The atmosphere fits really well with the story, and the character design is interesting as well! The mechanic is well explained and I understood the tasks easily :D

I thought my game was good! But then I saw this...

I enjoy the artstyle and music! I like that we should go back and forth between the place. But somehow I can't seem to find the good ending, any hints?

My game might now have the best music and is fully action packed. See if you like it and leave a rating! Would love your feedback on my art style! https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/475740

I'll try it now :]

Wow, I'm beyond impressed with your artistry and development talent! You truly have a gift for evoking atmosphere and telling an effective story through the game form. c: That's a rare skill to have. I'd be really interested in picking your brain for visual design sometime, if that's okay! :D

I've always felt that the game medium, when done right, can really evoke a sense of immersion that few other art forms can. You've recognized that and succeeded in bringing it to life, with such a short amount of time. Fantastic job.

I thought that the mechanic of having the character move in a linear fashion from left to right was really effective with the storytelling. The choice to change the environment by "going to sleep" was very thoughtful and innovative.

Thank you for the opportunity to take a small peek into your world here, and to play this lovely game. It inspires me to think outside the box when developing my own ideas now, too!

Thank you so much! It really means a lot!

That game was so cool! It's so polished, graphics are awesome, and the jam theming and visual style were beyond anything I was expecting!
Great job, Moolordking! :D

A really nice and calming game. I loved the art style and the music fit the theme of the game really well. The controls were very good although the camera switch was a bit jarring. Altogether, a really nice game. Great Job!

Nice job!

Are there multiple endings or just setting him free? (asking for the message that appears then, don't wanna do spoilers)

Developer

unfortunately at this time there is only one ending, but if I was to keep working on this game I would add multiple endings :]

Also thanks for playing :]

I enjoyed playing this. Ambience is great, visuals are also great. I didn't think colors are a problem.

Thing is I would like to have some sound effects when I interact with something or walk, thanksfully the music is okay and covering it a bit. I think you made the player to actually walk a lot in the scene to artificially extend the duration of the game - it is fine but here it's obvious. Finally I would say I didn't think the game was respecting the theme that much, it cannot only be a sentence at the end saying "you lose" when you completed the game... you have to make some mechanics that are using the lie as a gameplay experience in my opinion.

Overall it's a chill and cool experience, with beautiful visuals.

noted! I was going to add "lying" in the mechanics, but I knew a lot of games were going to use swapped controls and hidden platforms (and I couldn't think of many original mechanics )so I personally felt that adding it into the story would fit better, but be open to disagree :]

Also I love your game!

Haha thanks man :)

This game is one of the best I've seen in the jam so far. The looks, the music and the story itself feels pretty great and cohesive. Really good job :D

Submitted(+1)

I really liked it! but I think it could do with less walking around, it just slows you down with no reason

Nice art and calm background music. Though, the contrast between the yellow and the orange colour shift is a bit much. Also, the camera is quite jarring when going from one end of the world to the other.

Amazing *clap* game! *clap*

Loved everything about it.

Except the blue screen after sleep almost killed my eye.

Other than that. Super cool game!
