Great game, super solid implementation of the theme, I love pixel art and this was super solid. I'm terrible at platformers so it was super hard for me and the guy slid a decent distance from just a tap on the movement lol. I think overall you did a great job and enjoyed the game!
Thank u so much !! :D
Overall pretty solid platformer, perhaps a few tweaks on the momentum however, I kept sliding off of things, and then when anticipating sliding off of things, falling on the close side instead. Sound and feedback were good. You can get softlocked in level 2, and I accidentally found a bug I couldn’t replicate in level 1.
Thanks for checking it out! I'll take a look of the bug you found.
Solid idea for a platformer. I liked how you got to familiarize yourself with the level design before having to go through it with the stakes raised. My only criticism is the main character. I think his idle animation plays a too fast; it seems kinda awkward. Also I think he feels just a bit unwieldy to control; maybe his acceleration is a bit quick? Overall, good stuff!
Thanks for checking out my game! I'll be working on the player soon :)
I enjoyed playing through the levels, the art and the sound effects are so polished, it feels satisfying to win a level. It gets hard with some platforms, but overall is very fun; one of the best I've seen so far. The idea of collecting lights and having to play as Ohm feels so unique and interesting. There are so many levels, its impressive to do all that in a week time, great game!
It'd be nice if to have the time left before collecting more lights integrated following the camera.
Thank u so much :DDD I'm really happy you liked my game :)
A little bit annoying platforming, but that might have been intended. Overall great game though. Would you mind trying my game as well?
hahaha yeah it was intended to be hard, but not too hard. Thanks for checking it out! I already played your game and gave you some feedback :)
Thanks!
Great game, I didn't saw any major glitch or anything like that, well polished, the graphics are cute and perfect, you don't have to make the best art of the world for a game jam, a simple and cute one is enough, the concept is amazing, I really loved it and the music just gives a amazingly good atmosphere.
But I would like to talk about the level 4, idk about anyone else, but I almost gave up from playing on it, wasted to much time there and for me it was really hard, but I eventually passed from it, also the controls didn't really work for me but happily I could change them, so it was a smart add.
Overall I really enjoyed it and congrats on your entry, good luck!
Thanks for checking out my game! Thanks for the feedback too :)
Awesome game! I think this just needs a few tweaks and it would be even better (be aware than some of these may just be nitpicks but I think you should consider tweaking them anyway). I think the deceleration of the character should be faster, though I may have just not played enough to get used to it. It was particularly apparent to me on, I think it was, the third level because I kept slipping off the one tile blocks. I really liked the implementation of the lightbulbs; they seemed extremely polished, also the art for them is super cute. My one complaint with the darkness and the lightbulbs was that whenever I turned around the motion of the first lightbulb was kind of jarring and felt a little bit too fast (probably the most nitpicky thing I have to say :p) I also think that the camera needs work for when the player turns around because even if they just tap the other direction button, the camera just sort of jerks into place. So camera tweaks, movement tweaks, and a lightbulb tweak. Other than that, the game was great and the implementation of the theme was very smooth. Thanks for making it! :D
Thanks for checking out my game :D
I'm planning to tweak the camera movement when changing player's facing and the deceleration too. I'll check the light bulbs turn too.
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it :D!
Music created great atmosphere! And the shift in levels going into the darkness made the backtracking feel a lot better than if the hard part of the levels happened first!
I did have a couple of issues with the camera turning throwing me off the smaller platforms a couple of times
Nice job!
Thanks for checking out my game! I'll definitely tweak the deceleration so the character feels less slippery.
My favorite game of this jam so far. It is so polished. Everything is smooth and good. Wow. Really loved It.
:DDDD Thanks a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed my game !!
Loved the ominous music and implementation of the theme. Very well designed and though through. Great experience!
Thank u :D!
:( wow. I wanted to export to Mac :( Thanks for the intention though !
Great work man, I like the artstyle and the overall idea. good extra point is that the difficulty fits a Jam. Nothing to complain about :)
Thanks for the feedback!!
Great game. The levels are fun. Music is relaxing. But when the lights go out, the game isn't. I think it's a little gem.
Thanks a lot :D
Nice and fun game :) The main thing I'd change is the camera shifting so quickly when turning which can throw you off on the smaller platforms. Overall though it's fun and a good use of the theme :)
Thanks for the feedback :) I'll be working on that !
Really enjoyed it! Love that it's a GameMaker game especially ;) Idea & some of your extra touches really make this a great game! Keep it up.
Thanks !! :)
Probably the best take on the theme I've seen so far - not only does the player have to travel in back and forth, the mechanics enforce a state change that makes the return journey way more interesting. The level design is well paced to reflect this, along with steadily introducing more wrinkles to the formula to keep things interesting. From an audio-visual perspective, the game is very polished - cute pixel art, and neat little bits of animation and sound to make everything pop as it should.
The only issue I ran into is that the platforming can be very unforgiving. I hit a difficulty spike on the third level that I just couldn't overcome. I'm not the best at platformers, so it's entirely possible that my lack of skill was to blame, but I think a bit of coyote time, and having the character slow to stop a bit quicker would take this game from great to perfect.
Probably the best game I've played in the Jam so far, and I'll probably come back to it once the rating period is over, because judging by the screenshots, there's a lot more to see!
I'm really happy you enjoyed the concepts of my game!
As you say, I definitely need to add some coyote time and tweak the deceleration. I'll work on it!
Thanks for the awesome feedback :D
Really interesting platformer with a great atmosphere and haunting music. I especially appreciated that you added an option to remap the keys, awesome touch. With regards to feedback, would have been great if there was perhaps a checkpoint at the generator as going back had some difficult sections.
Great job overall!
Interesting idea! I'll take that in count and see how this checkpoints will affect the difficulty of the game (actually the game is really hard already, so maybe adding checkpoints is a necessary idea).
Thanks for checking out and giving me some feedback!
Beautiful platformer with great use of lighting! I knew I was in for a treat when I saw how polished the main menu and options were. Some suggestions I have if you are interested in working on the game after the jam:
I wanted to know what would happen if I just didn't collect all the unlit lightbulbs since they didn't seem to add any benefit after the first one. Was sad to get back to the beginning only to find I bricked the level and had to restart. Maybe add some indication that ALL bulbs need to be collected or don't allow use of the generator until all bulbs are collected.
Looking left and right quickly is kind of jarring with the quick camera shift.
Great submission! I love platformers and enjoyed playing this one :)
Thanks a lot for checking out my game!
Good recommendations. Something I'll definitely work first is the camera shift to be less abrupt.
Thank u for your feedback, I appreciate it becuase with it I can make my game better :D
Nice art. I like the gameplay. Good work. Congratulations.
Thank u. :D
