Found this from your Youtube channel so I had to play it and I loved it! The graphics are very nice and it feels like a real game. I enjoyed the twist at the end and now I feel bad for all those poor green slimes hahah. I did find that you could keep bouncing on the enemies heads and not take damage but apart from that, good job! :D
Thank you, I glad you liked it :D
Yea, that 'jumping on their heads' thing was unintended at first but I ended up leaving it in cause it helped reduce the difficulty for some areas (making the pacifist run a little more doable haha)
If you didn't see, I played (and rated actually) your game on the channel ;P
Played and rated! It's a cool game!
Don't forget to check my game and rating it, please.

Thank you, sorry for the late reply
I played and rated your game too ;P (I even played it on my youtube channel, if you wanna check out my playthrough :P)
Very beautiful game, the art was truly amazing ! I also liked the background music a lot, i had a difficulty to understand the direction of attack but i figured out later on! Well done!
Take a look to our game if you like! https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476728
Wow, this game was phenomenal. The detail in the art, music, and animations are all incredible, and the gameplay loop of getting from one side of the screen to the other is satisfying. Once I saw the ending, I figured there was a pacifist ending, which I really tried for. Preventing slimes from falling off the edge, however, proved to be quite difficult. The later levels were also incredibly difficult to do without killing slimes. I wish I could have seen what the ending was like for not killing any slimes, but it was too difficult for me. Not that that's a bad thing!
One criticism I can think of (and I'm really scrounging for something to say here) is that the platforming controls feel a bit bad. Specifically, if there was maybe a quarter of a second of time after leaving a ledge in which the player is still able to jump, I think the game would have felt a LOT better to play.
The only other thing I can think of is that I didn't really understand the purpose of the coins. I felt inclined to avoid them because the pink slime told me to collect them, but some of the coins were placed in places that forced you to pick them up. As such, I went the rest of the game disregarding them entirely, neither avoiding them nor seeking them out, and they didn't appear to change the ending. Were they intended to incentivize players to kill slimes in order to collect them?
Overall, phenomenal game. This is easily one of my favorite entries I've played thus far!!!
Thank you so much Starbladek <3
You're right, there is a pacifist ending, but we were lenient with it hehe (you just need less than 3 slimes killed and falling slimes don't count, you'll notice the other slimes in the level dont get scared when one falls ;P)
Yea, the jumping was something that I didn't spend enough time on to make it feel good, which is something I regret as it is a fairly integral part of the game, but these things happen, and I'm happy with how a lot of the rest of the game turned out :)
The coins were indeed a misdirection. They were intended to try and lead people to reach all corners of the level and ramp up the difficulty (even though they have no bearing on the outcome). The intent was to further the lying theming while also creating apparent value in getting into those hard to reach places in the levels heheh (and if I decide to make an updated version of the game post jam, I might change their purpose and alter the endings to incorporate them, therefore no longer making them lies haha)
Thanks again Starbladek, I'll be playing your game on my youtube channel in the next couple of days, so if you want to see what I think of your game, you can see it 'live' on my channel hehe (also if you wanted to see the pacifist ending, I played my own game on my channel as well xD)
Love the color pallet! Very nice art and sound! Hope you check us out! https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476728
Whoever created the art style and audio must have had a great childhood with such inspiration! All in all round game, fitting the theme, and you kept the lore nice and tidy, not too stretched. Reminds me of my childhood SEGA games I used to play on the TV-set.
Great example of patiently brainstorming the theme before actually diving into whatever might become of the game. GG!
I like the idea of memory game + platformer! You need to remember the where the slimes are before they hide. The game graphic is top-notch! Cute music and sprites. The jumping physics could use some work though.
I wonder if there is a pacifist ending? I tried to go for pacifist route but I find some slimes have to die coz they are in my way. If there is, then that turns the whole game into avoiding coins and slimes.
Yea, that was the idea we came up with, when you kill a slime, the rest get scared, run away, and hide heheh
You're on to something with the endings ;P (it is possible to make it through the whole game without killing any slimes, sometimes it just requires you to take a hit or two)
I'm glad you liked it :D
Beautiful graphics, and way to go with that fully featured options menu. How did you find time for that?
I'll echo what others are saying in that the jumping feels a little awkward.
Nice cutscene finish!
Pretty fun. Jumping seems a bit off, but other than that the graphics and sound are great, and the narrative is good too.
The graphics and music is really cool. The controls is okay, but jumping can be a bit difficult, but it is not a big issue. I got to a place with some grey walls, but I never learned how pass them. Overall a really good jam game. Well done.
