratch! (btw have you tried Picotron yet?)
Took me a few tries to get sub 23secs. I'm curious if it's possible to go under 20?
Glad you enjoyed it! My author time is 17.2! Minimum ever possible is 16
And no, I haven't tried the picotron yet, maybe for the next one :)
INFINITE SPEED GLITCH. But genuinely super simple skill puzzle which was neatly done.
you can go back and forth way off screen to build up infinite speed and start flying back and forth like a dragonball character and never even touching the ground or being on screen for more than a few frames/pos
Thanks for playing! It's intentional, bet it got some giggles out of you! I know I LOL'd when I first saw it :)
