Haha, yes! This was great. Especially appreciated how the spikes zip past when you jump, clever design there! Nice work!

DUUUDE that was so funny xD loved how they wanted more and more of me and how "I'm the only one who can do this!" xD it's rare to find games like this one, good job
It has so much potensh! Sadly it has no restart button, so I had to manually reopen game several times to enjoy the art in its purest form
Another small bug. The manager gives you money, when you don't earn anything.
Damn, I love play testing and playing as dumb as I can :D
I don't know, but I think I have to give you full points on this game. The design is awesome, controls are nice and everything works as expected.
The theme is implemented several times with only one button (I think that's the main idea), only one stage and of course only 1 dollar :D
And I also think that it is a really original idea.
The music and animations are also really nice. Good job.
Two small mistakes tho:
- You can keep collecting money if the time is up.
- You cannot restart the game when it is over. At least the A key did not work.
Edit: I like that you basically can't loose in this game becaus the spikes and bombs are just taking away your money, if you have any. This does not stop the music and let's you finish all levels. Good design.
Thanks so much for playing, and for all the kind words! I'm really glad you liked my implementation of the theme (and the 1 dollar thing haha).
I've been putting together a list of things to add/fix for a post jam version, so I'll definitely fix the "collecting money after time is up" and the "no restart" functionality, thanks for catching those!
I definitely wanted this game to have no "failure-state", since I thought that'd break the flow of the game too much. I'm glad you agreed with that design choice. Thanks again for playing!
I'm really expecting your game to be in the top 100 and I think you could even make it into the video from GMTK ;)
I also liked your implementation of the tutorial level where you have to reach a specific score to finish. Really good game design there.
We had no time left for a tutorial level and a lot of people don't read the tutorial text and then don't know that they can dash in our game ...
Music was KILLER and what a fun concept in general! I had a ton of fun with this! The manager was super stingy though XD
Pure joy. Good music, not frustrating, just plain fun. :) I think the first perfect score I gave yet.
Holy moly, the music is gorgeous! Very satisfying to make cool dance combos. I found it funny that the manager always leaves you with only one dollar, amplifying the managers greediness.
This was a really interesting take on the theme! It was cool how you managed to get a full set of controls out of a single key, good job
Thank you for the kind words! It definitely gets challenging at times, and there's a bit more I wish I did to make perfect play more doable. Sometimes there are situations where a spike will spawn and a bomb will be placed and there's really no way to dodge both, but I'm glad you found it fun! Thanks for playing.
amazing presentation, fun to play. could work well as a mobile title for fun short diversions.
Woooow once I got the hang of this I was having a blast. Great job, this is wonderful goofy fun. That music is bumpin' as well. Check out my game if you haven't :) https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/463168
I love the gameplay, music, style, graphics, and charm. I wish there was more, in fact that's my only critique. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH!
Super cool with the way it puts the music in the foreground when you have to listen to be able to engage fully.
One problem is that the inviorment i very busy and the song would need need a beat that signals what key your on. Let me explain:
1 2 3 4
On the one beat you can jump, on the two you can move left, on the three beat you can jump and on the fourth you con go right.
The different actions for the different beats should be sound coded and those sounds should be pretty loud. For example the jump could be signaled by a kickdrum, the right by a snare and the left by a hihat. That would make it instantly hearable and removing the arrows and having a simpler first level would put the music even more in the foreground.
Design 5/5
Everything works so smothly when you figure it out when you should be pressing the keys. The movement system is super cool and the attack thrown at you just boosts the experience and makes you focus even more!
Adherence 4/5
There is a lot of things that there is only one of, one guy, one tempo, one button.
Originality 5/5
I have never seen a game even close to this before. This is very original
Thanks for playing! I love your reviews, they're so detailed and I always look forward to them.
I totally agree with the point that it's VERY busy looking. There's a ton of stuff on screen at a given time, so having a better way to let the player keep track of which action is available would have been good. I really like the idea of using a different instrument / audio cue for which action can be used (i.e snare for slide, kick for jump like you said). I'm planning on throwing together a post-jam web version so I'll definitely try that idea out. Thanks again for giving this review, I'm really glad you liked it!
