Tough game! Especially in hectic situations it's very easy to mess up given the "only one button" control scheme. While I understand that it matches the theme, I think it would have been better to focus on the "only one item" part and ease controls by using two separate buttons. Balancing-wise I like how stones and keys impact enemies in different ways when throw and how that values keys in two different ways. Particularly with the stones I often was unsure however, if I really picked them up or not. Which, again, becomes problematic in hectic, high stakes situations with enemies being in the room. Maybe display the currently hold item in the corner of the screen. Of course a pickup sound could also fix this issue. Really like the art style btw, are these original content? :)

I love the retro look and feel of it, nice job!
Also we seem to share the same idea :) Feel free to check out my game.
I like how throwing stuff can be used as an attack, but also as a way to shuffle items forward. It reduces the amount of back-and-forth I have seen in other carry-one games.
That's not Normal difficulty, it's more like European Extreme! I think the "Hold & Release" interaction got in the way; would've been a lot better if it was just another button. Nonetheless, it's a charming game with an interesting core. I can totally see this becoming a whole game.

Sorry about your problem with the arrow keys. WASD also is an option for control. I used an external tool to make a web version of my game, and this is the first time I used it and didn't notice that bug until after the game jam ended. Please use the downloadable version if you want to play using the arrow keys.
What a neat little game! We were thinking of doing "hold one object at a time" as well! Nice to see someone do it. Movement feels smooth and it looks like you put a lot of work into the game. Nice job!
Neat result! I wish there were a seperate button for throwing, as the holding space felt a little awkward sometimes. Also, the artstyle is very cute!
Really cool and challenging game and, even if I have already seen games with the one item mechanic, I feel like the game was built around it amazingly. I wish I made something as good as this!
The theme doesn't really come through with this game because holding one item or dying from one hit are pretty common as far as games go. I had difficulty playing this game for three reasons:
1) positions of the enemies don't reset upon entering a room.
2) the collisions make it difficult to fit in between tight spaces.
3) enemies can't be killed so you have to constantly move them.
Thank you for the feedback. The reason why enemies can't be killed and don't reset their positions is that once you defeat the boss at the end of the game and get the jewel you need to return to where you started to win. Rooms which you may have breezed through may become challenges based on how you completed them and where the enemies were last at when you completed them when returning for the second time.
Very nice! The aesthetic brings fond memories of final fantasy adventure and the gameplay has a great sense of exploration and discovery. My one critique is the control scheme can be difficult at times and I find it tricky to throw and pick items up properly on occasion.
Overall great work!
Simple idea but with a nice execution !
I could not get the second key as the instant death is very punishing. May be a life counter system could be beneficial to the experience. But it is still amusing and challenging ! I really liked the fact that you can not kill the ennemy, it give an aspect survival to the game that we don't see often in this kind of games!
