How does your game utilize the limitation and theme?
For the limitation, the player has to literally collect themselves, retrieving their body parts in order to perform tasks like jumping, wall jumping, and dashing. I used the theme as the structure for my level design: the player has to go "there" in one direction in each level, and in the next, starts in the same spot as the end of the previous level and has to go "back" in the other direction.

I really like the looks of this game! The lofi beats really got me to relax after a stressful week of jamming. Next time, maybe make the game support wasd and space to jump, since a lot of people (like me) is used to the controls. The controls were a bit funky, but it was still interesting to play.  A fun little physics platformer 😉

I loved the esthetics! But the controls were really complicated in my opinion and I almost coudn't go pass the jump tutorial level.

Nice game. I love the use of the emojis and how you managed to use the theme. I would really appreciate it if you could check out and rate my game.

Cool game! The springy animations and effects fits with the emojis and the overall artstyle of the gamee.

It was a litle bit hard for me to control.

Hope you can check my game and give me some feedback too!

good job with the artwork, and the music was very soothing! i love the concept of "collecting" yourself as the player, but the controls are too difficult to get that idea across. Hopefully you can fix it in the future, I think this has a lot of potential.

Very interesting game! I think with a little bit of polish on the controls would be really fun and interesting. I like the mechanic of picking up a single powerup and plan how to use them. Really creative, the controls just feel a little slippery. Tighten them up and you'll have a really great game!

Questions:
Q: Wow this game is hard
A: It wasn’t supposed to be :(

Q: The game controls badly
A: I know (I don’t think I’m allowed to fix that during the voting period.)

Q: This sounds like copyrighted music
A: You probably have heard some of these songs if you listen to lo-fi on a regular basis. I checked all their licenses; they are under Creative Commons Share-Alike licenses, so they can be used for anything so long as you give them proper attribution (which I did). All the songs can be found in the Credits! If you have any questions about the licenses, just message me.

Well done! Really c h i l l  v i b e s. Had a lot of fun with your game and loved the app/emoji concept.

The game was fun and looked good. The controls were aggravating and I never got the hang of it.

Awesome game but its so hard to control!

i hope you play, rate my game and have some fun

i loved the graphics and sound, the gameplay is such fun. Good puzzle game, great entry.

Very fun concept and visuals! I loved when the "playing now" notification appeared haha
I get the looseness of the controls is a core feature and I wouldn't like to lose that but making them a bit tighter would be beneficial I think

Super fun. I love the mechanics. I enjoy these types of puzzle games. It'd be interesting to see this game wrapped with a story and perhaps some character development. I struggle to relate to an emoji. :)

I love the music and art. the death animation and respawn were an awesome touch. the controls feel off and make levels harder then they should be. But amazing concept over all!

Fun little game. I feel like while the music and art are greatly interconnected. The best part for me was the fact you can bounce off walls when you hit them to get some speed. It really makes the emoji feel really squishy and bouncy. Also all of the other small little touches make this feel really complete.

Honestly the biggest problem for me is the level design. With a bit more attention to it some of the level to level moments really wouldn't feel so frustrating. For me this is really a game that if you just sat down and made some really good levels and tightened up the gameplay just a bit would really make a great game down the line.

Legit if this had a level select did not notice it had one already, more well designed levels, and a handful more "upgrades" to spice up gameplay I would be happy to buy this for 5-10 bucks.

Feel free to take a look at my game for the jam as well if you would like to spread the love.

Thank you very much for your kind words! I really should’ve seen the controls problem way earlier– in one of my friend’s / beta-tester’s words, it feels like “you’re moving in gravy”. And I probably shouldn’t have made level design a later priority (that was an overscoping problem). Fortunately, my first time at a week-long, graded game jam makes for a great learning experience. I’m glad that you think the game has potential!

good graphics but the controls are quite bad. Still, nice idea.

p:s: Please consider checking our game!

Honestly that’s fair lol

Thought the idea was super cool. Loved the iOS theme of all the visuals, like the notification when the song changed, Little things like that were cool. Also I'm pretty sure I've listened to a lot of the songs before of some Lo-Fi hip hop playlists, lol. That is my jam! I got stuck though, couldn't quite get the jumping and the landing figured out. It got kind of frustrating. The only thing I would work on is making the controls a bit more responsive. But great job!

The controls can be a bit hard but overall this is a very cute and fun game. The collectibles are also all very clever and go well with the emoji art style. Nicely done!

I think its an overall great game. I loved the sound and music and how often it changes. Just super relaxing to play. I also really enjoyed your death and respawn animation. So clever. However, I think the control scheme is a little off. Maybe incorporate the mouse for those speed boosts or at least give people an option to do so. I think that would greatly improve the playability of the game. I also think that you could perhaps give the hands ability the chance to slide down walls as well to increase options.

Developer(+1)

That’s a good idea, I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice Game.
