You submitted this to two jams? https://itch.io/jam/april-fools-jam/rate/238884

Developer

We submitted it to 3 Jams :)

I love it!

Developer(+1)

And we love you! ;) Glad you enjoyed it!

First of all, your game is very fun!  I love what you did. The concept of mini-game is very cool and I had so much fun! Plus, you thought to put checkpoint at every step of difficulty and it's very nice. I have nothing else to say except that is a good game. Good Job!

Developer

Thank you Kamiyue I'm glad you had a phenomenal time playing our little game!

Submitted

This was a lot of fun! Even got my brother playing it with me.

Developer

OOHH yeah! Did you have any favorite microgames?

Submitted

I had a lot of fun playing through this a few times - got the OK END. I think I saw pretty much every mini game and they were each interesting/funny to play through on their own. Nicely done. You guys did some terrific work here.

And thank you for playing Scare City! I really appreciate the feedback and rating. Take care and good luck with continuing the title!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Keep playing to find all 4 of the endings!

Fantastic presentation, it's just a bit of a shame after multiple runs I kept getting certain minigames a lot more often than others. The platforming game was way too long, and had to be done three times per run which is really unnecessary.

I like the chaotic nature, particularly the constantly shifting artstyle, but the world map broke up the pace too much. Having the player choose when to begin the next game gives a lot of breathing room, which doesn't really suit the extremely short amount of time each game is shown.

Developer

Yes, having the player choose to enter the level is more of a debugging feature than anything, and will probably be removed from future versions. However I have in the latest version included a pause menu (only on the overworld), should the player find themselves needing to take a break mid-session.

Mini-games are chosen randomly from all possible games at the start of each difficulty. So you can indeed play the same game twice, just on different difficulties, in one run.

We are also in the process of spicing up the final boss so that the platforming section naturally progresses to a more interesting final conclusion. :)

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback, we're in the process now of adding some more boss rooms

It genuinely blows my mind that you managed to cram all of this content in for a 72 hour jam, well done guys, any criticisms that I could make, are completely unfair to mention  considering what you've managed to accomplish in the time frame.

Developer

Definitely give out feedback as the only way we will continue to produce great work is through making sure that we are fixing our blind spots!

No worries :) I found the game a bit easy, "difficult" and "impossible" were a bit misleading. The sound effects were good for the most part and the audio balances well (the track that plays at the end (the good ending) is really awesome, so props to whoever did that), but the sound effect for getting the golden egg at the end of the platformer back to the beginning doesn't gel well with the music at that moment in time. I'd personally just cut out the music entirely when you trigger that particular sound. The only other thing I can mention is I didn't really understand how the game tied into the theme of the jam, in fact if you think about it, this would be the perfect game for the theme 'abundance' as the amount of content is staggering in the context of a 3 day jam. I'm guessing the amount of time you have to complete each mini game is where the 'scarcity' comes in? All of these points i'm raising though are just nit picks, they're things I'm commenting on that I really have to think about, nothing sticks out that's so obvious it's off putting so please don't take anything I'm saying here to heart, you guys made a really impressive game :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Even if it's criticism, it helps us to know what the users want more, and what they have problems with! Also, we're currently thinking of ideas to make the end of the boss stage more satisfying / more fluid (no pun intended).

As for the "scarcity" theme, it plays a part in the story along with how much time you have in each minigame. The ducks are scarce on money which is why they do the odd jobs (the minigames) :)

Submitted(+1)

Like I said mate, thinking of things for you guys to improve on is like getting blood out of a stone, you should all be really proud :)

Developer

Please! Tell us your criticisms! Tell us what parts you enjoyed most! We crave it!

Good representation from a variety of duck species... and an awesome game! Very well made.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

P.S.) Yes, we are strong supporters of duck equality. Every duck species should have equal representation in the court of law, and should have equal rights :)

Submitted

How noble of you!

Submitted

Well damn, it's not even fair competition against you! Well played.

Developer

No matter who wins, I think we all enjoyed simply making the game and working as a team. What's important is that you try, and submit the best try you can! It is better to try and fail than it is to not try at all <3

Of course! we are going all in this and continuing development on our game to get it to the level we are satisfied with it.

BTW you got highest rating from me  I have given in this JAM.

Submitted(+1)

I'm with nezvers, too good, I cry fowl... lol

Submitted(+1)

That was amazing, fitting so much content and assets into a game jam is nothing short of impressive. It also made me realise that maybe I should get a team for next jam :D Great work, I want to play it some more now.

1 thing I noticed, while on difficult map, losing on first level didn't cost me any lives.

Developer

Thanks! We put a lot of heart into making the game come together :D We'll be updating it here and in the other page, posted by Zen00.

BTW: What minigame was it that you had just finished when you encountered this problem? It most likely has to do with the minigame itself, so if you can remember, we can check it out! Thank you!

The word funny describe perfectly the game.

Good job.

Developer

Very thankful "QUACK"

lots of cool micro games, impressive job!

Developer

Thank you my dude, it means a lot from a fellow Sheep gamer that a fellow duck gamer can meet your expectations :D

This is magnificent, I must say my absolute favourite part of this was the comic intro/outro bits and the overarching theme, really good!

I went through it three times and still saw new games the third time, I'm amazed you guys managed to get this much together in this short time!

Great work :D

Developer(+1)

For extra replay value we add a new game every 1 hour you play, to keep things spiced up

(top comment is a lie)

Glad you liked it , we put in around 15 micro games that are all randomly chosen!

(+1)

Thanks man!

was pretty fun and challenging to do the comic intros and some of the sprite work on such a short time frame. glad you liked what I made!

Submitted(+2)

Ok im impressed

Developer

Glad to hear. :)

Submitted(+1)

Whoa, this is so good, and the amount of diverse programming and art just baffles me, this feels like so much work! Really WarioWare-like, and not sure how it ties to the theme, but very very fun!

The animations, so slick, but the minigames, the core of it, were clean as hell too. The jumping one maybe was the less interesting.

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you enjoyed it :) each of us has our own talents and special skills, and we were able to work together as well as independently on it, which helped capture that unique bizzare style! Thanks for the feedback about the jumping minigame (I’m assuming that’s the boss stage, with the golden egg and wave ride). We’ll try and make it more interesting :D

P.S. - The ducks are scarce on money, and the player is scarce on time.

Developer(+1)

Scarce in time, because minigames take 5 seconds each Hahaha

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed this, you really nailed the Wario Ware thing, after playing it 3 times I ended up seeing games I hadn't originally - you really packed this full of content nice job

Developer

Thank you very much! We wanted all of the mini-games to feel fresh and unique (And certainly very bizarre!) If there were any problems you encountered, or moments that felt unbalanced, please let us know, so that we can improve upon it ;D

Submitted(+1)

Really nice idea and art.

Developer

Glad you liked it!
