Too late to rate now, but I can clearly see why this ranked so high. I was legitimately disappointed there weren't more levels (which frankly, is a rare feeling while playing a jam game). Extremely polished, and it reminds me of that old Lemmings game I loved as a kid. Well done!

Developer(+1)

thanks so much man. I have fond memories of Lemmings from my youth and nothing really scratches that itch these days. I wonder if I turn this into a full blown game if there'll be enough of us 'old timers' that want to support it. I'm going to find out I reckon. Congrats to you as well on your game getting a great finish as well. It's a pity I didn't see it during the ranking window but Im going to go and give it a spin :)

Developer

Thank you to everyone that rated my game. I think I might have something worth pursuing here. Thank you guys!!

Submitted(+1)

Unfortunately I missed the rating window on this, its fantastic, I will 100% come back to try it properly

Developer(+1)

no worries at all :) I wasn't looking for more ratings anyway....just providing feedback on games I really enjoyed. Congrats to us!

Submitted(+1)

just a shame I missed the window really, well done, you scored really well and I can see why

Nice game! Reminded me of Lemmings of course.

I found it difficult to attach a parachute to a falling sheep. And in a second playthrough I managed to cheese the game by using only wood logs :)

I liked that there is more than one possible solution.

Developer

lol nice work. I usually put the parachutes on the sheep either right before i open the gate or right after i open the gate.  If you click the gate while the parachute button is selected it still opens the gate so its a bit of a secret that makes it easier. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)

Excellent - Lemmings vibe! Very well done, though needs difficulty level turning up. Very nicely done!

Submitted

It's a great game, fun and complex, and very enjoyable to play.

Pretty cool puzzle game. It reminded me of Lemmings but with sheep. I got a good laugh not understanding the parachute part at first. I can definitely see this having many levels and even a builder to allow players to build their own levels to share.

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed this one! Loved the art style and animations on the sheep. Took me a little bit of practice to get my mouse clicks aimed in but I think that just added to the challenge. Great job!

Really polished stuff and having a laugh within the first few seconds is always a good sign (the sheep dropping from the sky). Everything was intuitive and looked great. I only have tiny nitpicks as the game flowed perfectly: maybe a visual indication that a sheep is equipped with a parachute and a faster/fastest option like the original Lemmings...

Oh and I guess the cruelty option that always made me feel bad: the 'mushroom cloud icon', lol. I'm glad you didn't make the levels absurdly difficult like Lemmings 2 though I'd loved to have seen a couple more levels (and I don't usually say that on gamejam games)

...also couldn't help but make a dog tower of babel on level 5 :)

Developer(+1)

haha! I wondered if anyone would make a tower of dogs and I think you might be the first one to do it in the jam. I was like I COULD fix this, but actually I'm not sure I'm going to for the sake of the jam lol because a tower of dogs is quite funny so why not.

Your feedback is all legit and thank you for it - I've wondered about the parachute visual for a while now and I'm not sure doing another sheep animation is going to be the best solution or not. I dont think changing their color would work either. I'm thinking maybe some kind of identifying icon....I really havent actually decided this one yet. Fast and Fastest speeds definitely need to be implemented and the code is actually pretty straightforward (I think), but I have done the "art" on everything in this game and just making the buttons was going to challenge me too much in terms of time. I also hand't thought of the Nuke button lol but I tihnk thats really a fantastic addition that will need to be made asap - I DO have a TNT sheep on my list to implement as I think that will really extend my options for level designs. I have one or two other novel ideas in mind that weren't in Lemmings originally like a portal, and then I want to borrow at least one idea from Worms and have a combat-type sheep as well lol. Gosh....it's going to take me a while.

Who knew that guiding sheep around could be this fun! Good job!

