A solid, functional entry.  Nice work.  I really liked the wizard sprites and his torch trail.

Nice game! it doesn’t seemed to me a very original idea. But I could not see any bugs, so good execution!

I missed a feedback when the enemies are hit…

Haven't played much of it (haven't had much time, I beat one level and didn't get back to the start on the second one). But it seems to be pretty fun, and the music isn't boring (but still a bit repetitive). The sound effects seem to work well: I can tell when I'm taking damage.

Art comment: when the floor is made of of a bunch of identical tiles, the pattern in those tiles probably could probably be a bit more subtle. Those light and dark spots repeating over and over are a bit like the music. Well, at least the art and the music fit well together.

Really nice game! My only suggestion would be to have the enemy bullets contrast with the floor/background! It's a bit difficult to dodge the since they kind of blend in. Other than that, pretty nice! If you have the time, I'd appreciate it if you also checked my game out!

Hi, really nice game, dungeon art is really nice. nice feature the secret rooms. maybe sprite direction could be better to face walking direction than aiming direction. great work.

Coukd you check my entry? I'll appreciate it, thanks!

Nice game. I really liked the art. I think you should make the player more responsive for precision movement

Feel free to try my game: https://itch.io/jam/vimjam/rate/766104

Nice game. As already suggested by others, I would make the movements a little bit snappier and responsive, also the enemy projectiles a bit slower and the player's a bit faster.

I liked the art, this flying/sliding wizard looks really good :)

Submitted

Classic top down action. As criticism I only can complain about the movement. It feels a bit like the make walks on soap, not snappy enough, but the rest was pretty solid

Submitted

Thanks, that was fun.  Those blue guys are fast.  One suggestion: make the barrels destructible!

Submitted

I really enjoyed this one, well done!

The blue guys are kinda tough and have a lot of health and your own shooting rate is pretty low. And movement could be a bit more snappy/grippy too, but it's really cool and I liked the art too!

Fun short game, really cool sprites/animations, here is some feedback:

- The blue enemy shots are way to fast I take damage every time I see one.

- The player's bullet should be faster, they have almost the same speed as the player

- Some better feedback when you hit the boss would be nice, just realised I had to shoot the end of the boss when it was almost dead.

But overall I really enjoyed playing it, congrats!

Developer

thank you so much! I appreciate the suggestions a lot

Firstly, I love the idea.
With some polish I would play this game in my own spare time for fun. So good job on that.

But....
-The game has very little life to it. Just add juice, to everything.
-The enemy spit attack is so bland in color that it sort of blends in with the floor when you're moving, making it harder to dodge than it needs to be. Making it some other color to make it stand out more, or giving it a black outline would help.
-How does going back to the start enhance game play? I know it's the theme of the jam, but once you've finished the level and flip the switch, you're just walking in an empty room. Spawn in a single chasing enemy, or just some new obstacle for the way back would make that part less boring.

Very fun game but the wizard's animation was a bit wacky

Fun puzzle just a few recommendations.

Make sure your movement is snappy, its really annoying to slide around when you your looking for orbs.

Add a camera pan to the exit when you get the final orb in a level, I felt as if I was doing the puzzle over again after solving it.

The use as E as interact through me off and I clicked trying to left click on the lever. Id recommend adding both.

Maybe think about adding another music track.

Other than that add more levels more mechanics to add more variety and more enemies. Fun game -Kolocop

Fun game! it could use a better movement animation for the wizard and the collision detection is a bit rough (at least in the web build) other than that the game is well put together! Great Work!

It would mean a lot if you could check out my Jam submission if you get the chance. Thanks!

this was fun! my only critique is the enemy shoots way faster than you shoot/walk, but otherwise great work!

Cool idea! I like the challenge introduced by the lack of damage done by the bullets and the controls feel nice, but slightly off - in a good way. My main issue is the lack of feedback when an enemy, or you for that matter takes damage... I took 3 health before I even realised, and I didn't realise I was actually hitting the blue enemies for a while because they weren't showing any sign of damage... Either way cool game, and I hope my thoughts helps you in the future!
