One of my favorite games of this jam! The atmosphere, the art, the concept! Loved it!

Really enjoyed this one, glad I didnt miss it. The light mechanic was a clever twist and worked well. Nice atmosphere and the visuals and sound tied together great. I liked the upgrade system too. Well done
Fascinating game, the premise is so serious. What is notable, speed of movement compared to other games I’ve played on this jam.
I think either there are too many houses, they get run over too fast or the map should be zoomed out a bit so you’d be able to see most of the houses at once.
In any case, a solid game, fits the theme well! I also like the animation of tiny candle hurrying up, and also the mom candles… quite memorable haha
Great game. After a while it does become a bit repetitive and its not clear exactly on what triggers the next wave. But the mechanic is really novel and different (I love light-themed game ideas), the aesthetics are really very good, the music is perfect, and I love the sounds you've used. I love that there's even an in-game shop to upgrade your abilities. I tended to just spend whatever I had on reviving a flame so I didn't really get to check out the other options. You've created something that looks, feels, and sounds amazing - given some more time to bake and refine the gameplay this could be a totally awesome, sellable, game. Great work.
His was a "light" game!
Actually it was hard and repetitive as hell, but the core mechanis, the soud, music and the Visuals... all of them was nearly perfect.
Great work!
Check and rate my game when you have some time.
Have FUN :3
Wow! I really enjoyed this one. It was a very original theme choice compared to most other jam entries, and the art, music, and mechanics all fit together perfectly. I especially loved how the music’s intensity built up with each new wave, it made the experience even more engaging. Super fun and very well done!
Nice game overall, loved the aesthetics, loved the mood and the gameplay!!
Really great mood with the music and lighting. Running around lighting the candles was fun and I was really impressed with your animated tutorial screen. I did run into some performance issues as more enemies spawned and more houses started burning. But it was fun to play!
This was really interesting!! I like the unique theme!
Management all the monsters was challenging! I could feel candle boy's anxiety !! Great job!✨
Great game!
Fun gameplay loop, very responsive controls, and amazing art and atmosphere. Well done!
I like the aesthetic of this game, it feels well put together! The visuals are very cohesive and the lil candle you play as is cute.
I had some trouble understanding the best approach. It seemed like keeping everything lit at all times did not progress the game because the shadows simply waited outside the light range. So I just baited the shadows in a dark area and ran after them killing them with my light. That seemed like the best way to make progress. The counter of shadows going up during a wave also felt like i wasn't progressing. I'd suggest having that number represent the total wave count and only have it tick down instead of showing the currently spawned shadows :D
Overall I did have a good time with your game although i got defeated at wave 6.
Very well done!
Thank you for checking out our game. We're glad you enjoyed it overall!
Bating the shades was indeed part of the intended strategy! Balancing the game was definitely a constant struggle so good job on getting to wave 6.
The shadow counter suggestion is a great idea and makes much more sense! We'll implement it after the jam. Thanks again.
Fun game, loved the art and the main mechanic is great! If you change the ground tiles after the jam i think it will feel even better!
