It is delayed but to balance that out it lingers and is pretty long. Try attacking slightly earlier. Hope that helps :)

Hey everyone, released my first non jam game yesterday. It’s a short simple game inspired by castlevania with only a single level for now. You must fight your way to the corrupt monarch and take her down. Whether I expand any more will depend on the feedback I get I think. If you decide to have a look then I hope you enjoy!

UPDATE: Added a checkpoint at the boss and increased the whip hitbox inside you

Yeah definitely agree, gonna add it soon

Wow! Thank you for all the feedback. I really appreciate it. I’m glad you had fun as well! Definitely agree with a lot of your points. I think the first thing I’ll do is to add in a checkpoint before the boss. It’s one of those things where I hadn’t thought of it since I had the play the game so often but it’s definitely needed. A lot of your other feedback will take a while to implement and test but but I’ll keep it in mind going forward with this and new games. Thanks again!

I’m glad you enjoyed it :) To get the strength to increase you must grow the strength plant 3 times.

Neat game with really nice art. Love the idea :)

This game looks amazing! The gameplay feels quite smooth as well especially with the dash.

Wow this is really cool. Really impressive this was made over the jam as well. Love the art sound and gameplay.

I’m glad you like it, thank you!

Thank you :)

Thank you! ANd no, it’s not you, it’s just something to enjoy so no ending :)

Thanks for playing. I get what you mean about the sounds but they were pretty last minute so hadn’t played with them much. Might have been better with just the music. I’m glad you had fun with the rest of it :)

Just realised there was a pretty bad bug that stopped shop items from being launched form the shelves. It’s fixed now but if people that have played it already would be up for replaying I would appreciate it

I like that name for it lmao. I thought about making it more of a game but mainly wanted something that was short and enjoyable but yeah I could definitely see it’s potential for more

Thank you!

Nice concept for a game. The shader is pretty cool but can make it hard to see whats happening at first.

Tough game but it’s fun especially when you get the hang of the controls. The sound and music in this is so good as well

Love the idea! It was fun to play and the music and sound effects were great.

I’m glad you liked it and thank you for the compliments :)

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words and I’m glad you had fun :)

Cool idea for a mini game, could fit right into a wario ware style game. Some visual feedback for a mistake would be helpful I think. Looking forward to your other games :)

We had a similar idea for game 1 lmao (although yours is a lot cooler!) Good luck with the rest :)

I’m going to try make 10 linked games(mostly by aesthetic but we’ll see). It’s fun trying to come up with how to connect genres in a single consistent feeling world :)

Pretty neat game :) A lot better then most fishing mini games lmao

Really clever game, the text effect is really impressive as well. I’m curious, did you do it with a shader or multiple sprites for each letter?

I did want to do that but had spent enough time on it for one day lmao. It’s a fun idea. Glad you liked it! :)

Nice! My fastest time is just over 28 seconds. Need to go back and improve it I think.

Also, trying to break the lap detection was the first thing I did lmao.

Thanks for playing :)

Ah that’s unfortunate, I thought I implemented stuff to combat overlapping press but there must be a bug. I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing :)

Thank you! A lot is just practice which makes designing a lot faster. Tbf though having a second person doing the art allowed me to focus on the rest. It always better to have a single thing be super polished then have a lot of content. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask! Good luck in future projects :)

I found this game to be pretty challenging at first but once I got familiar with the idea it became a lot more fun! The game was smooth and the animations were well done :) No spoilers, but the ending was great!

Great game with good music, art and game play! It’s a simple but clever idea that’s well implemented. Well done :)

Great game! I love boss rushes and this one was really well done. The animations and art are beautiful and game play feels great. Really fun game :)

This had probably my favorite music in the jam so far! The gameplay was great and the feedback on missed notes was well done. Great game overall :)

Good luck!

Thank you! It does end. After 10 levels there’s a boss fight which when you beat it the game is complete. I definitely made it too long for a jam game but oh well :)

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll keep that in mind going forward about the sound effects. Also yeah I should have had a dash or something to speed up movement but forgot to add it in the end. Next time :)

I loved this , the music was especially great! It complimented the game so well. One of my favs so far!

The idea here is so original! I loved the art and music. I thought it was really well done overall, congrats! I would have commented that the game seemed short but that was all cleared up. Excited for the new levels :)

This is really encouraging :) Thank you so much! Great game on your part too!
