Fun game with a lot of content and polish. The art is great. Liked the parody titles on the books and how equipped items show on Jac.

Really amazing game! Very fun and incredibly polished. Liked a lot the voice over! Just think the boy could have been more of like a proper game boss. Anyways, very cool and fun game!
The level of polish is too much, the music, concept and controls are so well done. Unlocking skills was fun and made me want to move forward. I appreciate the small tutorial sections right after you pickup the new power up. Amazing design, one of the best I played so far.
Great game. The art style, music, and voice acting was great and incredibly unique. I love how you gain powerups as you go along because it feels like you are getting better and gives time to let the player get used to the mechanic. Also the cutscene in the begging was amazing. Clearly lots of effort was poured into this and it shows, great job!
Pretty fun! I realy like the music and art! It's also neat that it's a bit like a metroidvania. It is a bit fustrating to fall al the way to the bottom though.
Please play and rate my game as well!
Cute theme! Being physically inside a toybox is an unusual setting (in a good way), and I like all the little touches like the kid's hand throwing down toys. Well-made intro art and voice acting!
Got 18/20 jellybeans, on normal difficulty. Enjoyed platforming across books and toys and thumbtacks, fun to move around and make it through the obstacles, though it felt a little generic-platformer at times. The game felt about the right length too. I appreciate the concept of getting hurt flinging you down through blocks dynamically. However it feels bad when you get punished with getting chain-hurt 3 or 4 times in a row this way, especially since the chaining happens only sometimes / inconsistently. But it is a game jam of course, and I still find that concept interesting. Overall nice production value!
Solid platforming mechanics and I like how each mechanic is an upgrade as you progress.
Production value is up there. Music and audio sounds professionally done, and visuals were well done as well.
The audio and visuals in this game is amazing. I also love how the game slowly introduced us to new aspects one by one, it made it easier for me to see the capabilities of the moves for myself before trying out new ones. I also never felt bombarded with controls due to this system. Amazing job to the team!
Love the setting and music. Nice percice controlls. Always felt like my fault if I miss timed something. Only complaint was the tacs are a double edge sword. It can domino out of controll pretty early on when you keep getting chained on to tacs and loose a lot of progress. Wish I got the parachute earlier on to save frustration. That being said, this game will probably end up in the top 10.
Thanks heaps for checking out our game and the feedback. The idea was the power ups collected would make it easier and faster to traverse up earlier sections if the player fell, but totally understand taking multiple hits from tacs and losing a bunch of progress would be quite frustrating. Thanks for the kind words :)
Dang the other guys wanted to give you the parachute early and I argued against it. That's great feedback. Thanks a ton! And like Sid Fish said, the idea was to make it much easier to climb back up once you had fallen with the new abilities, but it may make for a steeper learning curve than intended. Appreciate you playing through it!
I have sooooo many things to say about this impressive little platformer!
It has good audio, responsive controls, quaint mechanics, great graphics and challenging level design!
I hope to see your game development journey expand in the future!!!
Amazing little platformer and really loved the implementation of additional mechanics as you go! the world building with audio, art and voice-acting was a really nice touch! Kind of reminded me of fancypants with the level design and theme :D
I'm amazed this hasn't got more attention already. While I found ties to the restriction to be a little loose, this is an incredibly solid game. The visuals are great, the audio is great, the platforming and upgrades are awesome and feel really good to play.
I played the normal and hard mode and both were lots of fun.
My only criticism right now is that you need an end screen for showing speedrun time properly as well as how many collectibles you got.
Anyhow, Kudos to your team for making this.
Thanks for the kind review! I’m glad you were able to play around on the hard mode as well! Hopefully you saw the speed run option there and got to speed run a bit! That’s an excellent suggestion for a dedicated timer and collectible screen and probably wouldn’t be too hard to implement. Will be a for sure on an updated post jam build!
