You have a README which is great (I would fill it out with some more info however), and you'll need a License file (these are two main criteria for open source category).
Graphics are cute, colour scheme is a good choice. This is a really cool concept, balancing between speed and jumping; and perfect for the theme. For the first "level", maybe make it a little easier so the player can get the hang of the control balancing. I would also add some sound effects and music to make it a little more immersive. Physics and controls are great.
Very innovative use of the theme, and I wish this had a few more levels!
I would encourage you to rethink having the sliders be at opposite ends, as they are not very intuitive controls. You could have a single slider that just changes both values.

Fun concept! I’d have preferred that the sliders retain their value after dying, and that respawn happen a bit faster. (but then again, that’s my fault for dying so much :P )

Balancing between speed and jump to solve different platforming problems is a very creative idea! Well done.
Nice game! Would be great to have keybindings for changing the speed/jump controls and if the game was a bit more forgiving on the timing when jumping from the edge of a platform

I enjoyed this a lot. I can very easily see the main mechanic of adjusting your move speed and jump height carrying a full game. It's very unique. Adjusting the slider while on the move can be a bit tricky but that's a minor detail.
