Very interesting idea here! I would like to see how implementing this in bigger levels might look like!
Well done
Thanks for the feedback!
I haven't thinked on how to take the concept to bigger levels, it seems like an interesting design challenge.
An interesting idea, using your fellow cubes for protection took me quite by surprise, nice job!
Thanks for the feedback!
Fun concept, getting your buddies together and sacrificing them for your benefit as compelling as disturbing. Its a shame the game was so short, because the mechanics where there.
Theme, pretty weak, only one sprite is only aesthetic and you can do that with almost any game. It scores points for having multiple characters controlled by only one control.
Originality, it has some originality in concept its a bullet proof vest collectathon.
Yeah, I couldn't really think in a cool way to make the Only One connected to the gameplay so I decided to cover my lack of art talent with that. Now that you mention it I could have used the control of all the squares with only one input or something like that. Thanks for the feedback!
Fun little exploring game, without explaination it's kinda confusing at first, but good use of the concept for using only one shape!!
Thanks! I wanted to get the player confused sometimes, specially at the beginning, that way the discoveries feel more important, at least for me.
This is a pretty cool little adventure game. The connection to the theme doesn't really have to do with the game play in particular, but it's your own interpretation so I don't see anything wrong with that. Good job!
Yeah, I wanted to do something cool with the gameplay and the theme but nothing original came to my mind. Thanks for the feedback!
Wow this game is great! It took a bit to get the hang of but then it really opens up, so many secrets to find. I felt bad when I got my wee buddies killed. Great choice of music it is great. Nice job cramming so much content into a gamejam :)
Thanks! Yeah I don't feel good when my green squares die too, but some sacrifices were needed :(
I didn't really get the connection to the theme of "Only One", but I did like how you can go around exploring, growing your squad of squares. I think there's a lot to explore here. Reminded me of Link for NES. Keep it up!
The "only one" was used on the visuals here, "Only One Shape: Squares". Not the most interesting take on the theme but it's what worked for me.
The first Zelda was a huge reference here definetly.
Thank you for playing!
Neat short games, it remind me of old NES game which all about discovering new area with secrets.
Thanks!
Yeah NES games secrets are a clear reference, the most obvius one being the first Zelda.
It was quite hard, but I'm glad you put in the invincibility option. Exploring felt super organic and gratifying, and the very first thing I did was go everywhere except where the arrow was pointing! I also really liked how you teased other secrets by placing grey squares that were just out of reach. Aside from the difficulty (which i felt took away some from the exploration until I used the invincibility option) very nice job!
Yeah difficulty was hard to balance and I've seen some lucky people that completed the game with a lot of luck in ways that I never thought were even possible.
Thank you for playing!
Very difficult but also very unique. I could see this as a fully polished game, I love the concept!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Lots to discover!
Yeah, that's the spirit!Thank you!
Cool concept and nice level but was just a bit too hard for me :)
Hey, don't worry, it was hard to "balance".
You can turn invincibility if you want to see the end of the game, there is nothing wrong with that.
It took a little while to get into, as it's not the most intuitive game. Having said that, good job! I had fun playing it.
Thanks for playing! It was really hard to balance the level of obvius and cryptic of the secrets.
This was neat! I especially liked the ending with all the squares spawning in, it reminded me of Thomas Was Alone. The game itself was a little hard to understand but still, I think this was a fun one!
Thanks for playing!
I hope the game wasn't to cryptic, it was hard to make a game based on discovery trying to balance the secrets in a way that they were not obvious neither impossible to see. Glad you liked the ending too, I wanted something more than just a Game Over screen at the end.
Nicely done, I found it hard to get past the top room but right as I was about to give up I saw the invincibility option, very thoughtful. But without it the game feels a bit too hard. Simple but effective use of the sprite trick. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
The top room is a bit tricky but you can go through it without the invincibility if you want to try the game again anytime.