Gem of a game. Completed all the 5 Levels of the game(The 5th Level is a tricky one(solved it using just the logs). Overall nice and clean graphics and subtle particle effects used. Soothing background music and overall appropriate sound effects used. If more game levels are created with more sheep types(e.g: fat sheeps could be slower, lean ones could be more faster) and so on, a full fledged game could be made. One of the most polished games in the game jam. Keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

As the creator of the game, I have no idea how you solved it using only the logs lol I'm going to have to go back to it and experiment. I can solve it with two fans and the parachutes but now you've piqued my interest hehe. Thank you for playing and glad you had a good time :)

WELL DONE! I loved the game. The variety of tools you can use really makes you wonder how many different ways you can finish each level.

It’s very satisfying to see the herd of sheep moving, and the music fits perfectly. I had a lot of fun playing the game.

The game design, level design, visuals, and sound effects are all well thought out and well executed.

Great work!

Nicely put together and the sheep are great. Visuals work well and the music fits the vibe. The levels get challenging but in a good way, and the puzzles felt rewarding to solve. Would definitely like to see more levels. Overall very solid and fun to play. Loved the lemmings vibe

Developer(+1)

Thanks Tim! Glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to borrow the TNT mechanic from Lemmings too but didnt have the time for it. Definitely more coming in the near future :)

So good. Loved Lemmings back in the 90s (even though I was terrible at it). Wonderfully made, the visuals are bang on, and the music is a nice fit. Very well done.

Developer

thank you Mark :)

Cool game, so much work! Really impressive!
Tutorials, different mechanics and levels.
You probably can add few levels between introducing new mechanics to let play with more. And maybe speedup button can be useful sometimes.

Developer(+1)

yup a 'Faster' and 'Fastest" speed adjustment button is definitely on my backlog list :) Nice idea on introducing more levels in between the tutorials because I am wanting to create MANY more levels and at least 3 'zones' so that people have a lot to play and this is a solid idea that for whatever reason just hadn't occurred to me. Thank you so much for playing :) Glad you enjoyed it!

ah man, that ended so fast and it was really cool game, to be honest the most game i enjoyed on this jam im not sure why not so many people played it but great job man! that was really lovely 5/5

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing man - I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I'm very happy with 25 ratings so far - for these game jams it really is more the quality of the review rather than the quantity so long as you can break about 10 ratings so I appreciate you playing and rating. I just downloaded your game so I'm going to check it out!

Submitted(+1)

you are the only game that gets 5 stars from me, never really enjoyed my time in this jam since most games are not that good.

Absolutely adorable sheeps and puppy. Good to see other puzzle games on here! I wanted to make a sheep game as well, so it's nice to see this!

Really cute sheeps, great level design and very pretty game. Pixel but modern and simplistic style fits really well.

The puzzles are very precise and I definitely lost sheep because they fall too quick haha!

Cute game. I do see how Lemmings is the inspiration behind this. A couple observations/suggestions.

  1. Cursor seems off if not in full screen mode
  2. I wish it was easier to tell which sheep has a parachute. I had to click on them multiple times to make sure.
  3. You can rotate the log, but there’s no need to do so in any level.
  4. Please animate the dog!

Very nice entry!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. The cursor is slightly off when its not in full screen mode and its one of the reasons I recommend it be played full screen. It's currently pointing slightly above where the point is and its actually been challenging to get it to work reliably when it's windowed. So my actual plan for this is to create a prefab like you see for the fan and the log etc. and create a much larger area to apply the parachutes to the sheep, so it will be more reliable (it was actually a toss-up between implementing this or doing the guide on each level and end of level screen and I chose the latter for polish). Part of that will also be an identifier for indicating that the sheep have a parachute, but I haven't decided how I'm going to do that yet. And as for the dog, yes, Barkley is going to get some animations - a wagging tail, a pant, and an occasional bark but it was just too much to consider for the jam. He will also have a more detailed script that controls when he does what based on the sheep etc. I have a lot of work planned for this game....and I mean a lot. I want to have exploding/tnt sheep, I'm considering a portal mechanic etc etc Thanks for playing again - I will check out your game.

I loved the way how you introduce new features step by step in different levels. This is a nice way to guide player along the way. Also, the visual aesthetic and simple music is on point. Great job bro. I also made a small puzzle game. Would you like to give it a try.

fun little game with the puzzles and mechanics. Greqt job and well done.
